How is this game?
It looked pretty slick and Devolver Digital is usually a good indicator of quality.
Wtf why is this game so short? I was really enjoying it and then it just ends
Hollow Knight is like 25 at the most if you have an IQ above 90
Also another thing for your second playthrough. Try beating it without using the time slow, it makes things like deflecting bullets and beating big groups of enemies significantly harder, but you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it when you do. It's a nice way to spice it up.
Wish it was getting a phsycal release
Did you even finished the game? The little girl is an hallucination of Zero, because SPOILERS he kills the scientist on his nightmares and realizes there was a kid there, that's where the toy the girl gives you comes from.
Yeah okay retard
It's pretty fun, even though it's really short. You go through stages with the objective to kill every single enemy in there (apart from one stage, if you want a different outcome at the end of the game).
You can get killed by just one hit from an enemy, but so can they. If you get killed, you have to redo the whole section where you died, with the enemies respawning too. Many stages give you pick-ups and multiple routes for you to kill enemies at your own pace and choice. You also have a time slowdown abillity at your disposal, which can help you plan out certain moves, but it makes the game easier a bit, so if you want a challenge, I'd advise you to not use it as much/ not use it at all.
That's for the gameplay. The story keeps things cryptive, which makes you guess a lot of things, but it hooks you in because of that. The dialogue is well written and gives you a lot of options on how you want them to progress, graphics and animations are fluid with a great neo-retro aesthetic mixed in, music fits the aesthetic and gameply as well.
The only big problem about it is it's really short length, you can get through the game in 5 hours, if not less. even then, it's quite fun, and DLC is planned for the next few months to add more content to the game, so you can hold out on buying it till then, or just pirate it now if you want.
Don't know user, a part of me wants to believe the little girl is real and the nightmares where she appears were more of a prophecy of them meeting. The ending cutscene does explain where Zero go the Leviathan toy from, but the little girl is absent, so I'd like to believe there is more to her.
The song Zero's neighbors play all the time has no right to be that catchy
