Vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2

So we hipster vampires now? Seattle of all places? Why not NYC or make it more intensely interesting with San Diego and the Mexican border or what not. Why Seattle?

What's wrong with Seattle? San Diego is a third fiddle city. NYC is overused as fuck and actually very difficult to do open world due to the size of the place. LA was already used. Also making it "by the border" would increase political commentary

Attached: 1553714965014.png (771x366, 63K)

>San Diego
you have to go back

What information do we know about clans and general story?

this, NYC is waaaaaay overdone. I live in San Diego and I dont think it would make for an interesting setting for VTMB. Compared to other cities it doesnt feel "big". Other than downtown and Coronado I cant think of anywhere that would make good hub locations and the two I posted arent very good as is.

>NYC

They could literally do a 1990s rendition of NYC. It’s perfect given NYCs sewer and subway system. Overall ghetto ass Bronx and Harlem. Midtown Manhattan. All kinds of clans and sects and monsters dividing the city into a urban jungle war.

Not much on the story. You start as a thin blood, victim of a mass embrace, and like the first game it opens with you in court. You're interrogated for what you know and saw during the embrace, and then sentenced to death, but not before the court is firebombed and you're given a chance to escape.

You get contacted my mysterious vamps, including a woman (probably in the green dress in the trailer), who teach you the ropes. At some point you'll have the option to join a clan, though specifically how is not known (diablre maybe?).

Rest of the lore is taken from V5 with their own flavouring. Elders are feeling the beckoning, the call to the East. Camarilla are paranoid of technology. Second Inquisition is hunting vamps. Sabat are now The Ministry.

No clans confirmed yet, but five playable at launch, with Brujah and Tremere heavily implied to be two of those. Post launch playable clan DLC to be added, and free.

With San Diego you could write up an open world of Urban Sprawl and border frontier with Mexican Sabbat waging war on Camarilla and Anarchs while dealing with Kuei Jin and Technocracy from the military bases and werewolves in the country side. San Diego has so much potential.

Aw, thin blood. Should make for a very interesting story given what they are. And in some cases able to walk in sunlight.

So even more difficulty at upholding the masquerade in the era of social media.

Is that Christina Hendricks??

It would just be L.A.
It's not different enough of a setting and nobody would pick San Diego over L.A.

The city it's set in doesn't matter nearly as much as the content of the story itself, which is what we really ought to be worried about given the writers for this game.

>V5

I’ve already read some of it. Can someone bring me up to speed. The U.S Government is award of vampires now right?

no

SD user here, I love this city waaaaaay more than LA but it isnt the type of city fit for a vampire game. The mexican border isnt that interesting there is a shitty strip mall right there and that is it. I live in Imperial Beach which is the last beach then its mexico and this is probably the most boring part of SD.

The problem with SD is that its very wide and open. The city doesnt have huge towering skyscrapers like most cities do and everywhere else only looks nice during the day.

If I were to pick a different city Kansas City would be perfect.

I live in KC, why would KC be perfect for vampires?

I'm just glad a video game remembered that there is more to the US than LA and NYC

Looks the exact same.

Yep, they cracked the Schrecknet and freaked the fuck out.

*tiddy sucking noises*

Vampires love to talk a big game in WoD but match them up to a SWAT team with assault rifles and they ain't shit.

>but match them up to a SWAT team with assault rifles and they ain't shit.

*unzips celerity*

it's all well and good being a big dick vampire with magic powers until a hunter with true faith shows up and completely negates them making you just some fuck who burns in sunlight

Isn't true faith really, really rare? I could probably go 2 centuries without running into someone with it.

a True Faith Hunter could wipe the floor with 99% of all vamps

>Isn't true faith really, really rare? I could probably go 2 centuries without running into someone with it.

The game is already known to be set in the current time, or at most, like 2 years in the past. Making a 90's NYC in 2019 would probably annoy a lot of people for inaccuracy.

I don't think San Diego has much interesting about it to be included. What is going to be there? Sea World? The zoo? Comiccon? I guess I could see the zoo being in. Seattle is at least the largest city in Washington. Also keeping it in the same state could make it too similar to 1. Not sure how much the vamp politics of CA changed between 04 and 19.

It would give a good excuse to bring lots of old characters back, though, as SD is relatively close to LA.

I unironically want a Canadian city (doesn't have to be Toronto). Not sure what the status is of Canada in WoD for Vampires, though. I remember Bloodlines 1 mentioning much of the country being under Sabbat control.

I literally do not care where the fuck the game is set so long as mommy vamp can boss me around there

Seattle's fine with me. It has decent enough variety when it comes to scenery, and it's not done as often as NY or Cali. I would've rather seen a WOD game set in Europe someplace, maybe with some more Gothic settings; but this is fine.

>america
>interesting
lmao they can make african chronicles and it would be the same

Yes and no. Sectors of the USA have awareness of the supernatural and departments have secured funding to source and destroy them. Kindred suspect that NSA monitoring, over the decade, had unknowingly collated a lot of information that just needed to be pieced together and no longer circumstantial expose the truth. And that's what's happened.

The major departments aware of kindred vary in their actual knowledge, based on their own tests and studies, and don't necessarily have a full picture of how kindred work. But they know enough to have the Second Inquisition be a huge, active threat. Hunters are now more equipped and informed and actively tracing vamps.

Biggest changes are that, as said, the Camerilla shit the bed, elders freaked out, and put an assortment of bans and restrictions on the use of technology to uphold the Masquerade. They're aware NSA and other departments are filtering through Facebook, email, phone calls, and what not. Tech is still used by the Camerilla but in very limited forms, preferring to communicate Kindred specific stuff through older, trackable means. SchreckNet was hacked, though the extent to what was revealed and how deep it was exposed is up for scrutiny. Either way, enough was seen to fuck it all up. Tremere got fucked as their Vienna Chantry was destroyed in a drone strike under the guise of an anti-terrorist operation, which broke a lot of the strict hierarchical blood bonds and have lead to a lot of internal conflicts.

Anarchs play looser with technology, but even then are wary of how it's used.

Are they only aware of vampires or everyone else too? I imagine they probably suspect the existence of the Garou and maybe demons and mages.

Also do you have the page where they discovered it?

>Canada's vampire population is the usual mix of the seven main clans with a smattering of others. While the Camarilla likes to maintain that it has strong control over the nation of Canada, the reality is that the Sabbat controls the areas of largest population, and the Lupines control the vast wilderness in between. Montreal and Toronto, Canada's two biggest cities, belong to the Sabbat. However, there is no Sabbat presence west of Lake Huron, meaning that the Camarilla rules the Prairie Provinces uncontested. Infiltrated by Japanese vampires, British Columbia stands outside the wars of the Sabbat and Camarilla. Ruled by the independent Prince Sigfried alone, the city of Vancouver is effectively free of sect entanglements and is a model of efficiency for other princes.

>For Camarilla vampires, the question is whether or not the Masquerade can be maintained in Canada. The nation's violent crime rate is much lower than that of the United States, mandating much more caution on the part of Canada's Kindred. In general, Canadian Kindred are fewer, farther between, and much more reluctant to take a human life unnecessarily than their American counterparts. This is not so much an expression of morality as one of self-preservation; excessive violent crime shocks and mobilizes Canadian society in a way that no longer touches Americans. Fueled by public outrage, the search for a violent criminal will prove relentless until the perpetrator is found.

>The miles between cities are too long and too Lupine-infested for ready travel between cities by ground. Blunders can lead to exile, and exile usually means death here. With such intense potential pressure from the kine and lupine alike, Canadian Kindred are usually on their best behaviour and will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their princes in punishing offenders. After all, there's nowhere for them to run either.

Been curious about this. Is the masquerade just dead? Like, if the governments know what is even the point of keeping it up, and how are kindred not entirely extinct by now? Also, how are the Nos not ostricized even more than ever for that? Their carelessness caused that shit.

I feel like this wouldn't help much if they had you in a narrow hallway or room or some shit. Where you gonna run too?

Because the devs live in Seattle

That's literally the reason, and to be fair that isn't a bad reason, if you're going to base a game around a city it makes sense to live near it to have a point of reference

Vancouver could be neat.

How close is Seattle to that gorgeous forest scenery the Pacific Northwest is known for? Is it close to that at all or does it just look like a generic city?

