Certain ships have decent all round cockpit visibility, but not many. I haven't had a problem looking backwards in them with a vive.

It's a spacesim, of course it's 6DOF. You can pull off nice moves by turning off Flight Assist and using lateral and vertical thrusters, pretty much a requirement for some tougher fights.
