Nioh 2 will be good and Sekiro is great, Ghost of Sushi looks really bad though.

Sekiro was eh. I’m hyped for Nioh 2 though. Nioh was ironically more of a “Japanese Dark Souls” the Sekiro was

I can't believe Nioh 1 actually had more polished gameplay and presentation than Sekiro
and STILL no patch updates
biggest buyer's remorse I've had in years

100% ACCURATE PREDICTIONS

GAMEPLAY
Nioh 2 > Sekiro >>>> Ghosts of Tsushima

CRITICAL PRAISE
Ghosts of Tsushima >>> Sekiro >> Nioh 2

COMMERCIAL SUCCESS
Ghosts of Tsushima >>> Sekiro >>>>> Nioh 2
Ghost will sell more than Nioh 2 and Sekiro together

Did not they said that Nioh 2 would be less like Dark Souls and would have a more original feel?

I miss the alpha days.

Attached: 1465958488237.png (540x669, 457K)

The first Nioh already feels very different from Dark Souls.
Many people fixates too much on the stamina bar or "you drop your experience point when you die" shared mechanic, ignoring the things that make both games so different.

GAMEPLAY
Nioh 2 > Sekiro >>>> Ghosts of Tsushima
Wrong

CRITICAL PRAISE
Ghosts of Tsushima >>> Sekiro >> Nioh 2
Wrong again, Sucker Punch never had a critically aclaimmed game.

The other ones might as well be cancelled at this point. Nioh is garbage and the other one doesn't even look like a video game.

more like two down lmao

Other than that Nioh 2 or Sekiro's gameplay could go either way, that's perfectly accurate.

god I want Nioh 2 to be good

>05
*Then* faggot

Sekiro's parrying mechanics are really cool, but that's it. I'm not really feeling it as much as I feel Nioh's combat as a whole. But as pointed, there is always the possibility of Nioh 2 having worse combat than the first game.

Ghost of Tsushima is a Playstation cinematic exclusive with lots of eye candy; it will get the same universal praise as the Uncharted games. I can see the articles:
>REVIEW: GHOST OF TSUSHIMA: Sekiro done right.

>trusting anything made by K-T
>trusting a jap setting game made by gaijin

This. I platted Sekiro in like 60 hours while taking my time and will probably never touch it again. Got a meaty 500+ hours out of Nioh though, but a large portion of that was helping other players online. Ghost of sushi i probably won't even bother watching playthroughs of let alone buying it.

Still waiting for them to show literally anything of Nioh 2

it's than

Sekiro was good, but it had zero replay value.
Almost as excited to play Nioh 2 as I am to point and laugh at Ghost of Sushi.

Are you me? I got 250 hours of the PS4 version and so far I've spend 360 hours on the PC version.
I interrupted my current run (on Way of the Wise with my odachi character) to play Sekiro; once I'm done with it and get all the endings I doubt I'll replay it. Sekiro it's not a bad game in the slightest (I think it may be the best game released this year) but it's not very exciting.

If Nioh 2 doesn't have a chracter creator and gets rid of it's mission based gameplay, I won't play it.
Tushima is going to be an open world shitfest and I won't play it.

>That GoT webm where the spear enemy waits until you kill the sword enemy to attack and even then it isn't very aggressive
>Meanwhile fighting more than one opponent on both Nioh 1 and Sekiro is an invitation to get your anus destroyed, especially with Sekiro's "duel-oriented" combat system.

Knowing how GoT will bury both games sales-wise saddens me immensely

Attached: 1506544004293(2).jpg (719x719, 98K)

It's confirmed to have character creation, at least

I actually will only bother with Nioh 2 if the mission garbage goes away, also the diablo tier loot

This

The developers already confirmed that it will have a character creator. No idea about the mission structure.
I don't mind the character creator but I'll rather have the mission structure. Nioh doesn't need to be Dark souls.

where can i see this webm?

>GoT will bury both games sales-wise
I really doubt it.

nm i thought you were talking about the rumored game of thrones game

Attached: 1555142132124.webm (1280x720, 2.86M)

Nioh 2 and Sekiro are far better, but critics and normies don't care about that. They absolutely eat up movie games. Just look at God of War 4, The Last of Us or Uncharted.

Why do you insult Nioh and Sekiro by putting that shit pile Ghost in there?
Are you trying to trick people into thinking that Ghost is worth a shit?