What 2 clans will be left out do you think?

>How close is Seattle to that gorgeous forest scenery the Pacific Northwest is known for?
like 20 feet

Vancouver is an independent city under the control of Prince Siegfried. Siegfried has an extremely tight control on the local Kindred population, only rarely allowing Embraces or entry to other Kindred, keeping the population at maximal 20 permanent Kindred.[1] Killing a mortal, even accidentally, is a crime punishable by Final Death. Clan gatherings are forbidden to avoid conspiracies against the prince. Personal feuds are forbidden from influencing nightly activities and all Kindred are under strict instructions to not antagonize the Garou or their families.[2] His absolute rule and the brutal efficiency in which he enforces his laws allowed the Lupines to confront him and negotiate the Covenant, a non-aggression treaty between both races. The Lupines patrol the borders of his domain, slaying anyone who tries to cross the border.[3] Siegfried has no affiliation to the Sabbat, the Anarch Movement or the Camarilla, seeing them all as elements in the Jyhad. The sects leave him alone, fearing that any violent intrusion will result in Lupine violence.[2]

Siegfried maintains no Primogen council or other offices. The entire city has been declared Elysium.[2] Rumors tell that the Inconnu favour Vancouver as a meeting place when convening in North America.[4] Siegfried has a policy of keeping Brujah, Malkavians and Caitiff out of the city, believing them to be unstable and a threat to public order. Only in the company of a Kindred of another Clan are they allowed inside.[5] In secret, his own clanmate, the newcomer Stalest Coursain, plotted to overthrow him by conspiring with Guttooth, a Garou that claimed to be the priest of Gaia, to incite both sides into violence. The foundation of the Diefenbakker’s casino, however, was what would cause the end of coexistence. With the Garou considering the Covenant broken, the future of Vancouver’s vampires hangs in the balance.

When are we getting a game based in Utah

Vancouver is also the site of the subterranean Great Library, a conjoint effort of the Nosferatu and the Malkavian Methuselah Necross. In it, multiple scrolls and books covering subjects both mundane and supernatural are stored. Access, however, is restricted and the Library is guarded heavily under thaumaturgical wards and ghouled elite soldiers that act as guardians.

Nice. I hope they have some forest areas in the game. Poking around the woods looking for supernatural horrors would be like the early seasons of the X-Files.

I wanna motorboat dem Christina Hendricks tiddies.

>Been curious about this. Is the masquerade just dead? Like, if the governments know what is even the point of keeping it up, and how are kindred not entirely extinct by now? Also, how are the Nos not ostricized even more than ever for that? Their carelessness caused that shit.

It's not quite as cut and dry as the Government knowing in totality. The Second Inquisition still has its own secrecy, and Kindred also still have a lot of control. It's more that the Second Inquisition is less an old order of hunters, and more now composed of government bodies with funding and equipment that make them a very real, targeted threat to Kindred.

If I recall correctly, the Camerilla are actually partially responsible for all of this. They played fast and loose with technology and power, got cocky with the Masquerade, and tried to use mortal departments, agencies, and government bodies against Anarchs and other sects considered a threat without explicitly revealing them to be Kindred. But this backfired as mortals in these departments did their own investigations and started to piece together otherwise circumstantial details that formed a much bigger picture.

Or in short; Camerilla got cocky, tried to subtly play mortals off against Camerilla enemies, but in an age of technology where everything is recorded and people are paranoid they gave away too much and the puzzle pieces were put together.

This just makes it sound like more interesting of a place to be set in, but an entire game in such a place might be a bit much.

Maybe we'll get some mission that takes us there or something. Would be neat for a one off side thing. Vancouver and Seattle are only about 2 and a half hours apart.

What will the system requirements be like

The devs mentioned somewhere that it's going to include raytracing so I guess an RTX/GTX may be needed for recommended?

He exists and is Tzimisce I think. Ironically enough, he's not nearly as evil as most Tzimisce.

Is it ever stated exactly what the agencies found that set them off? Humans tend to not want to believe crazy shit and have a tendency to try and rationalize the unexplained/hard to explain as a sort of defense mechanism. "VAMPIRES" doesn't seem like something the average agency would remotely entertain unless it had some serious proof like a live vampire to show as an example. Ghosts and demons might be more believable for them I feel because humans are more accepting of the divine than other supernatural.

>A geographic oddity persists in the state of Utah: The entire state is devoid of Kindred. Camarilla, Sabbat, unaligned - it doesn't matter. There are no vampires anywhere in Utah
Mormons are definitely up to something

That easter egg wasn't hidden well

Had to refresh myself on the wiki and my copy of V5, but basically NSA cracked SchreckNet and found enough of whatever they found to confirm vampires exist and are all over the world and in positions of powers. Various agencies were informed and the Vatican was contacted, forming a partnership to target and destroy kindred. With the Vatican's witch hunters and knowledge of the undead, and the NSA tracing and targeting Kindred hotspots, organisations, and individuals of interest, the two put their funding together and are systematically breaking down Kindred society.

It's all still very secretive though:

>The existence of the Second Inquisition is a clandestine secret even among the various secret services they draw from. Most of the common personnel only know of coordinated strikes against "terrorists" and similar acceptable targets. Their operations are guided by an intra agency collaboration called FIRSTLIGHT that strives to keep their activities hidden from the public and even their superiors. This has much to do with paranoia; FIRSTLIGHT believes that any government official could be compromised and be a secret slave to a vampire. The word "vampire" is not used in official briefings. Instead, the agents speak of "blankbodies", referring to the low body temperature of the undead that marks them as inhuman.

whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Second_Inquisition

What’s the Technocracy think of all this? Or for that matter the other supernaturals?

But to even master true faith, you’d have to be Jesus Christ himself though right?

Having at least 1 level of True Faith isn't all that uncommon, especially in the Inquisition. Having 10 True Faith, like you said, you'd need to be Christ, who could probably BTFO a vamp just by praying in its general vicinity.

You can't master true faith, you either have it or you don't. It's not something you can buy or improve with XP.

Everyone is scared of the Second Inquisition, but the threat is relative to exposure. Kindred have the specific problem of being so old and closely tied to the mortal world that there's an enormous paper trail going across decades. Hence the whole circumstantial thing. When mortals don't know what they're looking for, the Traditions can be upheld, the Masquerade strengthened, and 500+ year old Kindred can still run massive corporations, infiltrate politics, and rule the world from behind the scenes.

The moment pieces started falling together and NSA/FIRSTLIGHT went over all the data, Kindred first and foremost are the ones with tons of prolific, traceable information and history out in the wild. Hence why the Camerilla shit themselves. In reality, the evidence was always there, and no amount of Masquerade was going to hide them forever.

Unlike Werewolves/Garou, who are less likely to be exposed by FIRSTLIGHT and have their secrets known, because they're nowhere near as involved in mortal social and political life.

No idea about the Technocracy. All of this V5 lore is still super fresh, so there's a lot of WoD specifics yet to be explored.

Despite the rest of V5 being absolute dogshit. I'd rather the doom of the Kindred being from the humans finally getting wind of their bullshit a lot better than some poorly thought out Gehenna scenario.

If anything I'm sure the technocracy would either be backing them or misdirecting them in hopes of keeping everything a secret. Maybe manipulating firstlight towards more obvious problems. If anything the technocrats and firstlight are natural allies

Has Islam or the Middle East ever been explored in WoD? I imagine the Middle East is full of true faith.

>TFW Muhammad may have fought with an Antediluvian

I'm not fussed with V5. I think it gets a bad rap. It's got some dogshit parts but the overall changes to some of the lore work well, in my opinion. Like what you suggest. They did the best with the albatross of Gehenna, still keeping it kinda true but reformed in a new way. The Second Inquisition makes a lot of sense in today's world of technology and government surveillance. I also don't mind the surge in thinbloods, and their investigation into Blood Alchemy, as it puts pressure on the Elders that the thinblood thing isn't going away and might actually need to be addressed.

I also like that the Week of Nightmares still happened. The Beckoning is the only big part that annoys me, because I don't like the idea of all the Elders being swooped off out of the lore. But it's not quite there yet so I dunno.

Yeah there's been a lot of theories that the Trechnocracy is linked in with Firstlight somehow. It'd make sense, or at least they'd know about and like you said manipulate resources to their own targets.

