Why did Yea Forums claim it was better when DBD has more players?
Why did Friday the 13th flop?
what's the appeal in these games?
F13 had potential to be good but the devs were complete fucking morons and shot themselves in the foot. The game was broken as fuck for like 2 months at release and filled with bugs and cheaters. Then they couldnt fix it fast enough and then served with a stop production due to a legal case with the franchise. Had it been given to a competent studio it would have done better.
Is it really that surprising that a video game that has "The Game" in the title is complete garbage?
Fucking this
It is better, it just got fucked over in development.
Sandbox fun with a variety of rules is better than DbD's rigid formulaic design.
WTB: The Game Game

Playing a slasher movie
>It is better
It's not
>it just got fucked over in development.
By shit devs, yes
Not DBD. I think the developers had the intention of that, but once they figured out how competitive but at the same time how unfathomably unbalanced the game was, and also how it wasn't scary at all, they shifted gears.
The game has been out for like 3 years now with constant updates, and it's still not balanced.
I'm glad there's a DBD thread here. Can we talk about how terrible the developers and the fanbase are?
The game you say?
Friday the 13th was twice as expensive with more bugs and far less content. Dead by Daylight went on sale often, even at 50%. It's been part of a Humble Bundle at least 2 times.
holy shit this is so epic
They got sued so they had to stop working on the game. No more updates.
They released the game too early. It was barely playable at launch, and it lead to cheating. A lot of players quickly gave up and refunded. They focused on the wrong things when updating, and the updates were far in-between.
>Stop production due to a legal case
Reminder that the devs literally said that even if they won the case they were not going to add anymore content to the game.
The lawsuit was a convenient excuse for them to drop the game
I remember they made Jason's cabin or something? Which was sort of a tribute to the movies, with cool animations and stuff. And they put probably hours and hours into that when their game was still barley playable. What a bunch of retards.
Not that dead by daylight is better, they break something every patch, and only fix it until months (or even years) later. They also introduce horrible balance changes sometimes (but overall good).
Why are so many people still playing DbD?
Is there like some sort of cult following where all the hundred of hours tryhards just play it over and over again for an indefinite amount of time? 50 hours in that game was enough to make me never want to go back to it ever again.
Nobody claims it's better that isn't trolling. One was made with an actual vision in mind for a fun game. The other was a shameless cash grab by a big corporation that saw it had an ip that could capitalize on a new genre that was popping up. Frogs are borderline incompetent when it comes to balance, but their original idea was a (lucky or not) home run and nobody is going to push them out of their own genre any time soon. Everyone who has tried has ended up with huge losses because people play it for a day and then go back to dbd.
Friday the 13th also put a lot work into playing with bots. Not sure if they ever finished that, but it was a big waste of time. It's supposed to be a multiplayer game.
Because Mr. Sessler told me it was great
Unironically kill yourself.
salty losers
I got 500 hours in it. Couldn't exactly say why, it's one of the more infuriating games out there. Maybe it's the excellent presentation, like the sound design that makes you want more. The grind for perks also gives you a goal.
It was and still is a popular game for Youtubers and Twitchers.
F13's beta was ridiculously fun, then they somehow managed to totally ruin the game between it and release.
Betas for games is always fun. Developers know this and do it on purpose to get sales. When you play a demo, you are playing at a time where you are most likely to be the most invested; the beginning.
Also, nobody knows what the fuck they're doing, so you can end up actually having fun moments. It was like that in the Rainbow 6: Siege beta, nobody knew what was going on so everybody breached grapple breached the objective at the same time, it was super fun. Then once everyone learned how to play the game you would get head shot right outside of your spawn half the time.
The devs can also excuse shitty bugs and gameplay design choices because "oh it's just the beta", but 90% of the time they will never fix it.
It’s not supposed to be balanced.
The buffed the campers so much being Jason wasn’t fun anymore
Are you saying that DBD or F13 isn't supposed to be balanced? It's an online multiplayer game it damn well should be.
The best part about horror movies is when the Chad and Stacy main characters are fucking and the killer interrupts them and kills them during or after the act. Horror games never have this.
