What's Gold Swapping

Paying someone who plays bfa and classic gold in bfa for items or favors in classic. Since you can buy gold with cash in bfa, classic will have pay to win elements.

>Player 1 buys a WoW Token and redeems it for Gold (BfA)
>Player 1 trades this Gold to Player 2 (BfA)
>Player 2 trades Gold to Player 1 (Classic)
>Player 2 buys a Token and continues to play the game for free (BfA)

BfA and Classic subscriptions are the same. This is why they should have separate subscriptions.

gold is practically useless in bfa lol

>WoW Buys you a monthly subscription
>Useless

You can do that same thing on retail years ago...fags always bought from gold sites.

how is this different from buying gold off chinks

Except that one is can get you banned, the other does not.

How would classic characters and BFA characters interact? Wouldn’t they be on separate servers or something? How does that make any sense

One gets you banned?

>pay-to-win
But you wont get anything with gold? Maybe shitty weapons and bread, but you still have to play the game legit to actually win.

I never got banned for doing it on retail

You can do everything he said on BfA using level 1 characters you retard.

imagine being so poor that you slave away in vanilla wow to afford to play it lol

Retail Gold has a a real world value though. People can buy Blizzard games and services using it.

ok lads, Shadow Priest or Warlock for PVP?

>Woowww it’s not like WoW never had gold farmers
>classic btfo!

I saged your shit thread

>Doesn't understand it
>"Sage it"

You sure showed him.

I guess if you live in the third world where hourly wages are

Doesn’t answer how classic characters would interact with BFA characters.

Trade chat?

Are you retarded?

I really don't understand where you are getting at. You can engage in a conversion with someone on Classic and Exchange ID's. What's the Issue?

Do you need to trust the other guy? Sure, but there will be websites dedicated to this to ensure swapping trust.

I haven’t been following classic but I thought the whole point was to have an experience similar to classic wow, but instead you’re still interacting with modern characters?

Lmao wow what is even the point then. Glad I didn’t hype myself up to begin with

Battle net integration is going to be a thing. Same thing with wide-screens and increased CPU power. Something will never be the same. Especially the social aspect.

Somehow I don’t think widescreen and high FPS are in the same category as trade between classic and modern expacs. It’s a fine line I guess

What exactly constitutes as "winning" in vanilla? Clearing raids? Now, to its credit the mechanics that are there matter to the extent you can't just ignore them and brute force through the content anyway like you pretty much can in easier artificial difficulty settings of neo-WoW so a degree of coordination is required and absolutely every group is not going to clear everything instantly, but every capable group is going to clear raids by default, and realistically the measuring stick between guilds will be speedrunning, at which point purchasing consumables is a major deal.

In PvP "winning" could be thought of as achieving R14 in which case it's premades dodging each other and beating randoms by default. Gold has no relevance here. However, another way of "winning" could be showing your dominance in world PvP and in that case being able to afford free action pots, engineering gadgets and shit does matter a lot.

Besides, you can bet your ass there will be guilds selling items from their alt raids or whatever, and gold actually does have value in vanilla in general, both in terms of covering for mandatory costs (hell, even 60% mount is a sizable chunk of change at the appropriate level), gear (there's a decent amount of valuable BoEs with expensive mats) and consumables.

Now, I don't think it's disastrous precisely because it doesn't genuinely affect "real" progression and is just e-peen, but if there's an iteration of WoW where gold can purchase you power, that would be vanilla.

You can buy all sorts of thins with Gold. (PvP Carries and Raid Runs for example).

Remember everyone who said they wouldn't play if there's changes? The #NoChanges? Those people are now fine with battle net integration. Hypocrisy.

how is this any different to selling gold on the internet for rl money, as happened in classic?

Because one carries and actual risk of getting you banned you moron. You can deny that all you wan.

Nobody cares about gold. The real cancer is selling spots on a raid run for fat loot.

I'm going to enjoy Main Tanking raids and getting all the loot I want whenever I want it. The first Ashkandi drop for my guild will go to me for my PVP spec before anyone else.

Vanilla wow was pay to win because you could contact your local chinese man and buy gold for real money. What's your point?