Playing as a malk. Is there a way to hear the whispering easier? A way to get it to show up in the subtitles? I can barely make out what the voices are saying.

Yep. There's an entire sect for Islamic vampires, the Ashirra.
whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Ashirra

The Middle East is a hotspot in V5, because it's assumed most of the slumbering Antediluvians are there. The Sabbat have flooded over to find and destroy them, and elders are feeling the Beckoning, which is them being called to the Middle East assumedly to protect the Antediluvians.

Fuck you, Jew York City is the single most overmemed city in American media.

Seattle is actually interesting, NYC is just fucking depressing.

The worst part of V5 is really just some of the newer characters. Gehenna on a conceptual level never really appealed to me, because what makes WoD cool is mostly the whole "supernatural shit in the modern age" angle, and Gehenna kind of just kills off the Vampires before anything newer can really be explored. I think there's a lot of neat shit you could do with a Vampire in recent times, and Gehenna fundamentally made that impossible.

Nu-WoD has countless problems but getting rid of Gehenna is absolutely not one of them.

I find it kind of boring because the whole "secret world is scared of humans" thing is a little played out at this point. Like in the Underworld movies vampires were almost wiped out because humans found out about them. Or in the Fantastic Beast movies it's mentioned wizards have to keep themselves secret or muggles would kill them all.

I like in the Blood and Wine expansion for TW3 where one character says something like "aren't Higher Vampires scared that if humans find out about them and band together they'd wipe them out?" To which Geralt just laughs, because vampires are so far above humans that even the entire human race isn't a threat.

I know VTMB vampires aren't nearly that powerful, but I prefer the idea that they'd be able to hold their own against humanity and have to keep the Masquerade for another reason (like keeping reality from collapsing) rather than just because humans would kick their ass.

>>The Middle East is a hotspot in V5, because it's assumed most of the slumbering Antediluvians are there. The Sabbat have flooded over to find and destroy them, and elders are feeling the Beckoning, which is them being called to the Middle East assumedly to protect the Antediluvians.

Interesting, taking advantage of the Syrian war. I bet it’s going to take place in Syria. It makes sense because the “land of Nod.” Is centered between Iraq and Israel.

NYC is boring as fuck and has no actual personality. VTMB was distinctly west coast so it makes sense to be there. They already used a california city so to switch it up they went with the most recognizable west coast city outside Cali

Coulda done Chicago.....
Just sayin

Fucking finally, I was wondering when someone would say it.

He could probably literally turn them back into humans

Take your donut steel overpowered edgelord vamps somewhere else please

It's really only some of the new characters, which are awful, but easily ignored. Rudi or whatever that trainwreck is isn't even based in the USA, thankfully. I think he's Berlin or something.

The other junk in V5 is really just the authors and artists fixating on dumb shit that doesn't matter, like fashion and sex. All of which can be easily ignored.

>Or in the Fantastic Beast movies it's mentioned wizards have to keep themselves secret or muggles would kill them all.
See, this one seems like total BS because wizards in HP are virtually Gods. They can fucking time travel for christs sake.

It makes sense because vampires in oWoD have very obvious weaknesses. Like fire, sunlight, being defenseless while asleep, etc. If all of human civilization realized that vampires were real and organized to get rid of them then they would get wiped out

My understanding of it is they don't know nearly as much as they think they do, like when they decapitated the tremere with that drone they thought they took out all the vampire leaders.

That vampires have pretty obvious weaknesses, as pointed out, and they are massively outnumbered. I am not sure the kindred to kine ratio but I know there are way more kine than kindred. Even a superior force will get overrun by insane numbers.

hell they almost got wiped out by medieval peasants with torches and pitchforks, they don't want to see a repeat of that with modern weaponry and populations.

Should have been DC

>Kindred-Kine ratio

I think it’s humans outnumber them 20:1

Perfection.

Attached: hnnng.jpg (381x556, 50K)

he could, 10 true faith lay on hands can cure all ailments, like jesus did with that blind man, the curse of caine falls under that catagory.

Yeah this is correct. Basically they know Vampires exist, they have a general idea of what they're capable of, and a vague outline of their involvement in mortal life.

But accurately piecing it all together is still very difficult thanks to the Masquerade. They don't fully understand the strengths/weaknesses of Kindred, nor all the specifics of their political structures. As yeah, they thought the Vienna Chantry was the "Vampire Capital" or some dumb shit.

Makes you wonder what Jesus could do to Caine if they met.

WoD Vampires are pretty weak on the whole compared to almost everything else in canon. A strong Mage could solo kill a horde of Vampires probably.

Try 100,000 to 1, a typical city is only gonna have a couple dozen kindred at the most before it's considered overpopulated, and feeding without causing a mass outbreak of anemic people becomes a problem.

>What information do we know
We don't.

Unstoppable Force meets Immovable object

The thing that gets confusing is most vamps are weak yet the canon also seems to have vampires that just massively outrank most other supernatural shit. Like the methuselahs and antediluvians. Reading through the wiki they come across as near godlike.

mages are an interesting case, I consider them glass cannons, they're human and have all the relative weaknesses of humans (unsoakable lethal damage from being shot for example) but three dots of forces is basically pocket fire for any kindred who looks at you funny.
sure a strong and prepared mage probably isn't gonna die from being shot but you could say a strong and prepared vampire wouldn't exactly play fair either.

Breasts too big
Skin too white

Where is Caine in all this mess?

>TFW the original vampires descended from his second generation are all finally wiped out with the thin bloods reigning in a new era
>Gets to the point all vampires are extinct because the thin blood line evolves vampires back into humans

>Caine then sires a completely new generation as history repeats itself.

Calling it now

He said SWAT not Vatican hitmen.

He ditched his taxi cab and is now an Uber driver instead

He'll show up at the very end, roll down the windows and say hop in

in WtA the way they present kindred as a potential enemy is probably the way to do it, an individual low level vampire is basically a laughable threat to a werewolf pack, an elder with his sights on you will be trouble long before you see him, because the cops are gonna pick you up on bullshit charges, snipers are going to try and skullcap you from a mile away, and so on.
and it turns out your borf should've had more than 5 dots of willpower because that elder is also a ventrue who just commanded you to claw your packmate up the asshole.
mental disciplines are not to be underestimated, and mages are jealous as fuck that vampires can pull of magical-like effects without paradox being a concern.

I kinda like the theory that the woman talking in the trailer is actually Lilith, fuelling the thinblood side of things as a spite against Caine.

She cute

Attached: Cara2.jpg (566x572, 74K)

Caine is generally pretty disgusted by kindred and is sour from what happened in the first city.
He's never gonna embrace anyone ever again, he got burned on that idea harder than he could have imagined.

To be fair, the second inquisition government groups tend to have a hunter with them leading them.

>Why ? Why not ?
Who gives a toss, it's all the bloody same in the end. Couple of different landmarks and your done. If you were interested in something different you'd be suggesting somewhere a bit more exotic.

So in end he will be the sole vampire Demi god walking the earth among his brothers decedents?

I feel like his story will sell up short with that kind of thinking.

I don't see how VTM could work in a place that isn't a modern urban setting anyway.

Caine gets bored and finally just says fuck it and apologizes.

Then the universe implodes.

>Seattle of all places? Why not NYC or make it more intensely interesting with San Diego and the Mexican border or what not. Why Seattle?
Amerilard please. Stop pretending that these memes about distinct microcivilizations on each fucking street of every american city are a real thing.

Antes aren't as strong as they're hyped up to be. They've been Diablerized, gotten their asses handed to them, and the particularly powerful Ravnos got his shit slapped to death the second he woke up.

They're immensely powerful, but the Kindred's general fear of them reawakening is mostly them fearmongering themselves. The Antes are a bunch of jobbers besides Tzimisce.

Funny enough, in the show True Blood vampires basically become maomstream, there's comercially produces synthetic blood and they infiltrate politics in higher up positions. They could go for a more loose masquerade i can even see the anarchs not giving a shit. The problem with that is that you have to somehow put it a major breakaway plot point where there is a major clash between humans and vampires and they get to a point where they have to make compromises in order to coexist because in Bloodlines world humans are really that much of an an existential threat.

that's the nature of his curse, he has to wander the earth for all eternity and when the world ends he has to sit outside the gates of heaven and sulk until he finally admits he was in the wrong.
his one attempt to say fuckit and live like a real person ended with all his kids eaten by their kids.

