Is it worth getting professions that compliment each other in vanilla, ie mining and smithing. Or can you make shit loads of gold by having 2 gathering professions and just selling shit. I was thinking of going herbalism and skinning

Never played classic. Did world queuing\everything being instanced exist back then? I want to actually run into 3 guys doing something and ask to tag along, I haven't been able to do that in a game in fucking years.

rogues can lock pick and disarm traps
locks can summon, give out health's tones, soulstone people
shaman can use farsight. sentry totem let you switch between viewing your character and the totem.
there were a lot of 'detect' spells, hunters could detect beasts and paladins could detect undead/demons

mage because warlock is poop early game and gets shit on by meeles if not running a meme sl or succ conflag spec. kinda wanted to make a rogue, but seeing how they are less useful in raids and dungeons while being just as overplayed as mage, I see no point. maybe an alt to gank in enemy cities. hunter can also be fun to fuck with rogues, but has nothing to offer late game.

I played in 2005 and I thought that vanilla would feel too slow and the QoL changes implemented in the time since would be sorely missed but I played a bit on a private server recently and it's fucking great. clearing a fucking camp of troggs at level 15 is more engaging and fulfilling than anything I've done in retail for years

About Gaylo you are correct. It was pure shit even back in it's original incarnation. Gaylo was always an over hyped, overrated pile of unplayable dogshit. WoW on the other hand.... that's a different story. Original WoW was a masterpiece of not just MMORPG but RPG gaming. Playing on a hardcore RP server is something I miss like a motherfucker. I'm so hyped I can finally go home. Finally go back to the real Azeroth. Yeah, you had to do quests for all of your demons, even a short one for Imp. Druids has quests for their forms and Shamans had quests for their four elemental totems.
