Well, if it does support software raytracing in any capacity, it's going to really cut down performance and resolution. So we might end up with another 1080p 30FPS generation.

PC won't "survive" anything. They'll be back to a workmachine, a device that creates games but never plays them.

They turn a profit off of xbox live subscriptions, game sales, and now game pass. The consoles themselves usually sell at or below cost.
