All three MvC2 originals are great, I don't know why they never show up. I can't imagine there's any kind of weird co-ownership nonsense like with kingdom hearts for example so it's clearly a deliberate decision to just exclude them when they could easily show up wherever.

I figure the main thing is they wouldn't want to stick them anywhere besides in a fighting game, but with most crossover fighting games there's so much demand for X character or Y character they're probably afraid to spend that dev time on what's essentially original characters.

I feel like at this point you could put Ruby Heart or whoever into a crossover fighter and have it be a generic Capcom rep. I know MvC2 holds enough nostalgia that something like that could still work over random filler like the seventeenth street fighter character.
