I dunno, I tried to hack my friend's 2000 and the internal memory made configuring the SD2VITA really confusing. I had to stick in an old 8GB Vita memory card just to get things sorted out
Looking to get a PS Vita. Is the Slim way better than the original model or does it not really matter?
How so? I did it just last week and it seemed pretty straightforward to me. Didn't have to dig out my old 4 gig card or format the 16 gig one out of my 1000, which was nice. The configuration seemed as simple as following the instructions for mount points to me.
Bought a pre-owned original with the OLED screen and jesus fuck those colors look good. It was mostly a supply and demand thing, I got the original for cheaper. However it has a proprietary charging cable and you have to deal with their shitty bespoke memory card solution too, which isn't cheap.
not him but you can switch your "real" vita memory and the sd2vita (ux0 and uma0) and if they are same size it's difficult to tell which is which if you forget.
>you have to deal with their shitty bespoke memory card solution too
why don't you just hack it so you can use sd cards?
>. However it has a proprietary charging cable
replacements are 2€ on ebay
I dunno, I haven't looked into it but I don't think my firmware is the correct version.
On all models except the 3G 1000 there's really no option to do that while also keeping physical copies easily accessible, which might be a dealbreaker for some people. Not many, but some.
Still less convenient than it just using a standard connector, especially if you're traveling with it.
Any system on 3.68 or below can be hacked right now. 6.69/70 both have an exploit coming in a couple of weeks. All Vitas today are either currently hackable or soon to be.
Ah that's cool, thanks for the heads up user.
If you're interested take a look at the guides in the OP of the homebrew general, there's one step involved with preparing for the unreleased exploit. You've just got to grab a vulnerable game now, several of which are free, and will probably be pulled when the exploit is announced. If your system is below 3.69 though, you're good to go immediately as long as you don't update.
