Future? Hah. It's the past.

lmao soi

vr is a meme, nothing but indie shit and recycled AAA scrap

you get used to it, some games are really bad, particularly ones where you can free move or really any game that moves your view around without your input. most vr games have teleport movement for this reason.

I have 100+ hours in VRChat and I will tell you right now it's literally the only reason to have VR. I tried DESPERATELY to play other games but they're just so fucking awful. VRChat is literally just an MMO where you can hang out and make friends which is the only reason it's playable in the first place + if you're intelligent you can have a blast making models and animations for it.

>buy PSVR
>use it
>everything except the dead center of your vision is smudgy as shit
>moving your pupils in fact does almost nothing because of this
>the only way to see outside your literal 20 degree fov is to turn your head
>distracts more than immerses
>can't use my standard headphones with the headset
>games look like utter shit in VR mode
>play vidya for 30 mins
>get a headache

Here's the thing faggot:

You could instead get paid for modeling and animating.

The only game that looks slightly interesting on VR is Beat Saber. Anybody here know if it's actually good?

It might be caused by a too low framerate in your VR environment or simply because you're genetically very susceptible to motion sickness. Probably the latter.
I've never owned a VR set but just because some wojak posting faggot gets queasy from one doesn't mean everyone will

its ok, was hoping it would be easy to add my own songs but its really not
and it'd be interesting if there was a story or something, they are adding something like that in the final release whenever the fuck that comes out

what a retarded thing to say

You're just too poor to understand.

Not that guy but I'm practically immune to motion sickness and VR makes me nauseous and gives me headaches, even after giving it plenty of time trying to acclimate. I think it's a different kind of inner ear disturbance than typical motion sickness, because of the complete lack of actual motion stimuli.

>you play video games? why don't you go become a twitch streamer then?
I bet that sounded smarter in your head

Ah i get it, all these "V-VR IS DEAD" memers are just genetically inferior

>(literally) being a subhuman
lol

i have only felt like spewing in two games
vanishing of ethan carter
slime rancher
and the only reason i tried them is because i played the non-vr versions first and wanted to see what it was like in vr. both of them had been designed as non-vr and just had the vr stuff slapped on after and it really shows

if you are just getting into it just start with "The Lab", its free from valve and has some fun minigames

You could try not being a weak faggot.

weak genes.

You'll get used to it, you just need to grow a pair of sea legs.

This is just extended wagglan-gimmick resonance from the Wii / Kinect era.

People don't want inconvenient peripherals. Realism isn't fun. The true next step is a brain-interface that plugs into some chip everyone is eventually going to have.

It's not virtual ""reality"". It's just a screen that's really close to your eyes and a motion sensor.

Stop being a genetic dead end

if the valve index fails to sell, vr is finally over

i bet it will fail hard

You need to learn to adapt and avoid VR games that can make you feel sick till you build up tolerance. (Stuff like R.I.G.S, Skyrim VR, Subnautica)
In my first exposure to VR I went overboard and overdid it, and I remember feeling ill for the rest of the day.
Now I can jump into VR no problem. Unless it's something like Subnautica in VR then it's a bit troublesome with the free-motion of movement and camera.
I can turn in VR, I can move quickly in VR. I can't really do both at once yet for longer than an hour. But I can be in VRChat a whole day if I wanted to. Just feels natural to me.
My advice is to grab a cheap desk fan and point it at your face whilst you build up that tolerance. That, and remembering to breathe in deep through your nose once in a while will reduce that sim sickness a lot and eventually you won't need it at all.

>I can't afford to pay a one time entry of 400 dollars so it sucks and I hate it , let's shitpost until it dies

VR is a complete meme. I own mine for the sake of porn, pinball, sims, and because it's sadly the best home solution for old-school light gun games right now, despite the fact you have to hack everything together yourself.

