Sekiro

Reminder, if you haven't beaten Sword Saint Isshin without Kuro's charm and with Bell Demon, you haven't beaten Sekiro.

I encountered the first Headless in the cave. I'm really glad that From included the shinobi prosthetic that immediately gets rid of all Headless in the area, since it's a joke enemy that you were never expected to seriously fight and defeat. It was a really cool "gotcha" prank on the developers' part.

Purple Fume has a delayed spark and also is extra good against undead

I'll do it eventually but I have too much of a backlog to justify replaying a game that isn't kingdom hearts. Need to play the trails games and read one piece too

Attached: 1553376303936.png (323x517, 135K)

yeah its delayed. you want it to be instant to interrupt combos.

Haha yeah it’s almost as good as that prosthetic that takes you straight to the end of the game and you get to watch the credits.

>no overpowered equipment

Attached: 1555186175145.jpg (1125x2097, 185K)

>I'm really glad that From included the shinobi prosthetic that immediately gets rid of all Headless in the area
?

Only if you’re a scrub that uses prosthetics to block attacks when you should be using it to build further openings at the right time.

>and read one piece too
From the very beginning? I'd kill myself

Let's guess what boss he got stuck on.
My bet's on Phantom Butterfly.

Reminder if you unlocked Resurrection in your playthrough, you haven't beat Sekiro

I didn't have any fun killing the one in Hidden Forest but he drops a reusable Gachins that costs 3 emblems which is pretty sweet.

Lol saved

I love seeing zoomers seethe over Sekiro

Yep, just like the prosthetic that lets you skip both snake eyes fights. Just those japs ribbing us good laughs eh

isn't that literally what I just said?

Either that or Genichiro

Reminder if you haven't beaten Genichiro during the first encounter you haven't beaten Sekiro. And by beating Genichiro I mean dealing 2 death blows to him and then parrying his attack during the cutscene which prevents you from losing your arm

The delay is much better for precise calculated attacks rather than reactionary counters that you should be using your katana for anyway.

No, fortunately I only stopped after Fishman Island arc so really there is only a couple hundred chapters to go through. But with One Piece, it's one of those mangas that stuffs a bunch of content into each page word wise and art wise so it's longer to get through per chapter than reading something like Gantz

Holy fuck the hearts are distracting. I don't read Steam reviews; is this self censorship or does the platform censor words?

He’s not wrong
Glad this trash was on PC so I could pirate it

I started a new game with bell and no charm, now even those blue Ashina samurai fuck me up
I am growing stronger though

The platform. There's no way to turn it off either.

giving a fuck about suckiro while the real samurai/shinobi game is on it's way.

Attached: ghost-of-tsushima-2.jpg (896x504, 116K)

> fortunately I only stopped after Fishman Island arc
It doesn't get better if anything. I still read it every week just out of obligation because dropping something you are already like 1000 chapters into is stupid

Purple Fume has a debuff effect which I don't think you can get any other way, that alone makes it worth using. Besides the fact that it's braindead easy to use the delay to your advantage by anticipating instead of reacting.

Jesus Christ that's shit

Is bell/nocharm actually fun? Or is it just artificial stat bloat? I always hated when a dev's idea of higher difficulty is just pumping up HP and calling it a day.

Attached: 1554391929901.jpg (1080x1528, 433K)

Reminder that if you only fought three stages of Isshin, you haven't beaten the game
files.catbox.moe/e8yqpx.webm

whats wrong with sating my weeb appetite in the meantime? You're allowed to like both you know

It's open-world dude.

Its stat bloat but also going no charm makes enemies do chip damage on block which actually forces you to deflect properly instead of tap L1 and hope for the best.
The problem is that "normal" Sekiro is just too easy and abusable and rewards sloppy play but if you're having fun with it no reason to change right?

