Does anyone else feel like there’s point in even blocking because most enemies don’t even have hit stun so all blocking does is let you do a single counter attack during which the enemy will just attack through and hit you anyway? Does blocking become more important in later human sized boss fights? Because right now, it’s mainly a hack and slash, which is disappointing because blocking could be used to great effect in part 2.

Blocking was only ever useful when you were forced to be dodge-less like earlygame 2 or whenever enemy attack patterns practically forced it for an opening to attack in BBS. Since you have Dodge Roll from the start in 3 there's no point.

Fenrir

Lionheart is great for finishing KH1 if you want extra MP that Oblivion or Metal Chocobo take away or if you dont want to bother with Ultima Weapon.
I'd argue that KH2's Lionheart isn't really fantastic because Oathkeeper is a better keyblade for the second half and by the time you get the keyblade there's already a whole better selection already and you're at the endgame and well on your way to getting ultima weapon
