IMO SC1 and 2 are great to watch, and SC2 is the best it has been. Lots of very interesting games, some shitters too, but it is 100x more interesting to watch than when SC2 was new. Check it out. Tastelots and Artytosis should be casting.
Blobing is still a tactic but there are plenty of interesting counters and strats aside from that.

Terran is both the weakest race and the strongest.
It is the best designed race by far, the most versatile and deepest, and has the highest skill ceiling. Maru is demonstrating this.
Therefore to 'balance' the game protoss and zerg have to have artificially strong units and mechanics to compensate for the fact that they have much lower skill ceilings, and Terran has to be gimped to give them a chance.

Unironically this, only ZvX matchups feel different, every other matchup has flaws - (P)hoenix vs (P)hoenix, (T)wobase timing vs (P)ressure, (T1)units vs (T1)units.
Overall SC2 feels like cancer patient with remissions, sometimes it looks alive other times it rotting on a deathbed.