>All of America is the same
Is all of Europe the same? The US is about the same size of Europe, and if you don't count Russia, then it's way bigger.

I dunno, Ennoia's earth melding is pretty crazy.

Thought I read something about one of them taking a nuke to the face, which is Superman levels of shit power in my view.

Tzimisce being the main threat is not due to Tzimisce itself but the fact that Tremere does what Tremere always does and ruins everything

Well all God wants is for Caine to apologize and mean it.

>other countries don't have cities
I'm sure that's not what you mean to imply but what we do here is take things out of context on purpose, isn't it.

In any case, setting a game in a smaller city with a smaller population only makes the Masquerade more important,

BEST and sexiest waifu coming thru

Attached: 1552939900828.png (1356x799, 263K)

How powerful are vampires like the head of the Giovanni? The vampires who are the originators of their clans but not one of the original clans or that old?

Why would Caine ever want to apologize? He's practically a deity.

they got the gen, and if they can put enough time into it the uncapped advanced disciplines.
but generally they aren't going to be "ten dots in a discipline" monsters that the actual ante's are, they also have a disturbing tendancy to fall into torpor due to the mental strain of trying not to be devoured by the far far stronger soul they ate.
This worked out swimmingly for Tremere.

Get flooded on.

That's not what I was implying. But how does it make sense to have it take place in a city that isn't depraved to hell and back? It's a game about vampires.

Vampire power comes down to both generation and age, the latter allowing them to master their abilities and the blood to grow strong. Diablerie makes Kindred stronger purely by bringing their blood closer to Caine, but in the case Augustus Giovanni time is not on his side. He devoured an Antediluvian, but other Antediluvian's have both the blood and age. They'd be significantly stronger.

It's the world of darkness, no matter how shiny and clean a city is, it'll be a facade that falls away after sundown.

Caine is deified only by Sabbat niggers.

The Gehenna stuff is in a weird state of non-canon and getting rid of shit like that is probably for the better. Some of the end time-causers are so above and beyond the feats of their peers that it's borderline absurd.

To an extent that's the case, but humanity has Mages on their side, and Mages are ridiculously busted compared to even the strongest human weapon. Even without risking paradox, a group of Mages can take down an Ante. That's why Ravnos got spawnkilled.

All things considered, Tremere's not doing too bad for himself. Sure, he's a body swapping vampire mage ghost basically, but he's still a vampire mage and with an astronomical amount of residual power. Tremere's problem is that despite basically being a hacked together Ante equivalent, he's a complete failure of a human being and colossal fucks up everything he sets out to do.

They are OP as fuck.
>Lasombra is a walking shadow monster
>Ennoia fuses with the earth
>Malkavian is a hive mind that body jacks people who are his own blood
>Ravnos is a reality warper
>Tzimisce is alex mercer and has control of two clans tremere and Tzimisce

hell even people like Odin, The All-High should not be fucked with at all. They are dangerous

ravnos got spawnkilled by a bunch of humans

Or did he?

my favourite part about tzimisce is the way he fucks with lambach, like when he was making a show of being diablerized and let just lambach see through the li.

Europe isn't a single country. But big cities share a lot of similarities across entire regions or even the whole western world.

i think that was retcon but yea humanity fucked him up thru tenobullshit and even god was impressed enough to cause the end of the world. Doesn't change the fact it 3 powerful and very old asain vampires plus the tenonerds with the power of the sun to maybe kill him.i don't think they killed him since Chimerstry is OP as fuck and lets you create a new reality or an illusion of something else

It's not confusing at all once you realize that it's a collection of separate game lines rather than one coherent universe. Every game (therefore the majority of supernaturals) follows the same power curve. Freshly created characters are easily killed by higher level members of other supernatural types. The top examples of each splat are almost unkillable and are very good at killing other things. Arguing which one is the best at those things is like asking if batman can guzzle more jizz than superman can produce.

>Every month Jesus invites Caine to his feasts where he aids people over the world
>Everyone is happy and cheerful with hopes renewed and all wounds healed
>Caine is there in a dark corner brooding and pissed
>Jesus comes over to him with a smile, and asks for forgiveness
>Caine says no in a creative and angry way
>Jesus puts a platter of food on his table and leaves, still smiling
>Repeat for thousands of years
You just made me think of a mental image of the 'No way fag' between Caine and God, what the fuck

Vampires are blood suckers who subvert society from the shadows. Makes sense they'd be hipsters in Seattle.

Why would anyone ever side with the Camarilla?

Because Anarchs are fucking idiots and the Sabbat are overconfident psychos?

explain?

I think on the low end it's fairly consistant, at the top end it's all over the place, plus combat is fairly lethal in WoD, you don't have ballooning health points like in D&D so one really lucky hit can fucking end someone.
In general a nubbie werewolf will end a nubbie vampire, if only because they have free access to buffing all their physical stats by three points and aggravated damage from their claws, but other things can complicate this too, my uktena managed to make sun arrows for instance which are way fucking OP against vampires for obvious reasons, but a vampire who isn't a dumbass and uses mental disciplines could screw over a werewolf pretty quickly because all the werewolves free abilities that make them a nightmare to fight are very much physical.

Communist get gone.

>Ennoia fuses with the earth
I take it that the werewolves were not cool with that?

the earth(gaia) is an angel so who cares

Lambach Ruthven is a tzimitsce methuselah who is also a complete and total bitchboy, he's extremely cowardly and often gets caught up in events, and is still walking around looking like a regular human in sunglasses and a leather jacket.
he's the guy dracula intimidated into embracing him, he's also the guy that tzimitsce fucks with, never killing him just making him shit himself.
The incident in question was in 1413, when the tzimitsce anarchs were allegedly diablerizing tzimitsce, lambach was the only one who realized the tzimitsce anarch leader was infact the staked body being eaten, and tzimitsce had taken his place, he promptly ran away in terror.

irrelevent, endtime scenarios for each line are utterly difference, anyways any gangrel can earth meld, handy place to sleep during the day.
Ennoia took it to the next level, and made it so she could open her maw underground and just eat entire cities in one bite.

For a final climactic sequence on top of the Space Needle at dawn.

>a city that isn't depraved to hell and back?
I'm positive even those can be found outside the USA, though I will admit I'm sure you have the absolute worst of them.

As far as V5 is concerned, of which Bloodlines 2 draws from, Gehenna never happened anyway so a vast majority of Time of Judgement is non-canon.

The only major piece V5 took was the Week of Nightmares, thus the rise and destruction of the Ravnos Antediluvian.

Attached: Untitled-1.jpg (942x1194, 551K)

>And in some cases able to walk in sunlight.
I think there isn’t day night cycle.

how powerful are angels in this setting? I saw in another thread that most of them fucked off to heaven

>walk in sunlight
Taking lethal damage from sunlight instead of aggravated doesn't mean you want to ever actually do it, thats still going to end you unless you bring fortitude, do it on an overcast day, and dress up like your going out into the arctic.

Does Gehenna affect the Kuejin in any way?

They're absent, demons are technically angels so look at a low torment demon I guess, though they ARE having to possess people to use their memories as a shield against the memories of hell, earthbound demons are... not entirely sane.

they have their own version, like everybody fucking does, something something yama kings.

Watch dogs 1 already ruined Chicago for games.

I'm pretty sure they are immortal.

Final boss should be the Starbucks guy

las vegas would be interesting desu.

What's theirs like?

I would have been down for Vegas.

So who started the fire that startled the werewolfs?

LaCroix. They literally tell you this. Plan A was for you and Nines to die in Griffith park. Plan B was blaming you for Nines dying and calling a blood hunt on you.

I honestly haven't read into it much, the keui jin fucking suck man, their warmongering to take the west coast is surprising considering they literally cannot make more of themselves.

