If your main memories of vanilla are world pvp, dishonorable kills sort of immediately kill your chance to re-live those memories, especially since they were added at the very tail end of vanilla and swiftly removed due to how retarded they were

The issue is dishonorable kills were only in for roughly 5% of vanillas life, and literally killed off part of the game

So if the ENTIRETY of classic had them, that's not exactly re living it with no changes, that's just pure unlucky they decided to roll the game out on that specific patch

tl;dr spergs sperged out because they couldn't raid towns anymore to deter quest progress for other faction'd players for like a few minutes.

Means that you hold no value (Killing other players gives you Honor Points in WoW) to the opposing faction if some one kills you after you have just teleported or have just arrived somewhere ( Most of the time you will be on a loading screen).

There was no such things on Classic.

Well, town raids seem fun but getting camped seems pretty bullshit.

The reason it fucking matters is because it absolutely killed City Raiding.

A single DHK had the potential to make it impossible to reach Rank 14, definitely would fuck you from getting Rank 12-14

So World PvP pretty much died the patch it came in.

Dishonorable kills were added only a month after the original honor system launched and were in the game until the prepatch when the entire system was removed (~18 out of ~24 months that vanilla was out). How is that 5%? Is this some zoomer meme?

We will have to see how everything will play out. In any case, no one is forcing you to play on a PvP Server, so I really don't care about all the bitching here.

As flawed as dishonorable kills are... If you take that out then the flood gates are open. What else do you change? Well dungeon finder did make things much easier and faster. Maybe add that back in? Much better than wasting time running to the dungeon each time and being camped at the gate by an opposing faction. Makes those areas pretty unplayable.

On that same note let's make bosses instanced or rather shared loot like in the current system. Maybe use the new models too since it's only cosmetic.

It means (generally speaking) that you cannot kill the opposing faction on the open world. Everything else is pretty much the same.

It's not like DKs are permanent... It just takes away some RP that you can make back. If you are grinding for rank 14 you make 12000-13000 RP in a week and a DK takes away 100 RP.

on pvp servers you're automatically flagged to be attacked when you enter any "contested" territory, i.e. territory that doesn't explicitly belong to your faction.

on pve servers you can control when you choose to flag in most zones, so people can't engage you unless you decide you want to fight.

For a single dishonorable kill to matter you would basically have to be among the least active players on the server and then your rank would be decaying whether you're getting dishonorable kills or not.

There's both +shadow dmg and +heal gear, so it ain't shared with some exceptions (benediction staff)
Personally i found spriest cozy and fucking powerful on wpvp, especially after getting shadoweave armor+shadow form

Doesn't this make Tauren hunters ridiculously OP? It sounds like it would be almost impossible to deadzone them (that is, get in the sweet spot where a hunter can't melee *or* shoot). If they can melee a target up to 7 yds away, and they have a minimum range of 8 yards for their shots, the deadzone is tiny.

Which class is best for not dying while questing. Hunter is among the safest classes while leveling, actually.

I've never played vanilla WoW, I started with TBC. Here's what I want to know.
Can you, realistically, farm some of the mid-low level dungeons as a level 60 character? Be honest here.
Oh and by mid level dungeons I mean about Maraudon to Uldaman level. I'm specifically interested in Uldaman level though. Reason I ask is because one of my main sources of fun in WoW was gearing up twink characters for BGs. The 19 BGs were a bit dull IMHO, I prefered the 29, 39 and 49 brackets.
I was hoping I could farm Uldaman for a Pendulum of Doom but I don't know if vanilla characters could pull it off in a timely manner.
I mean let's be honest, if you said to me 'yes technically you can beat Uldaman solo but it'll take 30-40 minutes' then that's probably no good because something like the Pendulum of Doom is going to take thousands of runs more than likely.

If Uldaman is too hard to do, what about Maraudon and lower?

DKs were added in patch 1.5. The same patch the first battlegrounds, Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley, were added. They were there for almost the entirety of vanilla (only the first 3 patches didn't have them out of 11 patches)

Because I played it already back in the day. It was a fucking blast, especially because one of those pvp gods from my realm took me as a protege and taught me all kinds of tricks on how to beat noobs in the game. For example, you could stack different ranks of touch of weakness and then unleash that shit with your wand. That could easily do couple hundreds of damage, great way of starting combat. They did nerf that at some point by making touch of weakness proc only on being attacked but shit was so cash before that.

Sunken cost fallacy is a bitch, it certainly took me a long time to finally let go of my main despite all of the rare titles/mounts I'd gotten over the years. Funnily enough it was because the game became so bloated with titles/mounts/pets that it made the rare ones I did have feel so utterly empty and meaningless. Having 100 rare pets or mounts to collect is fine but when you hit the 500 mark and beyond it just becomes a game for completionists, which is horrifying because WoW is a treadmill with no end.

ele shaman has more buttons to press, but shadow priest is better in pvp. both are pretty good though.

warlock is probably a better choice, as a priest you will be forced to healslut raids until you get your offspec epics and can PvP.
