It's a little cringe and kind of short but includes all the DLC missions. Ultimately one of the more fun recent exclusives I've played, it's got Vans sponsor money, plays like a mashup of Saints Row + JSR and has a consistent aesthetic which I appreciate.
Do not buy it if you hate listening to Yuri Lowenthal and play male characters.

Had a real good time on this. If you're not like most people on this god forsaken board that likes to nitpick everything and doesn't enjoy vidya anymore then it's obviously never gonna be good enough. What I felt luke when I played thus was that I would have loved to have this game as a kid. It would have been an even greater game I guess. What I'm trying to say is that if you still have a bit of you're young self in you, you will probably enjoy every half decent game out there. Just sayin'.

It's fun if you don't take it too seriously. Which is something Yea Forums seems to have a lot of trouble with. The game is designed to be silly, but people call it "cringe", like that zoomer-core word even fucking means anything. If you can get it for 30 dollars or less, play it. I'm pretty sure I got it at full price and don't regret it whatsoever.

I can get off to comedy games no issue, but you know what the problem is? When a comedy game doesn't make you laugh. Once. Which is the case after Sunset Overdrive attempts for the #439548th time to make you laugh with it's "LOL QUIRKY SELF-AWARE HUMOR AMIRITE GAMERS" shtick.

The writing is pretty shity so don't expect a good story or good jokes for that matter. But the gameplay is pretty solid, enemies are fun to kill and you got a nice variety of weapons with plenty of collectables.

It's a pretty solid game. Colorful open world, good amount of weapons, moving around the city's a blast, which should probably be expected from the people who made the PS4 Spiderman game. Solid soundtrack that kinda has the dynamic soundtrack the DMC has where the music is more upbeat the better you are at the game.
Writing is garbage tier though. the story is uninteresting and the jokes just fall flat. I'd rather we got a silent protagonist than voice pitched Yuri Lowenthal

The fun part is in the gameplay, where I agree, it's fun and cathartic. The mobility reminds me a bit of Prototype, a game that I utterly loved but that can no longer be persuaded to run on any modern systems.
But every time the characters and the dialogue try way too hard.