You idiots do realize you'll have to pay monthly again, right? There's no need for paying someone for gold swapping when you can literally buy BFA for less than $20.

That said, buying gold with the droprates of classic WoW is pure insanity. Only a fucking retard would walk into this AH shitshow.

>mfw this will be a real thing allowed by Blizzard and there's nothing you can do about it

Attached: 1541716885028.jpg (600x557, 39K)

thank god

fuck NEETs, wagecucks will rule classic

back then gold selling was pervasive, threat of ban or not. it did not make the game pay2win

>PvP Carries
>Raid Carries
>Consumables
>Mounts
>Gear
>Not pay-to-win
>t.someone who's never played Vanilla

Attached: 1546896362097.jpg (516x544, 109K)

You could buy your way into a premade group going for Rank 14 if you had enough gold.
You could buy a raid slot with a guild that farms content and barely needs any of the loot if you had enough gold.
You could reserve loot if you had enough gold.
You could get others to farm consumables and ingredients for you if you had enough gold.
You could get others to farm Silithus for the scepter if you had enough gold.

Get that "Not P2W" shit outta my face, bitch.

>Gold Swapping.
This is as likely to get you scammed as buying gold from third worlders.

>One gets you banned?

Hahahahahahaha, by who?

Attached: a3c.png (3222x598, 739K)

>Implying there won't be 3rd party websites with reputation systems promoting this

What is gold swapping?

Gold selling was a gigantic industry in classic, which means potential ban or not(no one is going to get banned in WoW for buying gold, there is no staff for it), people bought a shitton of gold.
Gold swapping is buying gold with extra steps.

Thank God these normalfag bait threads keep getting posted, I can add tons of wojack shitters to my mute list :^)

quite a few specs in vanilla have crafted items that are available from the start or nearly the start of the game (sometimes multiple) that remain overall bis until the very end of naxxramas. warriors and their helmet (forgot the name) for example.

>Gold swapping is buying gold with extra steps LEGALLY

FTFY

so now your point is that vanilla was always pay2win? you dont even know what your position is

Classic is going to flop. Deal with it.

Lionsheart helm.

who the fuck wants to play horde
literal mudhut niggers eating KFC in their designated nigger KFC huts in the middle of every zone (complete with every vendor, more quests then alliance and FP ofc oh and sometimes there is even a zeppelin or free transport thrown in) while chimping on anything that moves in numbers only despite rolling for pvp racials but never actually 1v1ing to use them
then porting into their literal mudhut nigger KFC city called "orgrimmar" more like ogreshit lol blizzard literally took some somalian shithole town and copy pasted it into wow to give that authentic nigger feel to the faction le monster races br0 check out these NO SHOES so whacky better name myself something fucking retarded like boogerbones to fit in btw get owned kid totally bg queued out of that 1v1 close one

Woah it's just like in private servers... only you pay real money for GMs pretending to be chinese gold farmers to generate money and give it to you...

This is a lot better than the money at least coming from someone who legitimately obtained it instead of the market being flooded with GM-generated gold and items...

There's also the gloves with expertise on them that's BiS for everyone but Humans for the entire expansion.

Gold is useful for raid consumables and epic mount.

Not gonna effect PvP in a meaningful way.

BASED

retailtrannies must really be scared huh?
sad

>What are PvP and Raid carries.

FUCKING LMAO

Nothing will ever be the same again. Selling services will be as prevalent as it is in BfA.

PvP carries?
in Wpvp it won't matter ether way... and in BG's there's always people being carried no matter what.

Raid carries, sure, top guilds will do that, but who cares? if ur spending 10k gold to be run through a raid ur playing wow wrong

>Fantasy game
>Wants to play a human in a familiar boring human city
Kek why don't you just wagecuck irl instead? I want to play as an orc savage and electrocute the gay out of alliance transexuals

People will be min-maxing every single fucking thing. Gear Score will be a thing.

based shamanchad
fuck trannies, fuck the Light, and fuck elves

>playing a green human instead of based cow

Gearscore isn't a thing in private server which are way, way more competitive than classic will ever be. So no, gearscore will literally not be a thing.