Can you get kuro's charm back or are you locked into a chip damage run once you give it away? I platted the game but I'm thinking of doing a no charm run for NG+4

This looks truly awful, I'd rather replay the Way of the Samurai games

literally filtered by chained ogre

The only fight that felt way too long for me was the Owl (first)

You can talk to sculptor to undo it but after that you're stuck that way

I think Charmless is the way the game was initially designed to work, but then someone thought it would be too hard so it was moved to optional NG+
It can change the way you play quite drastically

I don't really think so. Enemies get to block without taking damage but I guess if they also took chip damage from unparried hits it might be fair

>used casualcrackers
>telling other people how to play the game

fucking LOL

Attached: 8c6.gif (480x238, 443K)

The delay is what makes it good

Open world ninja game. Literally the dream

I actually played my first run of Sekiro without holding down block all the time, so I was already used to going for perfect deflects only. So it wasn’t that much of a crazier difficulty spike for me. That said, for anyone that predominantly held down block most of the time and didn’t like deflecting, it’s gonna be a painful experience, but I think a worthwhile one because to succeed in sekiro you really need to play like you don’t have Kuro’s Charm.

Possibly, I just find it odd that From would look at all the playtesters spamming deflect and think "this is okay"

Probably because the way it is nor journalists are on suicide watch, if chip damage was the default they’d have legit killed themselves

No but really how do I fight the headless? It seems like a huge waste of time and I hope I'm never forced into it

I'm just interested after seeing that spoiler about where the anime is currently at and where the manga is (the reverie) and it feels like One Piece is getting to some of the real shit now, so I am motivated

Divine Confetti, Purple Gourd/Pacifying Powder, Purple Umbrella

the effect is present on any lazulite weapon. it is a snap seed debuff.

Divine Confetti + Ako’s Sugar + Pacifying Agent and they become a joke. Same for Shichimen warriors

you dont have to fight a single headless
If you still want to, use confetti and purple gourd and remember that he alwayd just teleports behind you

Run behind it when it's posing after a teleport then stay behind it when it tries to turn and face you
Alternatively skip the fights, the rewards are complete garbage

What does it have to do with snap seeds

I did that a while back.

Took me about three months to catch up

>I only stopped after Fishman Island arc so really there is only a couple hundred chapters to go through
That's still like 300 chapters at this point, longer than most manga have in their entirety

That's like reading all of Rurouni Kenshin and JoJo Phantom Blood

>Reverie arc starts
>super hyped for all the major characters with huge influence appearing in one place
>whoops haha it's time for JAPAN
Fuck you Oda

Honestly the only thing I want to see now is Elbaf. I'm tired of the same uninspired shit over and over. One Piece stopped being good after the timsekip. You might want to argue but remember how good it was before, say, Marineford? It had so much SOUL. Now it's just shonenshit that is only slightly better than stuff like My Hero Aca or Fairy Tail. Same happened to Dragon Ball after Frieza

After beating the game a couple of times, I was disappointed when I saw many videos of people mashing the block button during fights in hopes of getting deflects without leaving yourself open. That shit works a little too well and it feels like the charmless chip damage was made to remedy that.

Everything from Water 7 to timeskip was god-tier and really what sold me on One Piece as a whole.

Wano mite b cool once things finally get going
I see a lot of praise for Wholecake Island but honestly I thought it was pretty by-the-numbers and lasted way too long
Everything else has been perfectly alright but definitely nowhere near the second half of the first saga

Reading manga is easy. Just read couple of chapters when you're in the shitter. You'll catch up in no time.
Beating a full game on the other hand...

firecracker shitter detected

I gave up on this game at the gorilla boss fight. Did I have much left?

It's fun. Literally git gud or die mode.

Id say you just passed the halfway point but you may have done some of that stuff already because you can access it before the plot wants you to

i did with the bell, but i dont want to play a full game without a charm
and not playing the whole game just to beat one final boss without it is not even a challenge
obviously it should be done on the regular playthrough also, because no charm + bell is not hard on ng+

can you give examples?

are boss rebattles a thing?

Senpou Temple
Actually i guess that's it and is more of a case of having divergent goals
My first playthrough i cleared the temple before even beating Genichiro

>Everything from Water 7 to timeskip was god-tier and really what sold me on One Piece as a whole
Comfy adventurous atmosphere is what really sold me on One Piece. One Piece started getting worse after Impel Down for me.

If you went Folding Screen Monkeys - Corrupted Monk - Guardian Ape then you were one boss away from the bad ending or the end of the second act. In retrospect, Sekiro really isn't that long of a game but it's hard for me to compare it to other From titles in this sense because it's been damn near two years since I touched one.

>used gourds
lmao this dude didnt REALLY beat the game
how about you don't get hit next time fag

Sure, if they're of the headless simian variety

Yeah its called ng+

>If you went Folding Screen Monkeys - Corrupted Monk - Guardian Ape
Thats exactly what I did. So if I go a bear the Ape I only have 1 more boss till bad ending?

