It was fun, but also pretty autistic. Some of the servers were glorified chat rooms where people just walked around and talked with the occasional duel, others were just constant fighting. Almost every server had guns and force disabled though, so if you really liked the weapons or character building it was a bit disappointing.

I have nothing to apologize for. DF2:JK was the first game I dumped hundreds of hours into. My first MP experience. Still my favorite game of all time, even if I prefer the MP of Outcast. I remember when I first got JO my computer couldn't run it so I had to save up for a new card and WinXP, and then the MP was super laggy because 56k modem, took a year of pleading to convince my parents to switch to cable, and my god what a difference. From a bicycle to a Saturn V rocket.
I'll be honest, I don't need Katarn or SP period, just give me JO/JA combat and modability with 2019 grafics and physics.

That's not how the damn force works. There's no dicking around in the "middle" because there is no middle. If you use the force out of anger or fear, or to harm or destroy with ill intent, you are tapping the dark side and will eventually succumb to it with repeated use.

This. The Jedi weren't flawed because they were too light side or whatever, they were flawed because they were too stiff. They had a thousand years without any real challenge and it made them stuffy and arrogant while they lounged around in their temple on the Republic capital. They got blindsided because they were too comfortable.

Qui-Gon is presented as a foil to this. He's proactive instead of reactive. He prefers to follow the will of the Force rather than adhere to a strict dogma. He could sit on the council if he would follows all the rules, but doesn't want to because he doesn't want to sit around in the temple, choosing instead to stay active out in the galaxy righting wrongs. He exudes more compassion and warmth than the other Jedi we see in the prequels. And it's implied that Anakin probably would have turned out better if Qui-Gon had gotten to train him because Obi-Wan and the Jedi weren't equipped to handle him.

But he's not some gray Jedi. He doesn't tap into the dark side. He doesn't sit in some dumb middle ground between light and dark. He's just more flexible than the other more orthodox Jedi.