Attached: 1455342591151.png (338x338, 26K)

its in dev hell

Nioh 2 will be made on DW9 engine lmao

God damn. That looks terrible. I was initially EXTREMELY excited for this game but looking at a few webms like these completely ruined it. I probably won't even buy it honestly.

What the fuck is up with that lighting?

>that last blow
>enemy in parry stance
>your sword clips through the enemy weapon and chops his arm off

Bravo.

N-not again Niohbros

c i n e m a t i c

If it has really good visuals and a batman arkham series type of combat but more casual like it implies it will attract a lot more of mainstream people than Sekiro and Nioh, not to mention it's western made with default english VA so it'll be way more like a movie game like uncharted as this user commented.

The spear gets chopped

Jesus dude did you even play the game?

>amazing game
>great game
>good game

they're using the new engine which couldnt even get 60fps in DoA6, a 1v1 game.
either nioh 2 will be 480p60fps or they're doing engine work for the next 2 years.

I think Nioh 2's development is still on its early phases; Sony just convinced KT to reveal it to have something to show during the E3 besides the infamous flute dude.
Like, I don't know, Bethesda revealing Doom Eternal during the E3 2017 instead of last year, when the development has advanced enough to show something more than just a logo and a short cinematic.

nice bait

This reminds me of the old Assassin's Creed games where you can be outnumbered ten to one and they will take turns attacking you.
I hate faggy slowdowns during combat and that parry animation was shit too.

You've been posting this horseshit for days without an actual source.

>didn't like nioh so probably won't like nioh 2
>a literaly movie
>a good game
I feel like the nippon banzai games have already peaked with sekiro.

Nobody really knows what the combat system is (the devs themselves probably didn't know when they put out their demo) and it has been confirmed to have JP voice acting

> suckiro
> good

We already know it has Batman Arkham-esque stealth eliminations.

Ghosts is a console exclusive so I couldn't care less about it.

Nioh 2 made the CRITICAL Prototype mistake of not having William-san as a main character, instead giving some generic no name that NO ONE WANTS to play as, so I see it failing hard.

Well Sekiro also has stealth takedowns I don't see people saying it's a "movie" though

There will be hundreds of articles where journalists praise Ghosts of Thushima for being better than Sekiro just for being more accesible and cinematic. Prepare for lots of "hot takes" on how the west managed to make a superior Japanese game while the Japanese themselves are far behind in times in terms of game design.

Mark my words.

Attached: 1554905689914.png (478x523, 168K)

I bet you liked Nioh more because it was easier right

>sword clashing with thin air
what

Attached: screencap.png (499x605, 541K)

It's funny because Yea Forums said that Nioh was lackluster precisely because it's didn't have character creation just like Dark Souls
Which is it ?

Sekiro's stealth takedowns aren't literally copypasted from Arkham Knight

Sekiro doesn't have one button automatic chain eliminations.

I haven't played it cause I'm a jew and $80 for a game that's gotta have a dlc-included edition in a couple months is dumb, but it looks fun.

Nioh is an amazing game and William is an amazing character. Anyone who says otherwise is just being contrarian or is legitimately retarded. Being that this is Yea Forums, both are plausible.

William's story is over.

>implying playing as Wirriam's child with a Wirriam secret boss wouldn't be pure kino

Just pirate it. Then delete it because it’s crap.

Bloodsmoke Ninjutsu

I have but running through wine on gnu+linux causes extreme lag when loading areas. Also the controller stops working.

right on cue. gif in 3, 2, 1...

>drop all your emblems to OHKO a few normal mooks

No it isn't. At the end of the game it VERY CLEARLY SAYS that William returned to nipponland after wrecking that cunt back in England and continued to protect the country against yokai with Hanzo for years.

I'd rather play as William than his kid.

And like it happened with the first game, Nioh 2 will be ignored by the journos.

Not even remotely similar.

I'm actually quite excited for Nioh 2 solely because they said there would be character creation and i am a big big sucker for that .
I also had way more trouble in Nioh than i did in Sekiro

>bland level design
>the same enemies repeated over and over
>crappy loot system

its more contrarian to say nioh is better than sekiro

>KT

Retard

user the DLC takes place after the main game

I liked it more because
>More than one weapon type
>Different play styles
>Can change armor/transmoging
>Replayability
>Multiple Spells/Ninjutsu
>Build variety
>Multiplayer (though it’s dead as shit now)
I liked Sekiro, but for the most part it felt like a boss rush without much combat variety

Hey look it's no source faggot again. Still haven't off yourself i see.