>bloodlines 2 gets released
>another bloodlines game gets made by obsidian using the same assets
>it's set in las vegas
literally bloodlines new vegas, lmao

Bloodlines did a shit job explaining anything involving the Keui Jin desu. I do appreciate that Clan quest mod that tacks on a quest involving the Kuei Jin and actually explains a lot more about them.

come to think of it Kuei-jin are a lot closer to being wraiths than vampires really, they're kinda like risen, which is what happens when a wraith makes a deal with it's shadow and possesses it's own corpse, Risen are fun, they are straight up the crow.
Though I'd peg risen as nastier than any kuei-jin.

>Europe isn't a single country.
The US is 50 different states ranging from the arctic, to the tropics, to temperate rainforest, to massive mountain chains.

Isn't that Mage central?

>They literally tell you this
Who did?

they all have true faith and it shields the whole country

last I heard it was werewolf centric, they borf'd all over the local vamp population when they pushed their luck.

>Why Seattle?
Devs hometown.
Honestly the best place for a new Vampire game would have been Rio de Janeiro.

>Seattle of all places?
I heard 2 good reasons: 1. there's a whole other city underneath Seattle. when they went to rebuild they built a new city on top of the old. So the potential for arcane underground shit is virtually unlimited. 2. there is a lot of dense rainy forest in the area, which can be atmospheric as fuck.

Thanks. I can never remember which cities are important for each splat.

>when they went to rebuild
after a major fire

What would happen if someone diablerized a shitload of vampires of their same generation? Would they gain any additional power? Would diablerizing 10 vampires of the same gen prevent their soul from getting consumed if they were to diablerize the soul of a lower gen vampire from the accumulated "years" bestowed?

>there's a whole other city underneath Seattle
Fucking this, they have so much to work with

Attached: 1550781330678.png (394x346, 185K)

I sincerely doubt that this is proper canon, but when you diablerize in CQM you get one of the other vampires' disciplines.
literally the only reason I beat Andrei in monomancy was that I diablerized everyone I could. I'd have lost without potency and protean.
it was kino as fuck.

also stated to include alchemy and transforming into bats and mist to open up the world plus verticality

would they turn tzimisce to their human form?

Didn't they already confirm the entire game will take place during night?

unwanted fleshcrafting can be healed as though it's aggravated damage so long as the tzimmys gen isn't lower than yours so... I suppose it would.

She's seen in the mass embrace during the trailer. Outstar did a good video on it

youtube.com/watch?v=Y7nztGQpYGs

Ok? Still a lot of city down there completely shielded from the sun

Why would Camarilla interrogate thin-blood from mass embrace, since they aware that you nothing but Sabat cannond fodder without any valueable knowledge.
Also, Mass Embrace + Diablery means Assamite antitribu

to find out who did it since the sabbat barely exist in the americas anymore.

Because you were one of many and the first they caught. Why wouldn't they interrogate you? The Camerilla have no major leads. You're caught, questioned on if you remember anything, and then sentenced to death.

>Why wouldn't they interrogate you?
Because you knew nothing,

I'm hoping for more lasombra presence desu, they seem cool

They don't know that. They'd be looking to see if you remember anything about the night or circumstances, faces or people, because they're obviously investigating the event (it might not be the first). Plus if it's a Camarilla city you're a neonate who was unlawfully sired, so both you and your sire are marked for death as per the traditions.

Obviously when the Camerilla catch you and fully intend to sentence you to death, they're going to quiz on you the night itself, since they do not have your sire and probably don't know who it is.

>They don't know that.
They should know that

At least that sounds like Vancouver has a German prince and not some pretentious new world neonate in oversized shoes

thing is it's the same bland culture and language and there is no tradition older than 200 years. Thank you America for making the rest of the world the same streamlined shit. "The West", my ass, culturecide it is.
youtu.be/Rr8ljRgcJNM

If all rumoours are truth the story seems pretty borring and doesn't even make sense.

>thing is it's the same bland culture and language
Not true at all. Leave the cities for once.

and venture in Garou territory?

Attached: ventrue.jpg (275x368, 16K)

Is there any records of Jesus at all in WoD?

Europeans took their culture to America. Not sure why you act like it just suddenly appeared from nowhere.

Reminder Toreador are the strongest, sexiest, and smartest clan. You may not like this, but it is reality.

I always thought the Pacific Northwest was a good place for monsters and shit. The climate is depressing and people are a bit creepy

hey since it's seattle we can have it always be raining at night.

They picked Seattle so that it could rain in the game. Expect lots of raining.

Europoors are salty they got left behind.

But Seattle doesn't really rain that much. It has shitty mist-drizzle and is overcast.

It's a trope user.

That's true, but the perception is that it rains a lot.

He was super weakened and even then it took three elders, a magical nuke and orbital mirrors focusing the sun on him directly and even so we're not sure he's actually ded

It should have been Chicago, since that's actually relevant to the lore.

BASED

That doesn't stop it from being wrong or retarded.

As a European I'm just happy to get to experience any part of america, one day I wish to move to the land of opportunities, I would really like to have game set in the square state wyomning!

>Seattle
>story about Sabat returning out of nowhere
>in new WoD Sabat is basically Tzimisce who known for their eastern european origin

meh, I'd rather tzimitsce be a clan we can join, I wanna fleshcraft man.

Seattle on Average Receives 152 days of rain a year and is ranked in the top 50 rainiest cities in the US. The pacific northwest specifically receives more rainfall than anywhere else in the United States. Just because it doesn't rain all the time or it's not the rainiest city in the country doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a reputation for being rainy.

It's literally just Hendricks

How did they get away with this?

Attached: 0241.jpg (1996x2992, 904K)

I wonder what clans are there going to be. I assume the missing 7th clan will be Chad Ventrue since I doubt they'll ever leave Camarilla like Brujah and take part in a mass-embrace thing.

Attached: 1554627084394.jpg (1920x1077, 246K)

Why would a vampire need to have giant fucking tits?

>what antitribu Ventrue
Also, mitsoda-like dude from the trailer isn't Ventrue btw

Additional storage for blood
Aesthetic

Nothing upholds the masquerade like a pair of giant tits.

They look the same as when they were humans? except perhaps pastier.

Will it be accurate and have homeless druggies trying to stab and rape you on every street?

>openly gay Muslim

How did based Rudi live long enough to become undead?

I thought Followers of Set are The Ministry now?

>Sabat are now The Ministry.
Wrong
Followers of Set are now The Ministry

>In secret, his own clanmate, the newcomer Stalest Coursain, plotted to overthrow him by conspiring with Guttooth, a Garou that claimed to be the priest of Gaia, to incite both sides into violence.
Every time something good happens, someone has to shit it up.

Is this titty vampire actually going to be a character?

I think so but depending on who you ask he's either son of God, a very powerful mage, Kindred or a ghoul even

>We purposely trained him wrong as a joke
>t. Rudi's sire
>We purposely raised him wrong as a joke
>t. Rudi's parents

that curly hair guy from the trailer you meet in the first half hour according to journos who saw the gameplay demo, so yes, they wouldn't put a character in the trailer unless they appear int he game

I honestly think São Paulo would make for a great VTM: Bloodlines location. It's got tons of historical buildings tied with legends, the Sé cathedral has a beatiful cript and supposedly even secret underground passages that were supposed to be used by opposition leaders during the direct elections movement against the dictatorship.
The subway and sewer system are quite big too, Nos folk should feel right at home.
It would be a very different cultural setting too, which would make for some interesting writing.

>Ways Out
>Straddling the line between mortality and vampirism, thin-bloods have a choice. While they do not age, and can thus stay thin-bloods indefinitely, most of their kind sooner or later chooses the day or the night. A thin-blood who manages to commit diablerie on a “true” Kindred absorbs not only their power and spirit but also their lineage, turning them into a 13th generation Kindred of their victim’s clan.
>The Camarilla occasionally dangles this prize in front of dusk-born who show themselves capable of running the dirtiest of errands and surviving, offering up a Cainite sentenced to a Blood Hunt as sacrifice.

Going to play the game for the first time, can I make a character that beats the game without ever giving the succ to a human or is it inevitable? (I hear you can slurp up rats for blood) Does doing so actually have any dialog/effects or is it ultimately pointless to try?

why don't you want to succ humans? you can give the succ without killing them. rats are shit, you don't get enough blood from them. there are blood packs but they are kinda expensive and early in the game you don't have much money.

a pointless exercise. Not to mention the first thing you do in the tutorial is succ someone

Nos gain a decent amount of blood from rats. Ventrue cannot gain any from rats. There are also bloodpacks.

what would choosing the day entail anyways?