>Warrior charges you
>Mortal Strike and Execute
>You're dead
See you in Warsong Gulch, faggot.

You are in for a surprise mate.

Attached: GET REEEDY LADS.jpg (1163x988, 120K)

Nice argument.

Retailcucks legit pay 5 million gold for this ugly ass mount (some will buy $800 worth of tokens for it), so those subhumans paying 4 digit gold for MC carries is feasible

Attached: 742674-reins-of-the-mighty-caravan-brutosaur.jpg (652x694, 132K)

imagine thinking you'll be viable in pvp as a fucking ele shaman

>dude shaman are so cool look at this perfectly positioned chain lightning crit from a pvp video!!
please roll shaman based off meme hype so you can get farmed in BGs

Is this like bonds in old school runescape?

I like BfA and I think it's the best expansion so far.
I also hope that classicfags will finally get what they deserve.
A game that they can enjoy just like they did a decade ago.

Attached: 1535689148292.jpg (960x717, 346K)

Yes, but you can't buy it on classic.
You need to buy it with money, sell it on retail for gold, then trade that gold to someone who will then trade classic gold to you.
It's basically buying gold with 3 extra steps.

Not quite the same, but it will be similar.

ehhh
I doubt it.
Classic won't be like wotlk where everyone was raiding and thus needed to be geared and scored.
Most people wont even hit 60 probably, it'll be a more social/leveling/world pvp experience

when u do hit 60, you'll want to join a guild to run everything anyways, and if ur joining a guild that cares about GS you won't have fun anyways

What are you talking about? Blizzard already stated that they will allow non-game breaking addons on Classic.

There's nothing to argue about.

The thing is that gearing a Character in Classic will be much more time consuming than in BfA.

Who else "More than a NEET, less than a Normie" here?

> enjoy your simple, stress-free, contracted warehouse job, every day brings something new, constantly sent on additional courses, meeting lots of people etc.
> work 8 hours a day, cut the Fridays every time it's possible
> make more than enough money to afford your own place, food, clothes, fast internet and anything that you feel like buying most of the time
> generally enjoy the social interactions with your mates, but not to the degree of hanging out with people every day
> finish another easy day at work, get some groceries and get back home
> commit a mandatory minimum 20 minutes a day to clean my place, it makes you feel better if you don't live in filth like most of the NEETS
> cook something quickly for 2-3 days or get the takeaway that is not from Abdul
> not really depressed or lonely, so copes like alcohol and drugs have no place in my life
> enjoy the rest of the day playing CLASSIC WOW with your online friends

I'm just enjoying my peaceful and happy life. I don't need a wife, kids or even a dog. I'm happy that I won't have to play on the private servers anymore, and I really hope that Classic Servers won't end up flopping hard after a year.

That particular item won't be in the game for a long time.

On the other hand, you could definitely pay gold for a select item in a raid, the guild would just take you along. Most of the time this was only available if their own members got their gear so again, it won't happen immediately.

I can't believe you're making me type this out.
For Gear Score to be useful it needs to be used by a very high percentage of the playerbase.
If no one is using it on private server, which without a shadow of a doubt have a much more competitive and tryhard playerbase than classic will ever have aren't using it. Then classic players won't either.

Reminder if you're a wagie you won't be able to enjoy Classic WoW. You will be too tired after work and home chores to log in, and even if you do log on your hour of game time before bed will barely get you a quarter of a way through a level due to the slow exp rates of Vanilla. Because of this you'll be socially stunted and unable to join a regular group which i mandatory for not only progression but also enjoyment of the game.

By this logic every game in existence is pay to win.

You're wrong.

Attached: 1541719657264.png (163x192, 89K)

I'd actually argue that wagies will enjoy Classic WoW more because it gives them a chance to unwind after a long day, and something to look forward to. Meanwhile NEETs will just consume and grind the game to the point that it'll become their life.

I'm willing to change my mind if you come up with some arguments.
Also I'll be doing my part as a prot warrior and kicking everyone who as much as mentions gearscore out of my group.