Attached: Why i oughta.jpg (1920x1080, 218K)

did Koei Tecmo suddenly stop owning Team Ninja

Emblems are practically infinite either way.

I could use that post to perfectly describe Sekiro if I sat down and decided to spin it that way.

Cope.

>>the same enemies repeated over and over
>>crappy loot system
>implying these don't apply to Sekiro just as much as Nioh, if not moreso

Did publishers suddenly start developing games?

since when are wholly owned subsidiaries not part of the parent company?

they never were, gotta get that tax fraud in!

oh no, not the engine that produced the best looking fighting game ever made. How will Nioh recover.

>bland level design
It's not different from your average Dark Souls level design. In fact I'm finding Sekiro's level design to be blander in comparison.

>the same enemies repeated over and over
Both Soulsborne and Sekiro have a lot of crappy enemies. I'll rather fight a Kurama Tengu for the 999th time than something as boring as Dark Souls' flamebreathing statues or Sekiro's villagers.

>crappy loot system
It's not crappy at all; it gives the game an amazing level of depth and customization. And If you want to ignore it you can just equip whatever has the biggest ATK / DEF numbers but you need to get fucking good at the game because bosses on higher NG+ iterations will OHK / THK you.

I'm convinced that the immense dislike Soulsborne fans have towards Nioh is just Soulsborne fans seeing any game design different from the Soulsborne template as inherently bad.
>"Individual levels / open world bad, interconnected single corridors world good"

>Nioh 2 announced 1 year ago
>literally no (ZERO) news

It's in development hell just like the 1st, isn't it bros ?

Attached: 1444605517800.jpg (600x476, 33K)

likely just announced way too early

Chances are they don't know what the fuck to do with the sequel. 1 was in development hell and it did not have a cohesive design identity with fundamental things changing all do to some Soulsfag input (tears). They also blew all of their load with so many armor and weapon designs plus sperging out on the Sengoku period characters. Do they just put the same items in the game again? Who are they gonna be the characters now?

Nah it's just like Code Vein, they want to release it as far as it possibly can from Sekiro

Can you even fucking read?

Yes.
There is some hope; Nioh 2 met Code Vein there and both are working on a way to escape.

What's happening with the Souls genre is the same that happened with Doom-likes and rogue-likes, anything that deviates from teh established formula is seen as heretic
Which is ironic since From already deviated from theit own formula with Sekiro adding pause menu and removing stamina bar for example
Also it's happening in the era of social media and the level of Yea Forums is at its lowest right now, it doesn't help the discussion

I've been seeing this bizarre argument all over the new EA shill threads, somehow thinking that publishers have no control over the development studios they literally own.

>it did not have a cohesive design identity
What? Almost every aspect about Nioh was very cohesive. There wasn't a gameplay mechanic or aspect that felt out of place.

Let's wait and see. Maybe we'll get an original story depicting the Spanish trying to get their hands on the Amrita.

>Lady Maria comes back
>she's even harder

Attached: [AHHHHHHHH].jpg (313x559, 60K)

weebs are mentally ill

why would it depict the spanish

Nioh was more Ninja Gaiden with Dark Souls elements desu

>have no control

Having some control doesn't mean they design the fucking games. You're dumb.

> weebs
GOT is a western game about japan
Can’t get more weeb than that

The mongol warriors have cool aesthetic to them, it's a fucking waste to put them in a PS4 exclusive moviegame with batman combat.
I wish a good studio made a game about the Mongol invasion of Japan.

Attached: 1427961479612.jpg (534x431, 87K)

No it wasn’t, stop this meme.

>even in its DLC, Team Ninja couldn't help but copy FromSoft
are these niggers serious?

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 1.44M)

Team Ninja is KT. There's no magical line that makes them not-KT. It's like saying Disney doesn't make Star Wars.

Sekiro is not even that hard, stop deluding yourself

>anything that deviates from teh established formula is seen as heretic
That may be true but deviations or not Nioh was still successful. Hell, almost every other Souls clone (Nioh, Lords of the Fallen, The Surge) while not as popular as Souls was commercially successful enough to get sequels greenlited.

so... this is the power of PS4

Attached: 02b.jpg (680x365, 31K)

I trust Nioh 2 to be better than Sekiro, but they may pull off a Dark Souls 2 fail. Nioh is a great game and it will be hard living up to the hype but if they do it'll be my GOTY

>are these niggers serious?
Yikes
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan–Spain_relations

>>Meanwhile fighting more than one opponent on both Nioh 1 is an invitation to get your anus destroyed
Not if you use the right weapons

Bull fucking shit.