>Corrupted Monk
Where the fuck is this clown? Does it have anything to do with the kite?

>go a bear
go and beat*

Another shitter that only got through Souls games with co-op

I feel like the headless are there like agents in the matrix. You just run if you see one. I think they were designed that way just to scare the shit out of you.

??????
>stop giving a fuck about the actual shinobi game from actual Japanese people
>instead, look at this American weeb trash where Americans are completely, utterly fucking incorrect about everything about feudal Japanese society
Even though Sekiro has strong fantasy elements, it still has a thousand times more real historical accuracy to it than Ghost of Tsushima will ever have.

If you gave up on the fucking gorilla you will NEVER reach an ending, not even the bad one lol

Exactly. Mind you, I found the Shura ending boss to be more of a headache than the other three ending's boss based solely on the fact you're confined to the same area wherein you fought Genichiro, but that might just be a matter of opinion.

Yeah I'm not even a Soulsfag and I'm already at Corrupted Monk in NG+, I just started this run on Thursday, this is MGR-tier short and I love it.

Well gave up is an exaggeration I suppose. I got stuck on him yesterday and didnt bother playing it today.

That kite in Senpou Temple? That's to get one of the items for the best ending.

>batman combat

Isshin just doesn't fundamentally work as a boss. His spear attacks in the second and third phase are so awkward and weird to time the block. He can just chain weird awkward attacks together to kick your shit in.

From, just get rid of his spear. Let him just use the sword. It's so much easier to deal with.

>weird and awkward
Get good dude
His spear moveset is just a shittier nameless king with a gun

can YOU do chip damage on block too, though?

nop

>Reminder, if you haven't beaten Sword Saint Isshin without Kuro's charm and with Bell Demon, you haven't beaten Sekiro.

Good thing I'm doing that run now

Bell demon doesn't affect bosses

Attached: 1553628095313m.jpg (1024x986, 153K)

Yeah it does.

Where are the proofs
We've already had to debunk the myth that charm and bell don't stack, stop coming up with new bullshit

I'll probably never truly beat this game but I'm enjoying my softcore run with Charm, it's a good medium having all my gear/stats but taking more damage/posture, the latter actually helps you train your parry because spamming gets you killed in NG+, last night I fought Lone Shadow Longswordsman until I could nohit him and then proceeded to body 2ape

Where the fuck do I go after Lady Butterfly? She didn't even drop anything that seems important. I have no idea how to use that thing that supposedly gives another revive and besides that I still have the bell charm some old lady gave me but talking to the sculptor does nothing. I've explored around and feel like I exhausted all my avenues

Prove it does. I had bell equipped on the last boss and took it off and didn't notice any differences. It should be easy to prove with a simple 2 way video of an attack on you with and without it

Reach the top of Ashina Castle

If you haven’t beat Sekiro blindfolded and with one hand, you haven’t truly beaten it.

>Spent more time grinding exp than playing to get the Shura and Return ending combined.
God damn, it's a slog.

Reminder, if you haven't beaten Sekiro by my made up rules, you haven't beaten Sekiro

>and JoJo Phantom Blood
Phantom Blood is only 42 chapters, so not a great example here.

>His spear attacks in the second and third phase are so awkward and weird to time the block.

Yes so here's the pro tip
Dodge them

Attached: 1554074999042.jpg (750x740, 73K)

I think he meant that Kenshin + JoJo PB = 300 chapters

I died to him twice and have no motivation left to keep trying. I don't know what is about Sekiro but it mentally drains me.

Oh my bad, I assumed Kenshin was longer than that.

How long do buffs last, specifically divine covfefe?

I think it's like 20 seconds or something

Divine Confetti lasts for 1 minute which is a very short amount of time in combat.

Okay guess I better pull a S4 Gogeta and make this quick, holding only 5 confetti can be rough if a fight drags on, and Monk is definitely one of those

Reminder to the people who don't know you can kill the snake that you can actually kill the snake.

>Shura is the only ending where he smiles a little
Shura is the happy ending confirmed

Never got those items because I fell off the damn bridge.

Same, but I doubt it was anything special there.

just a jizo statue and a few other shit consumables

I did that shit right after getting all 4 endings. Its not that tough. The only somewhat difficult challenge run was no leveling whatsoever, and that was because most bosses end up taking a really long time with 1 in attack.

