It's funny, but Japanese are the only ones evem remotely doing that. Here's the biblical Archangel Michael, for instance.
West only does pop adaptations, which depict angels as little babies with wings. Jesus as this tall, handsom white man and not a poor Arabian fisher turned rogue rabbi. Moses is, again, a white and virtuous leader instead of a Hitler-like racist and fascist conqueror who led a cult to massacre lots of innocent people all over the Middle East and fabicated all sorts of stories about the people there simply because they had a different skin color to his (like all the bullshit about enslavement in Egypt).