Te game changed over night with a simple survey. Entire systems scrapped, encounter design completely changed, new movement systems introduced that don't work with the way the enemies were designed. If you thin this is the mark of a cohesive design idea you're an idiot. It's also one of the most broken games i have played, literally not an iota of time was spent on balancing anything.

Niohfags trying to downplay it's myriad of flaws is beyond obnoxious. So defensive they are content to eat shit a second time instead of having things fixed.

Is it mentally ill to point out that 2 games have great gameplay and that another game is too cinematic? Nioh and Sekiro being Japanese and GoT being American are irrelevant. I will readily admit that MGS is a movie game for example.

I think if Nioh didn't have such horrible aesthetics and environment art it'd be way better than Dark Souls.

Seriously half of FromSoft's talent is their environments and maps. Their boss fights in their A-team games always take place in impressive areas and the decoration is always on point. And the bosses themselves aren't literal whos, unlike Nioh, so the actual fights feel a lot more impactful instead of it feeling like you're just grinding.

if you can play nioh you can play sekiro stoped thinking sekiro is hard go back to asking for a ez mode retard

I've read this pasta tons of times but I've never seen specific examples.

This. Also the chain eliminations are just mash R1 until the trash mob posture breaks, and occasionally block after some of the mildly harder trash mobs block you.

Are you serious?

It's literally a re-purposed Ninja Gaiden boss

Attached: Aesthetics.webm (1280x720, 2.85M)

>shitty brown, as if colors didn't exist in real life
>muh realism
>spin moves which would get you killed in a real fight
This is just pathetic. Not worthy of being in the same sentence as Nioh and Sekiro.

what does that have to do with anything?
here's another unrelated link
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan–Spain_relations

The only "dark souls like" part of Nioh is the bonfire-like checkpoints and having to recover your XP. The core action feels nothing like Dark Souls.

nioh 2 will come out on the ps5 just like nioh 1 came out on the ps4 even though it was annouced as a ps3 game youtube.com/watch?v=j14e9zTnVbk

Thanks for letting me know i'm talking to a fucking idiot. Saves me some time.

>if Nioh didn't have such horrible aesthetics and environment
Better than cuckiro.

Fucking loved Nioh, can't wait to play the sequel. Got the plat for it. Sekiro I'm enjoying a lot too. GoT worries me though, with webms like tfw met the devs of GoT at PSX 2017 and got their signatures despite never hearing of the game before

there was weapon and armor durability in the public alpha

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan–Portugal_relations

>designing = developing
You're dumb.

>pasta

Everyone who was here at the alpha knows. You can go look up footage on Youtube. It's been discussed a thousand times before these couple of fanboys started getting vocal. The time would be wasted on you.

a subsidiary company doesn't suddenly become an independent studio because they made something you like.

>2005 - soulless Dynasty Warriors clone
>2017 - soulless Dark Souls clone

Attached: 1547233826873.gif (500x282, 2.89M)

>the publisher is in charge of designing the game not the director

This board gets stupider by the fucking second.

nioh 1 story made sense because of william nioh 2 the story is probably gonna be jank

Why are there so many angry Nioh counter shills here? The game was great.

Sekiro has beautiful maps for sure, From games in general have shit technology and despite that they manage to deliver atmospheric and immersive maps. Having said that some Nioh's levels are beautiful too, it's just that you get half and half ugly and nice.

>Still no arguments, just the typical "google it"
At least points to an actual aspect that changed.

This looks so fucking bad after playing Sekiro

Soulsborne fans hate the possibility of a non-FromSoft game being good, or people liking said non-From game.

Maybe because your power scales too much with gear and skills and it's not muh hardcore experience

So do you think MGSV reflects what Kojima wanted it to be?

You're legitimately brain damaged if you think the publisher doesn't have some influence over the design.

More Nioh 2 info when, damn it?!

After playing Sekiro this just looks slow and cumbersome as fuck.

Nioh 1 was the ultimate case of "this had no right being so good". Absolutely nothing was going in the game's favor, but somehow they crafted a really complex, absolutely enormous game, with tremendous replayability. AND a lot of legitimate Japanese history. I seriously learned a lot about the last years of the Sengoku era just from reading the codex entries for all the characters, and I thought it was very neat how they integrated the story of the game into the real history.