>is it ultimately pointless to try?
Bingo.

Why? are you from there?

>picks up a game where you play as a vampire
>doesn't want to play as a vampire

Isn't San Diego conquered by the Sabbat? That'd be a short game.
Leave the tutorial and lose all your masquerade points immediately because some shovelhead wandered into an interstate halfway across town.

Too big in the lore.
There's no way they'd set a game in a heavy metaplot city

Not that user, but it's probably more like
>pick up a game where you allegedly struggle against your nature as a vampire
>want to struggle against your nature as a vampire
Never mind that sunlight doesn't exist in Bloodlines and that feeding is only harmful if you totally empty the bar.

>be vampire
>decide to build sanctuary in this city for vampires
>but there are sooooo many bloodsuckers here
>oh I know, I'll fucking burn the city so the humans can build a new one on top of it
Smart fucker.

>Conversely, every thin-blood knows someone who knows someone who returned to the daylight. The story usually goes that they became mortal again by clinging to their humanity until they could hunt down and end their sire, thus ending their curse.

Once nearly an entire coterie got torpored by getting in the way of a Risen that could cycle Pathos every round.

>pick up a game where you allegedly struggle against your nature as a vampire
That's a bit tricky to fully portray in a PC game, but the baseline has always been that you're a monster who feeds on humans, and the question of morality springs off from there. The nature of being a vampire itself isn't the point, it's how you go about it.

ah, it's bullshit and rumours

>Non thin-blooded vampires must use Blush of Life to use touch screens – such as those on smart phones – unaided, which don’t work without the skin moisture and conductivity of the living.

yeah basically so long as a risen is furthering the ends of their passions, to use the crow comparison here the crows would have been revenge, they just basically have infinite pathos to constantly heal and shit all over everyone with.

That's dumb. Playing a game where you're a vampire and actively trying not to do the one thing vampires are best known for, the one thing they do in literally every single interpretation of vampires, is like going to a strip club to eat at the fucking buffet.

I want to put a bag over her face and bind her arms behind her back to hid the 3 head shoulders span then fuck her.

or just buy one of those $1 little rubber pens, or get a phone with a Stylus like a Samsung Note.

In fact, if a simple rubber-tipped pen works wouldn't a corpse be able to use a touch screen?

Some people like playing edgelords, others like playing moralfags. Others just like being contrarian fucks like me.

because they didn't think the touchscreen statement through, luckily the nature of a P&P roleplaying game is you can point this out to your ST and then he can go "oh, fair enough" and then it never comes up again.

you know what's fun about playing malk? when you're not malk your non-compliant answers sounds really edgy and confrontational and I can't be arsed with that. but as a malk you can just think of your character as a spacy asshole, not a malignant asshole. I imagine the other characters just being really annoyed at this idiot in front of them. it's fun.

you don't have to drink on innocents but if you're trying to be morally superior than some stupid gangbanger trying rub you out then you're just daft

Weather and ecology probably. Gloomy rain and spooky forests galore in Seattle area.

Tzimsce are off the scale of cruelty

"However the Cathedral was much more than that, it was a living (or perhaps undead) vessel of mad collective consciousness. The cathedral displayed some very disturbing ambiance, like a pool of blood lined with sitting victims whom you could use as a chair, pillars of grafted bodies, walls of mouths that sang a wailing chorus as you passed them, or the open gallery where corpses remained impaled by stalactites. Those thick stalactites and stalagmites formed the Cathedral's pillars, with bone trusses over which limestone grew and formed an osseous mix of liquid architecture. Either skulls – with their eyes and surrounding muscular structure still intact – thin enough to behold the sea of viscera and floating organs comprised the walls.

Scores of ghouls moistened the eyes so they could blink properly. Even more Revenants conducted the ritual tattooing by drawing charcoal-dusted threads through their victim's skin with bone needles. Later, Yorak and his childer would carefully slough the flesh from their screaming sacrifices, treat the flesh canvas in a preservative, and stretch it over the windows like a mosaic."

Also, isn't smurf literally an asexual organism? Like a slug?

One of the more wacky things I found in the first is the constant re-use of models, even player models. This time, we're finally getting some degree of variety. Apart from shadowy hooded faggots, as the trailer shows

This should be on the OST:

Post vampire music.

Meant to quote

Yeah, and thinking about it it would be really cool to see some more historical figures, even for just a sidequest. Would really drive home the point of how little our thinblood fledgling PC really matters.

So we boring vampires now? New York of all places? Why not Seattle or make it more intensely interesting with San Diego and the Mexican border or what not. Why New York?

*TING TING TING* ahem
FUCK CHESTLETS

>Not making a qt gangrel girl with the pothead history
What are you doin with your life?

Just did a playthrough of Tremere and don't quite get the hype behind them, you just spam bloodstrike and everything melts

Social Justice.
It's a town of rich white kids and the occasional 80% white kid walking around talking about their oppression and woes.

>getting blood packs delivered by Amazon drone

If it doesn't have antifa characters it'll honestly be unrealistic.

>Grout's wife is literally fem Tremere with some clothes changed around and no glasses

burglary of large abandoned homes

Haha there are 4 vamps leaving Lacroix meeting and that is Strauss, female Venture and TWO male ventrue, I've never played as ventrue but I imagine it would be weird seeing your two twin brothers walk out

Twilight

Fucking VtMB won't let me install it from the original retail CDs

we can only hope

homeless jumping

just pirate the gog version.

For my first playthrough as Toreador I only fed on rats and bloodbags after seducing some girls in a bar twice so it's entirely doable and you won't even have to hoard your bloodpool. If you really want to roleplay this correctly you should of course not feed on humans after feeding on rats for fear of passing on diseases. So yes you can beat the game this way.

No one cares about this tranny game

even just demonstrably not the case, and you cared enough to come and comment that, so...

a scholar and gentleman

the game uses the unused player character models at various points, it takes care to never use your own in that manner.

>A Puritan from the 19th century, Smith is driven by religious fury to hunt down and eliminate vampires, mainly in New England. TheCamarillaknows that Caiaphas is one of the most dangerous hunters ever. Thesect'sJusticarshave issued an edict that all Kindred are to avoid Caiaphas. Anyone willfully breaking this law will be put to death. Anyprincewho does not carry out this law will also be put to death. They believe if Caiaphas can be kept away from Kindredvitaefor 20 years he will die of natural, old age.
>a bunch of immortals so afraid of some old dude that they evacuate cities when he comes knockin, just hoping he'll croak eventually
Caiaphas is badass

Seattle would only be good if there’s vampires that got to high positions in government like mayors and judges, and created the homeless epidemic/loose laws in order to have disposable people to feed on

I'm still pissed that the people making this one talked about nothing but real world politics instead of vampire ones apart from the normal world.
Although I hear the new Vampire TTRPG is just as bad with that too after the new guys bought the name.

never heard bout this game, just here for mommy milkers

it would require to accuse corporations like Amazon being under control of vampires as well.

>turning them into a 13th generation
Not 13, you can be a 15th gen thin and jump to 14 if you diablerize a 14, the same way you can jump several gens if you diableriza a higher vampire.

Vampires use ghouls for that

Whats the diffirence between Caitiff and Thinblood?
Is caitiff just thinblood without all the flaws of being thinblood?

And..?

Is Redemption worth playing or just Bloodlines?

Attached: zzzzzzz.jpg (1536x2049, 572K)

Caitiff can be any generation, as far as I'm aware. I think Caitiff just means their sire never stuck around to tell them about the details of the Masquerade or being a vampire.

Caitiff are outcasts with no Clan, thin bloods are lower generations with less power, i.e thin bloods can't form blood bounds or make ghouls.

It's pretty cool in a sense that you get to live through two time periods and actually become a 9th gen.

You're a crusader turned vampire trying to save his pure waifu captured by a Tzcimisce elder.

Of course it's worth playing.

No it's not dead, but it has terminal cancer. Basically all major governments know of the kindred now and get tips from the Society of Leopold. As stated earlier Vampires got cocky, wasn't just the Cam. Schrecknet, smartphones etc all worked to expose the kindred to mortal governments. In 2008 the world's governments launched a massive strike against the Vampires killing nearly 1000 over the course of three months IIRC. Most notably burning the Main chantry for the Tremere in Vienna, but also decimating their populations in London. Also a mysterious force (Antediluvians) are compelling elders to packup shop and head to the middle East to fight each other, and a majority of the Sabbat followed suit leaving many places under the control of Anarchs.

