Is this the softest, most sensitive community of all-time?
Amazes me that they want to be taken as a legitimate competitive "sport", but any sort of trash talk at all is viewed as sin. When was the last time an NFL or NBA player was permanently banned from the league for calling their competitors garbage?

It's the goddamn tap water goblins at Riot who have done their best at trying to sanitize the community. The normal and casual players are chill, but the rest of them are as "toxic" as any other vidya community is. Only the minority are those noodle arm anti-toxicity soibois

Back in the day you could trash talk as much as you wanted. Nowdays you type "kys" once and you get banned. It's just not fun anymore. Every ounce of soul that the game once had is gone forever.
This is one of the biggest examples of a hiveminding subreddit completely fucking over a community. The LoL reddit mods are paid off by riot to influence what posts get to the top and what don't.
The people defending toxicity and complaining about not being able to say nigger in LoL and Overwatch are the same who starts whining like tumblrinas as soon as someone starts writing in a non-english language on the chat

Naw, if you were even remotely BM back in the brood war days good players just wouldn't practice with you. You'd get put on blacklists and if you showed up to tournaments you'd be instantly treated with suspicion. This attitude still survives in Korea from what I understand.
Something about the nature of team games convinces people that it's a good idea to be completely unpleasant jackasses. When players ask that there be measures to isolate these people from the rest of the community who can play games without verbally abusing their teammates they are shocked, bewildered that these requests are met and no one cares about them getting muted, banned, or put into matchmaking that only includes shitheads like them.
Funny enough, this mentality seems to extend to team versus individual sports as well. Everyone I've met at Judo competitions has been universally pleasant, gracious, and helpful even if they fucking walloped me. Whereas my friend who plays Rugby reports saltier attitudes at his competition games, albeit, not nearly as bad as a typical league of legends ranked game.
I downloaded this game yesterday but uninstalled it before actually playing. Feels like I dodged a bullet.

Try to be more creative with your trashtalking without resorting to foul language. Roleplaying as the champion you are playing is a fun way to do so. It's why I main Kled.
Because enforcing trash talk rules in a competitive environment is fucking torture and ends up creating more anger. Even friendlier players can't help it. It's even worse when it's bait-able and all you have to do is send a ticket and cry to Riot about what they did and how it hurt your feelings and they get the other dude banned/chat restricted with no context.
