Did you buy Nintendo’s take on the VR trend?
Did you buy Nintendo’s take on the VR trend?
No, but if i were to buy any VR option ever, it would be that one. Which I won't.
Yes
It’s only $40, compared to the hundreds you’d spend on VIVE or Playstation VR.
What are your thoughts?
>360p/eye, sub 30 fps
should be illegal
No porn no buy
I already own a vive and i'm not a fan of causing myself headaches and eye strain, so no I didn't buy it.
PSVR has better games.
People have said it's not that bad actually
I haven't bought anything Labo related, so no.
>90s
>"Don't stand too close to the TV user, you'll go blind!"
>Current year
>"Strap this screen to your face"
>360p/eye
It looks like shit. Odyssey only got mini levels and it's in 3rd person. Botw is in 3rd person. I thought the point of vr was to make it feel like you were in the game.
I get it [VR] if it wasn't a meme gimmick fad that is already over, but it is, so I won't.
I feel like more effort could've been put into BoTW. Why is there Skyward Sword motion system for VR mode?
it's less than that since it doesn't use the whole screen
>anime avatar
>thinks vr is a fad that's over despite new headsets hitting the market
Found the fat neckbeard who wishes he could enjoy vr but knows hes too out of shape to.
3DTV
Vr has been commercially available longer than 3dtvs by this point, bad comparison NIGGER.

Can someone who gas tried out actual good vr give me there take on it, I kinda wanna try it out.
It's honestly decent, keep in mind this is my first VR experience.
As an entry way to VR, it's probably the best way, otherwise you'd have the shitty phone VR which is awful, or the expensive $250+ PSVR which is a ton of money if you don't like it.
It is fuzzy, but not as bad as I thought, the gameplay and fun makes up for it, I tend to forget I am even looking at a low res screen.
Now I gotta say, as someone who never had Labo before, man it's fun building it, and learning how it all works, it's fascinating to me.
After a while I was getting interested into future VR games and it got me thinking of games that would be great, especially for the low res screen, and it hit me.
The old NES-N64 (most likely Gamecube too) games, as they weren't made with resolutions higher than 360/480p in mind, and since the VR is around that area already, it wouldn't be too bad off.
I remembered that there were videos on youtube for VR, and I tried some out and a lot of them worked great (tho the majority has double vision, just keep that in mind).
I launched up some Zelda ones like N64 OOT, and 3DS OOT (since it was made for a 240p screen) and it looked great in VR.
Even twilight princess which really sold me on the idea, it honestly looked so good.
Quality wise too.
Even if it's not as clear, it'll still be incredible.
And then I got thinking, BOTW, the reason why I bought Labo VR, has VR videos, and I launched one and holy shit.
Even if the resolution is lower, it's gonna be incredible, looking at Temple of Time and seeing it tower over Link, and looking at the mountains in the distant and seeing the size, everything just clicked for me.
VR doesn't need high resolution screens or even 60fps (since all these videos were 30fps).
And the videos actually prove that with enough tinkering, these games can look better in VR.
Nice take. I didn’t buy pic-related because I was worried of the Toy-Cons taking up space. But for Labo VR, I feel the purchase was worth it.
Can’t wait for the VR Updates with Odyssey and BOTW!
The difference is that the vr wagglers work and have 1:1 tracking while the consoletard shit tracked like total ass and could barely register pre-set gestures.
Like it or not, this is a good thing for the industry. Competition leads to innovation. With sony and nintendo both making vr exclusives we might actually start getting some good vr games.
That's because modern screens don't operate using cancer-inducing lasers, dipshit.
VR camera labo + pokemon snap reboot
I own a vive and the vr kit and is pretty spot on. The quality and gameplay on the vive are magnitudes better than the labo vr but it works well enough to be fun.
VR is a meme
Labo is a bigger meme
So no.
I hope everyone dumps VR and Nintendo drops the Labo garbage.
Yeah the Toy cons do take up space but I think Nintendo actually realized this and actually made it easier to tidy them up.
For example, the Bird and Camera has hangers so you can hang them up, the Blaster has a lil' leg you can make so it sits up straight, the wind pedal actually closes up.
And yeah I legit think BOTW and Odyssey will be great, obviously you'd have a better experience with the more expensive side and emulation but for fuckin Cardboard, I believe it'll be worth it.
Yeah, as someone who always wanted to get into VR and nearly bought a PSVR, I was always worried that it wouldn't work for me (Ambylopia/Lazy Eye), that it would make me sick, or that I would just flat out not like it.
And while there are some games on PSVR that I wanna try out, I just couldn't justify the $250+ price tag with all the extra concerns.
60 bucks tho I can justify, even if VR didn't work for me, I'd still be able to build cool games in the Garage, so it wouldn't be a complete waste.
Based.
Alright I got one last question, can you move up and down in vr, like not tilt my head up and down but raise and lower my self?
Labo VR you can't.
Not in Nintendo vr but you can on most pc vr headsets.
Resolution doesn't matter that much for muh immersion in VR
try the vive and the vive pro back to back - you barely notice a difference, especially since most games aren't aiming for photorealism. Labo games are (obviously) stylised as hell so it shouldn't matter
>Resolution doesn't matter
Not him, but it doesn't.
I mean yeah it would make it way more immersive, but to say it's the most important thing is dumb.
I have Labo VR and yeah the resolution sucks, but I still get immersed.
It's just google cardboard
The difference is google cardboard sells for as low as a few bucks, if you can't find one for free from some promo swag event.
I hope nintendo makes an actual headset one day so I can use my controllers normally