>His spear attacks in the second and third phase are so awkward and weird to time the block
They're really not. You fags talked him and his weird spear hitboxes up so much but he makes it very clear when he's about to swing it back in your general direction again. He pretty much always stops attacking right as your posture is reaching its limit. Did you just go the whole game barely deflecting and now that the game demands basic competence at its core mechanic you're exposed? The amount of melodramatics I'm seeing regarding this fucking boss is insane "fundamentally doesn't work as a boss", give me a goddamn break.

Me, too. Why are we all such idiots?

I'm on Playthrough #4 and I just reached Isshin. Playing without Kuro's charm and with Bell Demon and I've seen Stage 3 twice. Numerous times I've reached Stage 2 without healing and then Isshin just shreds me. Dear God help me Yea Forums.

yeah maybe if there was an easy mode we wouldn't have fallen off

Can someone tell me where the fuck Badger went? I bought the umbrella, then he left for Senpou. He wasn't at the kite like he's supposed to be. Then, I found him in the Sunken Valley. Then he says he's going to Ashina Castle, but I don't know where.
There's shit I want to buy from him, but he just fucked off.

If he fucks off for good you can buy his shit from the offering box at the sculptor's place.

The one thing I dislike about this game, and From games in general, is that death is necessary for you to learn and it's not avoidable the first time in the majority of uncommon encounters (minibosses and bosses.) I understand that if the game were designed different it would either make every fight feel too samey or it would require enemies to telegraph how to beat them, so I can't complain too much considering the style of game this is. Despite that and some general jank this is the first time I've liked a From game since DaS1, having a blast

Good God man you were running on fumes

Sekiro was disappointing, what the hell do i play now. Recommend a game like Kairo or Naissance.

Echo

Oh look, tryhard thread #12938

Is there anything to do in Ashina castle after you beat the Divine Dragon? Should I go for the final battle in the flower field?

Post yfw some journo retard inevitably says the weeb game made by Americans is more "authentically" Japanese than the Japanese game made by Japanese people.

Yeah there's a fun fight under Isshin's room, also an Ogre at the ground floor if you missed him

Demon of Hatred

I hope that happens, because then a different groub of libfaggots will accuse them of "glorifying cultural appropriation." I hope they kill each other.

I haven't beat him at all. I took a 2 week break and came back to him and can barely get past genichiro.

not going so well

>sugar
>english dub
Anything you had to say is irrelevant

What about Lazulite/Fulminating Mercury? How can I even get some of these?

Some Mercury can be found on the path to the Demon. I think he also gives you some Lazuli or whatever it's called.

How do I differentiate between a thrust counter and a sweep counter? You'd think I wouldn't have to ask this at the final boss and yet here I am.

Attached: 1536263837913.jpg (876x876, 270K)

I did though and it took me 6 hours, almost wanted to give up

Attached: 1535720744660.png (1920x1080, 2.95M)

mikiri for thrust, jump on head for sweep

For the last 2 stages the thrust is always the end of that combo he does.
For the first one it's a pretty clear stance for thrust IIRC.

Fulminating Mercury can be farmed from the red invading soldiers with guns and flamethrowers. Best to use the demon bell with the mibu possession balloon for optimal farming. There's a nice spot for farming at Ashina Outskirts - Stairway where you can quickly take out 4 enemies from behind who drop the material, then double back to the idol to rest. As for lazulite it's an ultra rare material that enemies don't drop (With the exception of the Demon of Hatred boss) You can find where to get it from the wiki. Also, there's only 6 pieces of lazulite in the game, so you'll have to go to NG+ in order to upgrade everything.

Bell demon doesn't do anything as far as I can tell outside of better drops. I think it's bugged because I'm in NG5 and it still just as easy

I started a new game with the bell demon and bosses/enemies definitely take less posture damage.

You just gotta watch their animations and figure it out dude, its not hard

Huh maybe it's not meant for higher attack power levels or something because bosses still posture break incredibly fast and anyone I punish with high monk gets fucked

You mean Yea Forums village

Can somebody help me with something?
I've been stuck at the first Chained Ogre fight at the start of the game and I'm pretty sure I've given everyone dragonrot by now. I've figured out most of the fight except for the lunged grab attack.

Are you supposed to jump over it?