Now what's left of the Cam forbids smartphone use and most internet use and has setup scrubbing teams to police the internet and social media using government connections. It's bad times for Vampires. Really hope they reboot H:TR in this setting.

San Diego is way too splayed out into suburbs to have the "feel" of a city like Seattle, LA, or New York.

Story wise is good, but it looks and plays like a game in the Aurora engine.

Caitiff can mean Thinblood, but it can also refer to what is a divergence of the blood for no discernible reason. For an example, a Venture-Caitiff would have no weakness of their parent blood but would also not have all the Disciplines. They might have Fortitude and Presence but not Dominate, but instead of Dominate they might have something common like Celerity. They are arguably the most hated and arguably feared "bloodline". The Nosferatu in particular really hate them. They are almost always killed upon being discovered, but some live though effectively never earn true respect. The truest form of Caitiff are called Pander who are Caitiff who go through a ritual created by Joseph Pander, a Caitiff, that completely severs you from all blood tie redundancies i.e. if you were a Malkavian Caitiff with access to the cobweb you would no longer have access to it.

Thinbloods have shit-tier blood
Caitiffs are either vampires that were kicked out of their clan or just "embrace machine broke" and the clan didint carried on from the sire
All thinbloods are caitiffs but not all caitiffs are thinbloods

no

Attached: goOVtKT.jpg (2170x3002, 889K)

Isn't the whole thing about fearing thin-bloods is that they have the most potential for creating new disciplines?

fuk

Attached: Bloodlines 2.jpg (1022x2048, 392K)

JK said the sheer numbers+guns would overwhelm wizards

and she said this well before going crazy and retconning something any time anyone asked her anything

Not entirely, no, but Thin-Blood Alchemy is a thing. Caitiff are their own much more interesting subject. Caitiff can theoretically learn whatever Disciplines they want, thins cannot.

>LGBT rights & mental illness

Brujah and Followers of Set are Anarchs

>Followers of Set are Anarchs
Since fucking when?
Also, Gangrel switched to Sabbat

Thin bloods are a sign of Gehena plus degenerated blood lines that's why older vampires killed them

They should do Philadelphia. Plenty of homeless people to prey on and ghettos for action sequences. There has also been an overabundance of crows lately.

Attached: 1527531505409.gif (450x337, 932K)

Lasombra are whatever they please but I think most left Sabbat because reasons

V5
Federal agencies in multiple countries have realized that vampires exist and the power they have over global finance and politics.

A hunting unit, named FIRSTLIGHT, was established to bring down the vampire population. It is also known as the Second Inquisition. They were able to destroy Clan Tremere's Vienna Chantry, the center of the Clan, with a drone attack under the cover of a terrorist assault.

Elders from all Clans have been called to the Near East by the "Beckoning". At the same time, the Sabbat left most of its domains to fight the war against the coming Antediluvians.

The Camarilla has became more exclusive to young vampires and declares every non-Camarilla vampire an enemy.

The Assamites, referred to as the "Banu Haqim", joined the Camarilla. However, the Brujah have mostly left and joined the Anarchs after Theo Bell killed Hardestadt at the Convent of Prague.

The Followers of Set have also joined the Anarchs and are now calling themselves "The Ministry".

Thin-bloods and Caitiffs have become much more common.

The Lasombra will join the Camarilla in the upcoming Chicago by Night 5th Edition.

>after Theo Bell killed Hardestadt at the Convent of Prague
can you tell me more about shit going down in czech rep in general pls

Would the Sabbat even stand a chance against an Antediluvian, let alone a bunch of them? Like how do you prepare fighting one of those even

Important question: Can I kill every special snowflake LGBTQIPBRAAAAP+ character in the game?

isnt Prague the world haven of Malks?

Alsom did V5 reconned Ur-Shulgy?

You try and eat them before they wake up.

I don't think so, they retconned Gehena final events mostly.

I imagine he was giving God the finger the whole time

is there a change for Caine to embrace anyone new?
who was the last one he did?
is he a friend with someone?

he started reking motherfuckers left and right, they shit their pants, and some cried their way into Cama

cool story, gameplay is basically a jank old dungeon crawler..
I always did enjoy putzing around in teh storyteller mode though, in multiplayer.

These threads are full of retard that never read the books

is Beckett alive or dead canonically?

What do you mean? How the bible describes him is how he is in this universe. A cunt or a decent guy depending on who is writing the story.

Depends on the Storyteller.

there's never any direct action or viewing of him, the best you get is angels, which are functionally like a 0 torment fallen.

No
He regrets the whole thing immensely

if you have like so much faith in something, exaggerated amounts of faith in something, you can channel your True Autism and make mortals uncomfortable and hurt supernaturals

what would you WANT to be in the whole setting if you could pick bros?

Attached: wod.jpg (1200x800, 112K)

Well personally I think Caines punishment was a bit of an overreaction on Gods part but since then Caine has done nothing but show his utter lack of remorse and amazingly bad parenting so maybe it was justified

thanks bros

Mage a best

How about a city with some real fucking history like London. Or Dresden. Anything but some yuppie paradise

A spooky boogie went and was too spooky for the Lasombra to boogy and they went to the camarilla for help.

aint there too much shit with other mages and demons out to hunt you down?
how do you feel about the yomi wan and nephandi

>both rise ups and sjws dicks.
Those are the same people.

true faith is a 1 to 10 scale, you'll rarely see more than 2 pips of it though, 9 out of 10 priests lack it so it's exceedingly rare, but if you got it you can do traditional vampire shit like repel them with a holy symbol, make them feel guilt, even burn them by touching the holy symbol to them, there's some true faith shit that persists to modern day in the form of barriers around particular holy sites that prevent kindred access, that sort of thing, but the means to make those are lost since true faith in the final nights is a rare thing and good luck seeing more than one or two dots even when it does show.
at higher levels true faith can do increasingly zany shit, and at 10 which is jesus tier stuff, you can straight up cure the blind, or attempt to cure vampirism, multiply bread, whatever.

Keep in mind that Caine INVENTED murder.

>or attempt to cure vampirism,
Except person with 10 faith would never do it

V5 is non-canon.

youtube.com/watch?v=Y7nztGQpYGs
This video was pretty informative

with 10 true faith they'd be straight up saintly, probably have humanity 10 too, they would more likely view vampires with pity than holy rage or anything.

>with 10 true faith they'd be straight up saintly, probably have humanity 10 too
1) Not always
2) Reread GOD says no salvation for bloodsuckers untill Caine accept his sins

HOWS MY NIGGA CAIAPHAS IN V5
whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Caiaphas_Smith

Attached: Caiaphas.jpg (652x836, 189K)

don't make me go dig up the true faith rules, I know for a fact there are rules for true faith lay on handsing vampirism away, it's not just a handwave process though, there are rolls involved and the recipient has some requirements on their end, obviously it fucking wouldn't work on some 3 humanity sabbat shovelhead.

it wouldn't work at all, because 10 faith denies any questions about God's decisions and commandments

Basically vampire hunters are CIA now instead of weird fanatics in trenchcoats with crossbows. They used a drone strike to blow up the Tremere's Chantry in Vienna, and they're basically a nomadic clan now with most of them signing up with Anarchs and not relying on the Camarilla anymore. Also Assamites and Lasombra joined Camarilla so there's a lot of shifting power going on. Also Camarilla is just at war with all non-Cam vampires and everyone who isn't Camarilla is kill on sight.

I... True faith is not the same thing as faith in god and how closely you follow his commandments you fuckwit, it's entirely possible to believe in anything, a true capitalist could believe in money so much that a dollar bill works as a holy symbol for the purposes of using true faith powers.

>Also Camarilla is just at war with all non-Cam vampires and everyone who isn't Camarilla is kill on sight.
lolwhy? Sure they aren't following patriarchs orders.
Also, how did lasombra antitribu allowed main clan to join Cammie?