I'm going to main tank as paladin in my guild

have fun 5 man tanking

>you will be tanking in most situations instead of your SICK DPS skills:

Any raid worth it's salt will have as many fury warriors as prot.

The stupid thing about that is you don't even need to be geared to run Molten Core. When my guild (and I use that term loosely as when we first went into MC, we didn't have 40 people so we grabbed a few people from other guilds who also didn't have 40) first went into MC, most of us still had a few greens on. The really well geared people had all blues, and our Main Tank somehow had two world drop epics. I didn't get my first epic until the first time we dropped Kazzak almost 14 years ago to this day (April 15th, 2005). Our first Lucifron kill was on 3/26/05.
In any case, going back to old screenshots aside, MC was and will be easy. The tough part is getting 40 people together. Stuff didn't start getting actually hard until Ragnaros and BWL.

Let's say i'm a retailfag who plays both retail and classic

And let's say i'm someone who farms gold to play the game for "free"
Why the fuck would i bother making a 60 and then farming gold on classic and then gold swapping rather than just farming it directly on retail with one of my already maxed out horsecock tranny characters?

Now, let's say i'm someone who has a retail rooster but also have an interested in playing classic, why the fuck would i get rid of my gold on a version of wow where gold is 100x more useful?

I'm not seeing any advantage or reason for retail players to do any gold flipping, unless you're quitting classic after farming thousands of golds or have a very effective gold making ungoro mafia thing going on (DM gold farming won't be effective for gold swapping when fucking everyone and their grandmas know about it)

I mean, if they have that many geared warriors, sure. It is a bitch to gear up that many.

>Why the fuck would i bother making a 60 and then farming gold on classic and then gold swapping rather than just farming it directly on retail with one of my already maxed out horsecock tranny characters?

Because people would rather not play the game at all?

Attached: 5i1d4z01.jpg (1382x1022, 477K)

You aren't trying to get gold on retails, you're trying to get gold on classic and you do it by trading gold from retail to classic(indirectly) and you're getting all that gold in retail by buying a wow token and selling it on the AH.

It's going to happen, how prevalent it will be I don't know. It'll probably take some traffic away from gold sellers, that's for sure.

>going to play warlock or rogue
>this will not happen to me

i'll still look like a clown though since warlocks obsess over shadow dmg

It's basically designed for wagies. Something familiar and easy is perfect for being tired, and not being able to get much done means no pressure to accomplish much or bother trying to raid. A massive % of players used to enjoy just playing the game, rather than hitting end-game in a few days and having the only thing in front of them being multiple versions of the same raid.

Warlocks probably look alright until ZG.

I hope you have fun, user.

Rogues are one of the few classes that actually like their tier sets, but have fun rolling against the other 5 rogues.

based retard

so what youre getting at is someone who plays classic wow will have an abundance of gold in bfa for some reason and someone in bfa will have an abundance of wowclassic gold for some reason?

See Yes right? Because people living in the year 2018+1 still haven't figured out how to create reputation rating systems in third party websites am I right?

hence half the reason NU-WOW is shit, dead meaningless economy caused by token inflation

Yes. But this alone is not the problem. The problem is that you can Buy WoW tokens using real money. These tokens can be exchanged for a month's game-play time.

So in the end, no one needs to actively play BfA. BfA is just the platform where you make the exchange.

You can make the amount required through easier means than leveling up to max in goddamn vanilla, gearing up enough to sell things for gold and then taking the time from your life to boost people in a game that you most likely don't even want to play just to earn some cash in BfA.

>in a game that you most likely don't even want to play

You killed your argument.

>This is why they should have separate subscriptions.
Why would Blizzard split their audience when they profit from the WoW token? The retards that will have to spend money on multiple tokens to buy carries/BoE's would have just done the same with illigetimate gold-farmers in vanilla. I'd rather have a way to play for free at the risk of inflating the price of BoE's than having a smaller community.
I can see them adding the bond system from OSRS out of neccesity if their GM's are flooded with scamming reports due to this loophole and banks start asking Blizzard why the fuck people are spending so much money on tokens only to demand refunds.

