My gaming PC is also my home server so it's always on unless there's a power outage lasting longer than 30 minutes. My laptop on the other hand gets turned off every night.

I turn it off every night and leaving your PC on all the time can harm it. Boot times are like 30 secs and I need to piss when I wake up so I just hit the power switch, take a quick piss and it's all booted up.

I have a switch on the 6-way extension that just straight up cuts all power to the devices connected to it and it alone has saved me hundreds over the years because I don't have a shitty LED from a monitor or printer lit at night when I don't need them.

Last time I turned my PC off it took like a dozen attempts to turn it back on because it was saying my harddisc or something was failing and it needed to do a checkdisc. once i got it running i kept getting messages saying that windows detected a disc failure but i eventually hit the 'ignore forever' button because the popups were getting annoying
otherwise i'd turn my pc off. but for now im afraid if i turn it off i wont be able to turn it back on.