Shit, even the executioner you fight at the very beginning of the game was a real dude who lived in that time. They got a Gaelic VA just for William's guardian spirit! Who the fuck would do that?!

why do you keep pushing this fromsoft vs team ninja narrative?

diablo loot autism grind is the ultimate pleb filter

>google it

More like eat shit. I don't give a fuck about entertaining newfags or shills. People who should know already know, everyone that just questions things the way you do with no cause has ulterior motives

Attached: hhmh.jpg (900x506, 39K)

it wasnt that great. the loot system is fucking pants on head retarded.

>beat boss
>boss drops his legendary sword
>oops sorry its trash try again

also it was far too easy on the first difficulty. the second and third were good. but the rest fucking sucked.

not him but it absolutely does. the "cut chapter 3" video that kojima included in the game wasn't an accident or a "bonus", it was literally meant to induce phantom pain.
fuck kojima

You seem confused, considering literally only Ghost of Tsushima out of those 3 is a weeb game.

He's not entirely wrong.
The publisher may demand the game to follow certain deadlines.
>Be sure that you have to protect a little girl; marketing found that having a little girl to protect increases the sales 15.2%

WHERE IS THE NIOH 2 INFO GODDAMN

MGS are not movie games dumbfuck, they have tons of actual gameplay, unlike western moviegame shit like TLoU.

>No arguments, just a tantrum.
It's my victory then.
Don't reply to me; I won't reply to you anymore.

They all have their own niches, but I hope Ghost of Tsushima doesn't fuck up the melee combat even if its a mainstream open world game.
The loot cycle is just not interesting, people hate on Sekiro for not having shit to find but Nioh shouldn't get a pass for having tons and tons of garbage minor stat increases or straight up useless variants of shit your wearing.

Its a this or that but I don't see how anyone could prefer Nioh main/sub mission structure over a singular world. Especially when sub missions are all about rehashing maps from the main missions with minor level changes like where you spawn and paths being blocked, or new enemy placements.

It looks slow but everything will look slow after Sekiro. I just hope it ends up being engaging and offers more than just a katana.

lol

that spacing though you need to go back

>not liking diablo loot grinding
Fucking nu-gamer. I bet you buy every cinematic game on release date.

Absofuckinglutely. Are you fucking serious you droen? That hack literally shat all over that game, Konami had nothing to do with it. He made not Big Boss a silent protagonist after watching fucking Mad Max. He literally shoved his fucking name on every mission.

You are beyond delusional. You just provided a prime example of a director having to much power and say.

>some

Nice goalpost moving you fucking dolt

I am mildly interested but the main thing that actually keeps me from playing it is t.b.h. the white dude protagonist, I don't even know what the game is about but from pics it seems like some kind of dumb The Last Samurai style thing which turns me off. maybe I am completely wrong and just being retarded lmao

It's not Fromsoft vs Team Ninja narrative.
It's Soulsborne fans vs everyone else.

Nioh has flaws but it's somehow popular in the internet to nitpick small flaws and pretend they make the game bad. I think anyone saying Nioh is a bad game is an utter fag who's going to die sad and alone and the same goes for all FromSoft games.

A game with literal 15 minute cutscenes is a movie no matter how good the gameplay is. MGS is much better than TLoU but people put a halo over it for being made in Japan.

Case in point, thanks for proving me right retard.

>can't put a space between the meme text, it's not sanctioned

self

You are, but I can't blame you because I also didn't play Nioh until a few weeks ago for similar reasons. You should give it a try

It literally was not great, it was average. Too many flaws.

kill black knight at start of game find stone set

>I don't see how anyone could prefer Nioh main/sub mission structure over a singular world
I do. At least for Nioh I do.
Not every game needs to have a singular world; it's as obnoxious as the people demanding that every game should be an open world sandbox and a singular world doesn't work every time.

why is shrine-chan so happy?

>implying the last samurai wasnt kino
TOM CRUISE BAD

I was excited for this game but after playing sekiro I feel I would fall asleep playing this trash.

You have too many flaws, faggot

Sekiro took 25 hours for two endings, Nioh took 50 for me to realise that it wasn't going anywhere.
Guess which one I liked more.

The fanbase it spawned being one of them

It's loosely based on a true story. William in real life was one of the few non Japanese to be officially named a samurai.

Sekiro has a few spin moves to be fair, on his standards attacks even.