Ok tranny

Why do you stick large objects in your ass if you "don't even want to play it"?

classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/shaman/AAPPDTME8MFPKA

How is this spec for a shaman? 0/22/29 focused on totems.

At this point you may as well just ask for their PayPal and skip the BfA step all together

Classic is better for wagies than retail, no doubt. With retail you basically have another job, each day/week you have a checklist to go though. Classic lets you play as you want, which is perfect for the wagie that has one or two days off each week.

Why not just be transparent and also add Tokens to Classic also?

Are people too stupid to understand that this will actually indirectly happen?

>Borderline RMT
>Pay to Win
OP is a faggot

this. i dont understand why people think you have to no life classic. most of the people i remember from the classic days were people with jobs and kids

Raids require some serious no lifing to sustain resource expenditures.

for what, enh is only good for leveling, and this is not a leveling spec.

>Player 1 buys a WoW Token for 20 dollars and redeems sells it on the auction house for gold to another player (Retail)
>Player 1 trades this his Retail gold for gold in classic
>Player 2 then uses his retail gold to pay for his subscription
>Both players realize their IQ is 70 or so because player 1 could have just bought him a much cheaper 30 day prepaid card
Please stop thinking buying a token with gold=stealing 15 dollars from blizzard or it being a "free" thing, someone has to buy the tokens with real money.
You're also making no fucking sense with this.

Retard.

Is classic gonna have that old shitty ability delay that made you feel like you're always playing at 300ms ping?

it was fixed mid tbc or something

>fuck elves
only female elves tho

t. Thinks wow token is produced out of thin air

Stealing money? Are you stupid? It’s the exact opposite.

I think there's little anyone can do to deter or stop gold-swapping, it's basically inevitable due to the crossover that comes from being two versions of the same base game.

99% of people have this strange and mongoloid belief that tokens are created out of thin air and you're just giving gold to blizzard in exchange for "free" play time.
What you're doing is paying more money for a sub, just not out of your pocket.
Also I don't get what is the issue with Classic and retail having the same subscription, you should be thankful they have the same subscription, if for a second you think blizzard WOULDN'T jump into the opportunity to make paypigs pay double, you're delusional.
Also ToS wise, trading gold between classic and retail is out of game means because they're two different games, it'd be like exchanging blizzard games for ingame gold between players.

Spell batching is confirmed to be in, which means all ability activations sent to the server will be executed in batches every 400ms. It was originally removed in WoD.

However no one's been talking about serverside cast queueing, which was implemented in WotLK. Before that, unless you were using addons to get around it (which people only got wise to in late vanilla or early TBC), your ping was effectively added to your cast bar.

So, we agree?

>ToS

Fucking Lmao dude. If this means buying more tokens, Blizzard will ever stop it.

Who ever said that tokens appear out of thin air? Blizzard makes extra cash with tokens simply because you are buying a "sub" at a premium price. Why wouldn't they want to sell more you retarded cunt?

Blizzard didn't stop irl money trading and carries for irl money either my retarded friend, at times they did token efforts to stop it but never really did crap.
it is also totally fucking meaningless because if you want to pay your sub with classic gold it'd be a better value to buy 60 day cards rather than to buy 30 day tokens on retail, but again most posts relating to tokens are made by absurdly low IQ retards who get headlighted with "blizzard steal muh childhood blizzard bad!!".

>it is also totally fucking meaningless because if you want to pay your sub with classic gold it'd be a better value to buy 60 day cards rather than to buy 30 day tokens on retail

You are too optimistic I'm afraid.

been waiting forever to play classic
never bought into the whole private server thing
too much drama

Even if tokens did not exist, Gold Swapping will still be a thing.

I hate malware.

You don't even know how malware works.

No they don't. Unless you mean raiding in an elitist guild, then you're right.

Enchanting ofc. Make your own items to disenchant so you can pad out the need to get lots of items once you get higher level.

can you disenchant everything with lvl1 skill in the classic patch?

lmao bfa is on death watch dude

that's what I figured, it's probably easier to just buy leather then level up to get my own. Thanks la

Doesn't mater. You can buy a sub with BfA Gold.
