I havent really worked out the details for the system goes, but as far as a concept goes I would make a game that has an alignment with the force except you have little direct control over it through specific choices, and it's more gameplay context

the idea being the dark side is constantly trying to corrupt you, and if you want to stay on the light side it will require extra effort, think of it as the dark side being easy mode and the light side being hard mode

your characters emotions will actually be a mechanic
so the more damage you take for example, the more pain you feel, that starts to turn you closer to the dark side
so you need to not only be very careful to avoid damage in the first place but also take time to recenter yourself
as you become more angry or frustrated it will give you the ability to tap into the dark side to power yourself up or give you temporary access to more powerful versions of your abilities, give you bonus experience for the battle
or you could choose to go the hard way and not use the entirely optional power ups given to you, and stay the course, level up the old fashioned way

so you can make the choice of leaning into the dark side and just going for it, being very powerful from the beginning
or avoid it as best you can only achieving a powerful character towards the end of the game

Honestly, this is what Episode 7 (and the whole sequel trilogy) should have been. This feels more like the next generation of the Jedi in comparison to "Rey is perfect because she is Rey." I liked the Inquisitors from Rebels so that looks intriguing. The player character needs to die by the end of it though. It would have been better if you played as an actual Jedi that avoided Order 66. I also would have preferred to play as an alien for a change.
