What is your favorite Switch Controller Yea Forums?
Comfy Switch Thread - 3rd Party Controller edition
For me its
Fake Switch Pro Controller>SN30 Pro G>Joycons>Ps4 with 8bitdo adapter>Xbone with 8bitdo adapter
8bido is overrated as fuck. Unironically the dual shock 4 would be perfect if it were a little bigger.
for me it's the naked joycons
unironically my favourite gaming input device
When you say fake Pro controller, do you mean the shitty ones without the gyro, or that $30 one that Amazon keeps trying to sell me that claims to have gyro? Cause if it's that one, and it has a real D-Pad I'm gonna have to finally buy one.
Not sure about the amazon one, I meant this.
Literally the same as the original one, it has a gyro, however it feels a bit worse than the one in the Joy cons. And the rumble is shitty. I'm pretty sure the D-pad is the same as the OG
not OP but I kinda agree, dpad on them is mediocre and build quality, whilst not bad by any means, is lower than I anticipated given the glowing reviews they generally received; rumble also feels really weak in them, even after updating firmware it still feels pretty weedy. On the plus side, though, the gyro is extremely good by third party controller standards (nearly 1-to-1 with official switch controllers), and personally I was able to get mine really cheap so I can't say I'm unhappy with it for the price either. Just surprised they're regarded as highly as they are given the kind of mediocre build quality. Analog stick recoil is an issue with them I noticed immediately, for example, yet nobody seems to bring that up aside from like 1 review I saw.
I bought a regular black pro controller alongside my Switch in late 2017. I got the collector's edition of Smash Ultimate in December which came with the top left pro controller in the OP image. I just use that. I've considered buying an SN30 Pro but I don't really need another controller that badly and I don't have much disposable income.
I hate to be the guy who says leddit but they're one of the major reasons they're highly regarded.
Everyone should own one of these for 2D games, they're cheap and stupidly comfortable. Finally a controller built for adult hands so you don't need to bend your thumbs at a weird angle. Really solid dpad, big shoulder buttons with low travel and a comfy grip. Makes the pro controller feel small in comparison.
I own one. It's probably the best mushy dpad I own even if I prefer clicky stuff. Wish it had four back buttons, though. Great for simple games.
I'm still looking for a Switch compatible controller with a clicky dpad and four back buttons. Joysticks are optional but highly encouraged.
Nah, I own sf30pro and it's the nostalgia bias. Still one of my favorite though.
Thoughts on ipega 9083? I just want a fucking joycon replacement. These piece of shits keep drifting.
Nah, it's mainly youtubers like wulffden, nintendo life and kevin kenson. They all made clickbaity "best controller!" videos as easy filler content between big releases.
and how would you know this, user?
It's a shame there are only two shoulder buttons (and no home button), but other than that it's perfect. I love it for arcade games and 2D platformers. It's hard to go back to smaller, cramped controllers honestly.
All these chink joycons suck dick, I have a Ipega red devil and its the same shite.
For those of you who have played Ys VIII, did (You) play the prior games first? Or skip some / all?
Suggest comfy Switch vidya to grind while listening to music (that isn't the game's OST)
Disgaea 5, or learn an arcade game. Shock troopers is fun.
I got a Hori gamepad not too long ago and the thing's pretty responsive and comfortable. I also recommend their screen protector
the clone switch pro controller being sold on Aliexpress is bretty gud
been sticking with mouse and keyboard for most my life, but i've used plenty of gamepads over the years
>shitty non-brand pad
>broke within a month
>shitty gamestop pad
>comfy but broke within a month
>360 pad
>pretty good, shitty d-pad, held for years until the analog sticks lost range
>xbone pad, shitty bumpers, held for a few years until the bumpers stopped registering
>ds4
>really good, lack of native support kinda sucks, have to mod in UI support
probably gonna stick with sony controllers from now on
Played them all except Kefin.
The only controller that's ever broken for me was a PS2 controller, and that in 2018 after almost 20 years. It was probably fairly easy to fix too, simple cable fault after being bent around for so long. I still have everything else in fully working condition as far back as the early PS1 pads. It's always strange to see people fucking up their controllers a couple of months after release.
I hope you all guys are not trolling, I ordered one a week ago and now I am waiting for it.
