Or at least less the case in Nasu's instance, even the protagonist is guilty of rape under some circumstances and SHIKI's case is a mixture of supernatural genetic-induced insanity and manipulation and there's at least a degree of empathy that can be granted to make his character credible. This is less often the case with Uro, to be frank.

If you're talking about Extella, it's almost as bad in its misuse of Servants and retarded plots, but at least it's not a cancerous as FGO, they don't have anywhere near as much negative impact on TM due to being less profitable, they have a more limited cast size so they can't introduce as many retarded Servants, they have 1 or 2 writers rather than a multitude of them that clash with each other, they have 1 artist and a uniform art style, and they come out as finished games instead of drip feeding content over years. Also, their fanbase is pretty much already established (though they are trying to appeal to FGO's now) so they're not as much of a tertiary magnet. The lack of a gacha keeps away a lot of braindead "people" as well.
Obviously it wouldn't save TM from its garbage state and it's not really the kind of TM urban fantasy content I want, but I would still take literally anything as a "main project" over FGO.

It's magecraft and she didn't survive. The body she had died without doubt, but her soul was able to transfer to the other body since it was a perfect copy and therefore a perfect alternative vessel. It's very similar to what Roa tried to accomplish (and also Zouken, kinda) but because she didn't forcibly try to extend her body's limits (like what Alba was suggesting) she hasn't suffered soul deterioration.

I dunno about Celestial Bodies being a perfect fit, though I don't really know what it does. Aoko's skills in magecraft are utterly average aside from her talents in destruction (though she does know the theory). If Rin had the same level of experience she could probably beat her.

There's hints towards it in the first game. Literally from the start when she tries to save that kitten as a child, and also her obvious reluctance towards killing Soujuurou. That conflict between a normal life and one of a magus is probably a reason why she eventually said fuck it and carved her own path.
This is also why I consider magi characters to be superior to Servants. They're allowed to have room to grow. Servants stories are already done for them so it's like reading a Pokedex these days.

Nasu's writing is notoriously difficult to translate well. VNs are retardedly long and the monetary benefit is minimal for the humongous amount of time needed. It's just not a very good story compared to Tsukihime and Fate (music is dope, though). The sequel is stuck in never ever limbo with the Tsukihime Remake, so you're basically translating the first part of a story that may not ever be finished.