Least you're self aware and saying you don't wanna play it because of white dude protagonist you sound like the media stop being retarded.

You realized wrong

Sucker Punch is a good studio so I’m willing to give Ghosts of Sushi a chance.

Nioh 2 is going to be amazing. Pic related.

Attached: Nioh.jpg (680x452, 57K)

The difference is I wouldn't be against it if it didn't come off as lazy, which every sub mission does. They feel like a way to pad the game, as you need the much needed gear to stat pad yourself and the main missions tend to jump up in levels quite a bit

So does Nioh. But these two games aren't about realism unlike GoT. It's this kind of half assed realism that triggers my autism like few things.

the only problem I'd have with moving to an interconnected world would be that it would make boss refights kind of weird

They're gonna screw up somehow, aren't they?

>most kino
Ghost of Sushi Island.

>most ludo
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

>most outdated because Sekiro is the verified ultimate Weeb Souls
Nioh 2.

Why? They are based on true interesting stories, the fuck is wrong with you.

fuck it I will check it out now. as for the race thing, I am a white dude myself, stop being a faggot and listening to this media stuff in the first place, it rots your brain. what I actually meant was just that nip media with le integrated foreigner just seems silly but whatever I'll give it a go now

It's Team Ninja. The chances of that happening are almost 99%. I'm still going to remain excited for Nioh 2 because I have nothing else to look forward to in my pathetic life.

>Sucker Punch is a good studio

Why?

I never play the Sly games so i won't comment on those but everything they have done since is archetypal western AAA uninspired trash.

>most outdated because Nioh is the verified ultimate Weeb Souls
Sekiro*

You didn't gave a single reason as to why it is a problem
>le integrated foreigner
What does that even mean?

>from flat out says sekiro is not like souls nor was it intended to be
>everyone still compares it to souls
Why

>I think if Nioh didn't have such horrible aesthetics and environment art it'd be way better than Dark Souls.
>Seriously half of FromSoft's talent is their environments and maps. Their boss fights in their A-team games always take place in impressive areas and the decoration is always on point.
You're complaining about Japan looking like Japan, Sekiro is a made up world, it's not meant to look like actual Japan, only a weeb's idea of what Japan was like.

>And the bosses themselves aren't literal whos, unlike Nioh
Case in point, all the bosses were either historical figures or actual japanese folklore monsters. Goes to show that weebs like you don't actually like Japan, only their idea of what Japan actually is which stems from their obsession with Naruto and cherry blossoms.

The developers can say whatever they want but if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck it's probably a duck even if its owner is calling it his dog.

>retarded loot system instead of well thought out and balanced weapons placed throughout the levels
>instead of making enemies difficult they just throw multiple ones at you
>offense magic is a meme
>debuff/buff magic breaks the game
>Enemy variety is like 10 different types
My favorite missions were the ones where they're like, "remember that boss fight? Well here he is again but he gets to bring his friend." Shit is straight lazy.

>My favorite missions were the ones where they're like, "remember that boss fight? Well here he is again but he gets to bring his friend." Shit is straight lazy.
Must be murder to be a zoomer who is this new to action video games.

>interested in Nioh after hearing it's like Dark Souls
>see it's some gay small evel-based shit instead of an interesting world to explore
and dropped

To Fromdrones everything is a variation of souls.

Attached: 7345790345.jpg (1280x720, 68K)

Not enough focus on stealth besides maybe getting in a cheeky backstab before the fight. It's not tenchu-like enough to avoid being compared to soulsborne games

Sekiro neither quacks or looks like a duck

It's level based but the levels are fun and open, they remind me a lot of the original Doom.

Yeah man watching two identical ai's chase you throughout the map while you try to split them apart and get a few hits in before running off again is peak action games.

>>instead of making enemies difficult they just throw multiple ones at you

Get lost Souls faggot. The encounter design being a bunch of 1v1 fights is literally one of it's main issues and it was changed to pander to mongoloids like you.

my reasoning is that it's corny
>ayo look at this gaijin being honorabu and shit

I'm not saying it's fundamentally impossible to do well, it's just very likely to be cheesy as fuck and poorly justified so I am always suspicious. it is like having somebody who isn't black be Blade, it has nothing to do with racebait idpol, Blade just has a Black Aesthetic™ and the same goes for a lot of these jap stories, it would be better if the protagonist was a nip himself. blade is black, witchers are white, samurai/ninja are japs, etc. it is lame that I have to disclaimer this shit because everybody's mind is consumed by idpol now

Holy bananas git gud Fromdrone. Christ almighty no wonder you scrubs think Sekiro is peak action gameplay.

