A physical copy of a game should come with a digital copy that's tied to your console account. Prove me wrong

CD Key implies the key is needed to use the CD.
This would be the CD acting as a second key...a Key CD, I suppose.

They're already inherently more valuable since they're physical products you actually own instead of ephemeral licenses for data.

Honestly I think the CD key idea is fine for consoles, so long as the keys are transferrable. So they could only be active for one console at a time, but if you want to sell your copy of the game, you could log onto whatever console's store and choose the game to delink from your account.