Yea Forumsibu village

Yes you can jump over lunging grab attacks and i think you can even kick the ogre by pressing a in midair but most other grabs you just wanna get away from

Jump sideways literally dodges every one of Chained Ogre's moves with no exception

I see, I got so caught up in using circle to dodge its short grab that I didn't think of a grab being a sweep attack until right when I had to do something else. I feel like a huge brainlet

I took a break and started Ys8. Doubt i'll be back anytime soon

Purple shinobi is belong to Interior Ministry's forces right?

reminder if you havent beaten [game] without [random challenge] youre gay

FUCK
guess i'm gay

Old ishiin is harder than SS ishiin

What the fuck are you retards on about?

The bridge has nothing to do with you getting the items.

Dont beat yourself up user

Literally everyone knows this.

You talk as if this is a big deal, done this on my first playthrough

use gacchin suger then backstab him to skip 1 phase.
Cheese him with run around tatics.
bait for attack hit him twice then do it again.

>kuro's charm
>first playthrough
Why would you just go and lie on the internet?

What's hard to understand?

>without Kuro's charm and with Bell Demon
Maybe learn to read first before playing vidya shithead

You give up Kuro's Charm for the debuff, which you can't do until beating the game once. You still played on easy mode because you could get away with mashing L1.

The negative effects of not having Kuro's charm only comes into effect on new game+ but you wouldn't know that.

it's done

Attached: 1519961388670.jpg (960x706, 412K)

>literally says without kuro's charm
>NG doesn't have kuro's charm

If you fall after killing the snake, you respawn on the ledge you jumped from, not the one you landed on after killing the snake. There's no way back to that area.

Jesus christ you absolute fucking retard, you have kuros charm the whole time in NG and thats why you dont take chip from blocking. Giving it up to kuro is what makes it harder. You can't have done that in the first playthrough because you can't go without Kuro's charm until NG+

How the fuck do I pull out the centipede in guardian ape

Is it loaded spear base? Loaded spear thrust? R1 or r2???? I feel like I’ve done all of these and it won’t pull the fucking thing out please help I hate this boss

this platinum trophy says otherwise

>still doesn't understand english
Honey, i think you really have to finish your homework first before playing vidya, hm??

R2 and then R2 again, any spear will do (I think)

Ah so you're either baiting or just so retarded there's no changing anything so I'll leave you to it then.

It doesn’t do shit when I’m hitting him with it after he falls

NO SWORDS NO GADGETS NO JUMPING NO BLOCKING PERFECT PARRIES ONLY FINAL DESTINATION PLUS ONE HARD DICK PUNCH EVERY DEATH

Have sex

Nvm got it finally I guess I was standing in the wrong spot. For fucks sake this boss is anti fun

I wish the player's posture was a bigger deal in the game. It seems to not matter at all if your posture is broken since you can jut roll out of the guard break animation almost immediately and then it's reset.

I spent a lot of time just blocking in my down time between enemy attacks in my first playthrough since I thought my posture was important, but once you learn that as long as you deflect it can't be broken and that even if it does break, just mash dodge, it's kind of a waste to even think about your own posture.

How do i get to Ashina outskirts after the Ministry fags invade?

>NO SWORDS
But...but how do I deathblow?

The bridge near the grave idol is now accessible. Certain parts of the Outskirts can't be reached any more, though.

If it took you more than 15 hours for a first run, you haven't beaten the game.
I seriously don't understand what takes people so fucking long.

G I T

if you haven't beaten sekiro keyboard only you haven't beaten the game btw

I didn't know about the Demon Bell until after beating it.
But I also didn't know about Kuro's Charm, so I guess that cancels itself out.

Attached: 1356427345352.jpg (810x810, 59K)

>15 hours

holy shit what were you even doing so that it took so long? Grinding for technique levels or something?

Attached: MerelyARuse.jpg (349x642, 40K)

I'm working towards that goal senpai.
It's staggering how much you improve while playing. I beat Oniwa and Genichiro on my first try, and Lady Butterfly on my 4th try. Geni and grandma killed me like 30 times on my first playthrough. Feels good to improve.
Guardian ape on the other hand killed me just as much as he did on my first time, like 15-20 times. Fuck that monkey nigger.

>then it might be fair
Have you ever played a hard game in your life? Taking chip damage makes it more important to understand the timing and intricacies of the combat. It is definitely more in line with the core mechanics of the game.