You should play the game. While your criticism is correct it doesn't even apply to Nioh. I get triggered like nobody when it comes to corny characters and Nioh's story sat very well with me, I think William is a very will written character

>he says while defending nioh
Top lel. Nioh controls like shit compared to Sekiro.

Attached: 1528726087991.jpg (1076x1052, 85K)

>poorly justified
How is it being something that happened in history a poor justification? You are a fucking retard.
I bet you cried about the armored warrior in sekiro too.

What do you even mean by this? Nioh controls just fine. From couldn't make anything technically competent to save their lives. Suckiro on the PS4 has input lag.

Are you able to change his fucking outfit

I just said it was suspicious, I'm downloading it now tho since it's based on a real life person at least

That probably has more to do with the PS4 being a slow piece of shit than with Sekiro being badly programmed

GoT: great visuals, bad gameplay = failed
Sekiro: good visuals, awesome gameplay = new From masterpiece
Noh 2: good visuals, fine gamelay = good game

watch Shogun as well if you want it's the same real life story but with different names. Really neat story that shows of well japanese mentality and how foreign it was to william and others

Or maybe From is shit tier at optimizing. Sekiro's button inputs are less complex than in Nioh but they can't even get that right on their home turf. Absolutely embarrassing, just as you Fromdrones defending them. I bet you thought Blighttown and the Souls PC ports were fine as well.

Attached: 1553301555178.jpg (480x640, 12K)

Your priorities are beyond fucked up

Have you ever watched The Last Samurai?

Attached: what are you doing.jpg (1920x1080, 208K)

Those were dumb. My honest Odachi build was fucking useless because neither blocking nor dodging was really any good against double threats, and Odachi had no free invincible parry for massive damage skill either. It's shit because it's so disconnected from base mechanics of the game, which don't work well there.

Finally. I’ve found the OG weeb
>Adams had a high regard for Japan, its people, and its civilisation
>The people of this Land of Japan are good of nature, courteous above measure, and valiant in war: their justice is severely executed without any partiality upon transgressors of the law. They are governed in great civility. I mean, not a land better governed in the world by civil policy

He was forced to stay, doesn't mean he cannot have respect for japan you stupid fuck.

Perhaps the weebs were right all along and Japan simply is better.

ghost of tsushima looks like nu-god of war, no thanks.

Yeah, yet another interactive movie.

apart from the demons and stuff everything that happens in the game happened in real life.

The Sly games and Infamous were good. Second Son’s only real issue is that it didn’t really do much to improve upon 2.

>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Adams_(sailor,_born_1564)#Western_samurai

to be fair, he was a 16th century yuropoor, this was back when people were still being broken on the wheel for petty crimes, so it was refreshing to see a country where they just cut you a thousand times until you bleed to death instead

>implying the demons didn't also happen

the secular propaganda sure gave your perceptions a whirl

What's this feeling in my chest? Is this what having found your waifu feels like?

Team ninja has never made a bad game

GoT is made by westerners and is therefore the only weeb game on the list.

I'm not a weeb, stop projecting retard. If I was a weeb don't you think I'd recognise characters in nioh? Fucking dumbass.

Metroid: Other M

>If I was a weeb don't you think I'd recognise characters in nioh?
Yes. How the fuck do you not know who Ieyasu is? Or Sanada Yukimura? Fucking Naruto weeb

>Saris criticized Adams for his praise of Japan and adoption of Japanese customs:

>He persists in giving "admirable and affectionated commendations of Japan. It is generally thought amongst us that he is a naturalized Japaner." (John Saris)

>In Hirado, Adams refused to stay in English quarters, residing instead with a local Japanese magistrate. The English noted that he wore Japanese dress and spoke Japanese fluently.

okay, this is based

man the animations suck dick in this

Oh and if Sloth is still in the game in any capacity whatsoever then it is automatically a failure.

I hope Nioh 2 has Izuna Drops in the vanilla game, I never ended up bothering getting it in the first game because I didn't want to grind for it, so it would at least be nice to be able to do it in the second game.

Izuna Drop has no business being in the game if Hayabusa is not

They can put another Hayabusa in as an optional boss too, I wouldn't be complaining.

