Over a decade ago when I was about fourteen, I was playing this and for some reason brought it up to my friends. I was a stupid Yea Forumstard and liked to say shocking things, and I saw this in a thread where everyone was absolutely marveling over how degenerate it was, trying to discover everything. Here is the only company where I can say 'it was just for the sake of fascination' and be believed. Anyway, I remember knowing that my friends wouldn't believe I played such a game for that reason, so I pretended I followed some link by accident But one of my friends was a little too interested. The next time I saw him, he mentioned 'so I looked up that game...', and told me how there was a huge wall of text explaining how you can't get in unless you click a specific spot on the screen, to make sure you're absolutely sure of what you're about to do. Then there was a horrible moment of silence. Then he said, 'it was good'. Then I changed the topic and we never spoke about it again. But some time later, mabye months maybe years I can't remember, he went for a shit and I tried browsing Yea Forums on his computer because I was still a Yea Forumstard at the time. And when I tried to post, turned out he was permenantly banned for posting actual CP.

Just out of curiosity I went to the CN website and it seems now the only legal way I can enter the US website is using a VPN because without that option it redirects me to the dedicated portal for my country, even using the dotcom approach. Depends on the difficulty you play on. On easy you don't even need any thinking. On medium it's good to make early strategic alliance that will let you grab more cities. On difficult you actually have to use leftovers of your army to shield bigger armies because AI doesn't like to expose itself to counterattack and build big armies before pushing. Also early alliance is mandatory because AI will also make alliances so there is possibility you might get ganged up on depending on geography. Playing red is advantageous because you get to propose alliance first.
Picrel is medium difficulty gameplay. Early alliance allowed me to secure with ease northern cities and quickly eliminate Violets while Blues were fighting with Greens. Then I put my armies on the border with Blues in preparation to backstab them and rush their capital, but they launched preemptive strike so I just send 2 armies at their weakened capital. Then it's just cleaning up Greens who for some reason decided to push straight for my capital instead of regaining eastern cities that had literally nothing after assault on Blue capital. That was their mistake and now I have couple big armies there going straight at their HQ.
