Well since you are new I'll give the most important advice for new players: SOAK THE FUCKING LANES.
XP is the most important thing in this game since a talent tier advantage can pretty much guartee a win in a teamfight, so don't leave lanes empty and soak. After level 10 it's okay to regroup.

I mean, you will probably die, but don't die needlessly.

If you chase an opponent hoping for a kill and you're ganked by the rest of his team, you're doing a bad job.

Don't try to trade kills, if you kill one enemy and die in the process, it was a bad decision on your part.

If you're a squishy hero with no real escape abilities don't overextend while solo on a lane. Especially when the enemy team has a character that can catch you easily.

Also at early game kills are not that important, don't prioritize them. Go top or bottom even when your entire team is going to mid team fight at the start of the match. Well, unless you have enough power to go through their team, some turrets and possibly a keep. You probably don't

After watching a tutorial on stutter stepping, it seems like a neat idea though it might be abit hard to use with characters that have movement options in the skills (though I guess those movement skills are the get out of jail free card for squishy heroes thinking about it).

I guess bodyblock is getting in the way of things so they don't escape? Seems like a good tactic for heroes that have decent mobility but can also tank damage?

Works both way, either you stop an enemy from retreating, or you get in the way of skillshots that would harm your backline.

Just be sure to be near the minion wave when it dies to get the xp, you have more or less 30 seconds between each wave, so if you clear it fast, you can quickly rotate to another lane to try to gank someone and then come back.

When I played HoTS I quite liked it and I wished it was more popular, but looking at some of it's videos is quite a mess to follow what's happening on the team fights, on LoL or Dota 2 is more easier to see what each one is doing or what is happening in general.

Seems like it's all balance updates for now. Hopefully we get more Nexus heroes as I find Orphea pretty fun to play.

also kiting is usually used in pve games as well where you are dragging out fights to min/max stuff. pve is mostly either kiting or deliberate spam to exploit the engine (effectively a permanent dodge.) actual stutterstep will help in terms of speedrunning but maybe >90% of players don't want to work that hard in those games.

it gets easier once you know the game. ultimately they are all logical. you know one team is waiting on a certain thing to work or holding another as a response so it becomes more linear. downside is watching high level solo streams is pretty much a waste after that. fights with even the best randoms are miles off of two top teams. and there's only so much to pick up from solo lane type stuff.