If they are gonna make him a joke like in 1 i'd rather not,

I'm really glad that I was wrong about Sekiro, I really thought that as it was Activision editing it I expected some cinematic garbage with stealth tacked on but it ended up being a great game with great combat
Ghost is going to be shit though mark no way around it, the combat is cinematic trash. I hope Nioh 2 will be okay

Well of course I'd want him to be a good fight if they put him in, but that just goes without saying.

you genuinely sound stupid i almost feel sorry youre probably american too i suspect

Sekiro doesn't have good gameplay just stop.

I'm American and had no problem with it. Stay obsessed though.

Why are you guys so hard on this user? I think he sounds adorable.

ninja gaiden 3

ill stay obsessed till you get shot which wont be long

nioh has the better ost

Attached: 46a.png (645x729, 97K)

Nioh might just have the most repetitive and forgettable OST associated with this theme

*flutes on your dick*

>what is stamina bar
>what is bait and punish gameplay loop

imagine having taste THIS bad

Wtf Samuraibros, we are supposed to stay together and show all the other plebs how superior our genre is.
All 3 games cover the essential features of Banzaikino.

>Sekiro
Enjoying the feeling of high-octane combat with sickass shinobi abilities, 1000 parries and airtight dodges
>Ghosts of Tsushima
Lone Ronin style of exploration and interaction with great atmosphere and cinematic moments
>Nioh 2
Appearances of historical figures and vast content to explore the cool lore

Please play all of them. We have been waiting really long for such a high-budgeted lineup of Katanagames

Attached: fanartai-saitou.jpg (600x716, 96K)

Dark souls invented the stamina bar? Besides ki recovery, stances and skills make the stamina system play completely differently.
The bait and punish yeah, I guess it’s like dark souls. But it’s not like dark souls didn’t copy things from other games

I don’t know bro, sekiro and nioh 2 for sure but GoT feels like it’s gonna be wack

>be a fanboy with absolute shit taste
>project it onto others

>airtight dodges
ogre and snake eyes would like a word with you

ogress and okatsu themes belong in the vidya ost hall of kino

>eurocuck
>believes in gun control
Makes sense

Based Nioh with limb dismemberment.

I'll take getting shot over getting raped by Muslim refugees.

KT did well with Nioh. Instead of their usual $20 weapon and costume packs, we got proper DLC expansions.

I've played Sekiro and intend to play Nioh 2, but GoT is leaving me cold so far. Exploration has to be amazing to justify shit combat (to elaborate, it is slow, it appears to be very simple, enemies are unaggressive and refuse to attack en masse so simpleness of the base system cannot be offset by the need for precise execution and crowd management, and there are too many cinematic moment interruptions) and the stronk womyn warrior being front and center.

You're missing the point. "Movie game" isn't just having cutscenes and all that. It has to do with the gameplay being dumbed down and streamlined to the point where the player actually has very little input. Dynamic and evolving things don't happen. Take something like the last of us, where damn near every encounter is scripted with little bells and whistles to get you to play it there way. It looks great in a trailer, but in practice it's incredibly shallow. If you wanted MGS to be the comparison, consider all of the things that people are STILL discovering in each of those games. Yes, there are cutscenes. Long ones, even in MGS1. But skipping those doesn't mean missing gameplay elements like say, grappling with an enemy, or being put on rails as your one button counter plays out.

I've beaten sekiro like 15 times. There's plenty of replay value if the gameplay is top-notch

this is the most retarded definition ever
by your definition of movie game the BIG MAJORITY of games are movie games, even all the classics

Personally I don't intend to play GoT for the gameplay, to which many may shake their heads right now.
But I can accept the watered down combat if the rest provides me with the stuff that Sekiro or Nioh simply won't present,
like entering a small bar during the night only to trigger a scripted event where some agressive, drunken thugs want to lash out their frustration about the war on the rest of the clientele only for you to step in and disable them swiftly.
Is the way of doing so shallow? Probably. But that doesnt take away from the badassery if presented well.

Basically, what I want is a playable Kurosawa movie but I can see why people refuse to play that. I just hope peoples expectations shift from combat to story/presentation and can see the value in that too.

Attached: 68106994_p0.jpg (2113x3033, 1.23M)

I'm sorry but if I wanted that then I'd watch a Kurosawa movie. Games have shit graphics compared to films, the only thing they bring to the table is gameplay. Games are, for me, a terrible medium for pure storytelling. But hey, I can see why some people like that kind of movie games.

Boss refights shouldn't have been a thing - they were clearly a way to cheap out and pad play time.