The "games" are indie dogshit, half-baked concepts with 20 minutes of playtime. The support is an absolute joke and every single fucker working on this wants to nickel and dime you to death because he knows how to implement a shader. It has no future, and I absolutely cannot recommend it to 99% of people. If you're unlucky enough to like the same kind of shit as me though, you're probably dumb enough to blow a few hundred bucks on this stuff.

just keep going, fucking sleep with that bitch on, I threw up all over the place the first day but after a couple dozen times you barely even get nauseous anymore

>The true next step is a brain-interface that plugs into some chip everyone is eventually going to have.
Something like that is so ripe for abuse that I'll never install one. It's like powering your phone with your heart.

>I already feel queasy after 15 min of playing
your gene pool is weak

Sounds like a software problem rather a hardware problem.

It's never been the future of gaming. It's always been the future of porn.

>MUH FOOD ANALOGY

Remember when people complained about emotion sickness if they read in a car? You know, before mobile phones were a really big thing?

Man the fuck up, or be left behind

he's full of shit
he bought one of those shitty ar (augmented reality) headsets that microsoft paid hp, dell, acer etc to make

VR is a meme in its current state, and shows no indication of becoming the future of gaming in the foreseeable future.
However, if it makes you nauseous it's because you are a genetic defect.

>beat saber
>add a story
come on bro, do you have to be so fucking soi ?

>sees modeling and animating in the same sentence
>thinks modeling therefore means like, a person on a cat walk, instead of 3d fucking model making, that you would then animate

Try not being a genetic failure

>emotion sickness

Sure, those are all software problems. But they all stem from the basic fact that the hardware is incredibly niche and not compelling for the vast majority of games people actually play.

If I want a short arcade experience, VR is fantastic. I really hope it takes off, because then we could get some serious hardware improvements, my dick would unironically explode if someone released even a kit that let you track a Namco gun with solenoid recoil. Most of the other hardware failings will likely never be solved in the home market though, because buying a 6dof robot that holds a tracked bar you can use as an input device for melee weapons isn't something most people can afford, and without buyers you're never going to get any support outside of tailor made arcade set-ups.

I bought a Vive, I can't see any fucking point in owning any device less accurate than that.

>waah video games make my tummy hurt :(
LMAO

VR hampers your ability to reproduce which means that people that get sick are the actual genetic winners here while VRfags die out.

>you can have a blast doing this job for free
>why not just do that job for money
Sounds reasonable to me

Resident Evil 7 on VR is absolutely amazing.

>OP never responds to any of the comments
So this was just a way to jump start a VR thread, right? Sounds good. GalGun 2 lets me adjust my height and I have been enjoying playing as a manlet that is a head shorter than some of the taller girls. What games other than this and VRchat let me make myself small? A game that lets you play as a bug sized character seems like it would work really well in VR.

a lot of people have the same reaction to first-person flat games, as well. stop being a casual and adapt.

I went in a car and Im queasy after 15 minutes how is that future of transport

it will sell less than OR and Vive for sure

I didn't like the controls and resolution sucks, so I couldn't play it for more than 2 hours. Aiming with your head was pretty neat, though.

>emotion sickness

Based and sizepilled

Attached: 1.jpg (500x365, 32K)

What? I get nauseous if I read in a car. It doesn't go away.

Okay, /pol/cel, gonna tell me about how 5G is the new mind control scheme by the juice too?

I'm talking about the simple fact that a person holed up in VR will never have a gf.
Stop taking shitposting seriously fucking resetera tourist.

I used to not get sick in cars but now it happens, it might be because I barely ever leave my home now but still it's pretty annoying.

>I have 100+ hours in VRChat and I will tell you right now it's literally the only reason to have VR.
>you can get paid for making generic template-based kawaii uguu anime girl skins
>Half-Life 3 machine will sell badly

this thread is hilarious

>Half Life 3
sorry Im not delusional

I wonder why he even bothered blurring the knuckles when their shape is obvious and they aren't even under NDA like the HMD.

half life 3 is never coming you mong

Reminder that we will be getting a another factorykino for the Index.