Caine keeps suffering final death and then just waking up in a new vampire body. Like every vampire has a chance to experience a failed diablery, and have their body taken over, if Caine needs to wake up. It's just a plot conceit to say he can be anywhere and everywhere just observing.

The new version is written by entirely new people.
Paradox bought the name and cleared house, the new stuff has nothing to do with the old.

But aren't they share some background history?
Like first anarch rebellion, which created Camarilla and Sabat?

Well wasn't a big leap, his brother slaughtered animals. I believe the Bible even uses the same word for the murder as for slaughter, as opposed to kill, murder etc

>open world
Late, but it's hub-based so that really isn't a problem, people should know this by now.

Its set in Seattle? Will there be lots of junkies with diseased blood or will it be more fantasy than real life?

>Also, how did lasombra antitribu allowed main clan to join Cammie?
Don't know yet, it's going to be in a book that's yet to release. Maybe their antitribu is missing like a lot of others.

>junkies with diseased blood
Well yeah, it's all about thinbloods.

I'm pretty sure the plot kicks off with tainted drugs creating a load of thinbloods

Can't wait for wreck Lilith's shit. Cain all the way.

In the Redemption game all of Christians are shown to be either ruthless lunatics or selfish bastards that exploit their positions so figure out for yourself.

I mean if you lived in a world with monsters so powerful that one of them waking up necessitates the use of nuclear weapons and you know there just there because your God cursed a guy, wouldn't you become a fanatic too

There's a screenshot of some dude pouring his blood in some dude's mouth while maybe Lilith is in the background.

Are we gonna get another cute girl as a ghoul slave? Because that was fucking dope.

>force yourself upon someone and make them love you

Uh, does this sound okay to you?

>Take someone's blood against their will
>Uh, does this sound okay to you?

Nobody's hands stay clean.

Isn't that what Caine tried basically

Absolutely.

Pirating it is.

If you actually read those quotes there's nothing especially bad about them.

Honestly, we should. I know that "it was a different time", but edgy stuff like that was what made VtMB unique. Sexuality and rape are vital to the vampire lore (everyone knows that Dracula's bloodsucking was a euphemism for sexual assault), and without that there can be no true vampire roleplay. So fuck being a nice person, I want my female ghoul slaves.

>supporting mental illness

Malk life nigga

>You could play as a member of the mentally-addled but prophecy-gifted Malkavian clan, with altered dialogue that, while humorous, danced a fine line in terms of taste.
They're going to make Malkavian boring, aren't they?

Roleplay is all about choice. If you want to be a psychopathic sexual deviant, nothing should stop you.

Yeah, all fucking three of them with it maybe. Everyone else is getting shit reckd

yomi wan kenobi

>"The second and more biologically-oriented Caitiff, also known as the clanless, are rare Cainites that do not officially belong to any clan. These vampires have no inherent clan weakness, but no inherent disciplines as well. None of the typical clan markers apply to them. Although the Caitiff have manifested throughout history, they tend to do so more frequently among the higher generations, such that the terms "Caitiff" and "Thin-blooded" are often considered synonymous. While there is considerable overlap, not all Caitiff are thin-bloods."

run it on admin mode

Why is Caine such a massive manchild?

How do I do that from Steam?

He's the inventor of murder, being a bag of dicks is what he does.

He's had ~150.000 years perfecting the art

Figured it out, but setting it to be run as an administrator just makes a pop-up that says "Cannot find Steam" when I click the program.

Is there any chance that game will evade being 100% about hipster vampires?

Its dark rainy and clody in seattle. Its where vampires would live.

>muh wikia
Read a fucking book.
Caitiff literally means clanless and that's what it's used for

>Read a fucking book.
V20 Companion page 34 to 35. They have their own clan segment.

Suck. My. Cock. You anti-wikianiggers are less than trash. How you spout shit and almost every time you're fucking full of yourselves. How about you go read a fucking book, cunt.

Im downloading VTMB for the first time, excited to play it
I also looked up before and think its cool that you can play as fucking Nosferatu, since it seems like it completely changes the game

just keep your expectations to the middle.its an old game and what keeps people playing is the lore and story.

make sure to patch it properly, unofficial basic should suffice for your first run.
and like the other user said, pace yourself, there'll be a particular point where you can see the money run out and the development problems show.

This is going to be a profoundly mediocre game, isn't it?

>Paradox

probably

Yeah, which will make it well above average compare to the games that have been coming out recently.

I want to believe man, I've waited too long for this, but I simply cannot trust this industry anymore.
I'll wait and see

No, everything looks right so far so I'm expecting good things.

Advice.
Download few different distributives of the game, since it's still have few of bugs and you don't known which dist is fucked.
Also, huge IMO, Noosferatu, just as Malk are better for second run, not the first one

>cara ellison
>preorder shit and season passes
>literally who dev
Come on nigger

Some of that sounds so cool, but some of that sounds so dumb as well.

>Canada Sabat
>Canadians get outraged by violence
>low crime rates

How is that really going to work? I don't see that being compatible with a vampire sect that gleefully want to be monsters.

>Canadians are like mounties that are really relentless in finding a violent criminal

Really no, though.

>Distance between cities is too long and too filled with werewolves

You can't drive in a car for 1-5 hours without having your undead status detected by werewolves on patrol on the highway? So like a huge amount of Canadians are werewolves now and they just patrol highways or drive cars while trying to sniff out undead motorists?

Attached: dumb dog.jpg (214x227, 11K)

Because america or bust kiddo

Moving between cities is dangerous for a variety of reasons, it needs to be something you can do within a single night and you better have an idea of how the hell your entering your destination and where your sleeping, usually the king shit of the city your going to is going to need to be asked permission for you to enter his domain.
as for werewolves well... they find it profoundly easy to rumble a vampires undead status, cos in their lupine forms they can smell the difference between a corpse and a living person rather easily.

>literally who dev

It's the original designer, fool

Do we know anything about release dates?

He's only writing the game with Cara Ellison (lol), nigger. There's far more involved than just that.

100 dollar special edition will release in 1 year, 60 dollar version 6 months later

>cara ellison
They have a slut outfit and that big titty vamp. We should be good.

>How is that really going to work?
Sabbat are hypocrites.
Also because in the modern nights it's even more impossible than in the 90s the Sabbat has gone on a Gehenna Crusade.
>You can't drive in a car for 1-5 hours without having your undead status detected by werewolves on patrol on the highway?
Werewolfs can literally smell the wyrm corruption on vampires. They also reside mostly in small cities which is where the danger for the vampires comes in.
Because they can only move a limited time and have to secure a save haven for the day making trips longert than like ~6 hours extremely dangerous

lmao what, you have to buy the 100 dollar version to play it unless you wait 6 more months?

What a disaster.

>Yes user, also if you want buy a unicorn just call me up

Can the soundtrack be as good as it was in the first game? I was "holy shit man" as soon as this started playing at the credits some 15 years ago.
youtube.com/watch?v=cMDI2G9CMsY
Reportedly the new main theme sounds similar to the old one.

Attached: 1549585414940.png (169x169, 112K)

Okay I'm going to install this game but tell me this

Lore wise , hows vegas?

No, I'm from Los Angeles.
Rio in World of Darkness is this weird semi-truce place where every supernatural faction has a presence and there isn't open war.

Part of the story is tech vs tradition. Seattle is where a lot of tech companies are moving now that silicon valley is becoming unlivable for them. Combine that with the homeless population, the dramatic difference in old vs new, and the dev location Seattle makes a lot of sense for a location.

Then it wouldn't be about vampire scheming, it would be about supernatural scheming.

youtube.com/watch?v=bpAi70WWBlw&t

Why don't they just take a airplane?

Ok fags, now I'm interested in the board game but I have absolutely no idea how this work.

Is there any torrent with the books available ? How many friends do I need to play this ? Is it hard to set up ?

You can find the books on /tg/ if you look hard enough, you need at least 4 to play seriously, and it's complex enough that it shouldn't be your first tabletop game.

Is better if you ask in /tg/ user

thetrove.net/Books/World of Darkness/Classic World of Darkness/Vampire/index.html

Oh thanks a lot, I totally forgot about /tg/

I wonder if they'll allow you to learn other disciplines that aren't your clans own for an extra cost.

A gentleman of fine taste.

Rik Schaffer is on it again, but I doubt it'll be just as good.
