Entire point of the game is that it goes for realism and has a ton of features to help immersion

>everyone plays the game in third person servers using their magic camera to peak around corners and above grass while prone.

Why do people do this?

I wish I had friends to play arma with.

Why are you playing on public servers?

Find a unit user. Google it. Typically you can find applications online. Nothing like you and 30 of your closest bros dying horribly together.

>>entire point of the game is that it goes for realism
And yet the entire point is ruined by some of the worst AI I have ever seen in a video game. Seriously, they dont even have a basic concept of cover.

Its amazing anyone calls this a milsim at all.

Broma!

It's chill and fun. I'm fairly new to the group but I haven't experienced any shittery in the group.

Good. Seems like things have improved since the last I heard. I was turned off and joined another group.I should give it a shot. How would I go about joining?

>be passenger in APC driving over hills and scouting for objective
>objective gets cleared by other players
>"well at least we get to spend a little more time together before we all get blown up"
>mark objective on map
>we gotta destroy AA and infantry
>tell em to park of 1km on the crest of a hill and take shots at em
>noticed nobody is spotting so I climb out and take out my binocs
>spotting targets left and right, they're like ants crawling all over fields and buildings
>we managed to destroy AA unit but suddenly a tank cruises through the treeline
>our area is blown to smoke and dirt flies into the air
>my buddies get blown the fuck up and I barely manage to survive, I get shot once by incoming fire from at least 15 enemy units
>all I really remember is the explosions and the snapping sounds of bullets speeding by my head as I took cover behind a small rock not even half the size of my body

I miss it.
I miss it so much.

You now remember the TF1776 server in Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead

Just get your mods/teamspeak set and hop in when ever you can.

>Steam Workshop
Absolutely based.

KOTH servers and Attack&Defend Servers are still active.

FUCK Infantry servers though. I can't believe so many people buy this game just to play it like COD and cry about vehicles being used.

Do you guys hang out in a Discord server too to plan events? Or is it exclusively through steam groups?

There is a discord server which I think is on either the Teamspeak server or on the website I just linked. It's not incredibly active unless you look a the off topic sections. I mostly see people hanging out in the teamspeak channels desu.

Personally I've played in a milsim unit, we used a ton of mods and it was first person only no waypoints or anything just coordinates and maps. It's autistic as fuck and a lot of people take it way too seriously, but that sort *hardcore* style is really rewarding when you get missions done.

Sounds good. I'll have to get ts3 again and pop in. Thanks, user.

Is that the one with the american flag skins on the tanks?
