No. The remake won't be good. FFXV was a piece of shit, and SE is incapable of producing good games. Only their western developed games have been good in recent years, and they're basically just publishers and investors.

NieR Automata is objectively a solid 8/10 game

I couldn’t care less about changes, all I want is some basic character features to stay: Aeris still dying, Tifa keeping her honkers, Barret being a potty mouth, Cid being an asshole to Shera, the Don Corneo sequence (only the part inside the mansion, expecting the super gay bath scene or honey bee inn is probably asking too much).
oh and NO RETCONS to include shit from Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus. one thing is to meme up references in flavor text in items like in Dark Souls, but if they shoehorn this shit in cutscenes or plot-centric dialogue they can go sit on a cactus

What would be ideal for you? I'm still sorting out what kind of combat mechanics I'd enjoy. After the update of XV where you could control your party a bit more, I did enjoy it.

It should be. FF7 isn't a very big game, content wise. They'd have to add an insane amount of padding to justify selling it in 3 parts.

Last time I finished FF7 without spending lifetimes grinding materia, I cleared all content in 30 hours. When I was a kid and did a rushed playthrough of jsut the story, I remember ending up at around 21 hours and 45 minutes of playtime at the final save point.

I think splitting the game up in 3 parts is their justification for remaking it at all, considering how insanely expensive an authentic recreation of the game would be. It had some highly ambitious set pieces and locations, as well as an large amount of minigames that were different gameplay systems on their own.

I've said it in every thread. But this game is going to anger everyone. It'll change a bunch of stuff the die hard fans want to stay the same. But at the same time, it won't appeal to new fans. It's going to be like The Force Awakens.

Despite that, it will sell 10 million copies. Every fanboy will buy a copy just because it's FFVII. And a bunch of others will buy it because of hype and millions in advertising. In the end, it'll be forgotten in a few months like FFXV was. But it'll sell a ton, like FFXV did.
