SMT Nocturne would be a lot better if the protagonist was just a regular human instead of a demon like other SMT games. For one it would allow the player of having additional ending because they can form their own reason and isn't just a errand boy for the entire game. It would also make more sense in how he can summon demons since he would have a COMP with him instead of just randomly having demons pop out of thin air. This goes for the other human characters like Isamu and Chiaki because how the fuck do they even survive in the vortex world without demon allies? Magatama would changed or at least altered so it isn't homogenized into a single item but different armor, weapons and spellbooks you can obtain allowing for further build options (and skills wouldn't be hidden)

Anyway Shin Megami Tensei thread.

No, Demi-fiend being Demi-fiend makes SMT3 way more interesting than the previous two games. I'd even say the premise is more interesting than the games that come after it aswell.

Not really. I already explained why it would be better.

Bump

another bump

>I want every game to be the same instead of trying new things
The whole point is that you can't create your own reason so you're stuck between those crap reasons with terrible setbacks and you must choose between your humanity and demon side.
>This goes for the other human characters like Isamu and Chiaki because how the fuck do they even survive in the vortex world without demon allies?
Most time they show up they're either seriously injured or captured.

And that's why it's limited. Trying new things doesn't matter when the execution wasn't good. How is being stuck with 4 terrible endings (reasons and demon), 1 decent one (freedom) and the only good one (TDE) a good thing? The game very much locks you in. Chiaki is only showed injuried once thoughout the game, and Isamu is only captured once also.

No, you gave your opinion on why it would be better. And it was really fucking stupid.

It's not really a opinion though. It's some things to fix a mediocre game.

Ye, that’s some weak-ass bait
Ur a fagget OP.

I know you are really defensive over Nocturne but the plot and characters aren't good, nor is being a demon actively change the game. By default the player isn't in any danger when he starts compared to the others. He's a demon with added strength while everyone is weak and frail. That's hurts the atomsphere and immersive.

>bait
Nocturnebabbies are honestly pathetic.

k

I bet you would defend 4/5 of the stats being worthless too.

k

I don't even like Nocturne as much as the other games because it lacks the sci-fi stuff like COMPS but your suggestions are lame and wrong.
Nocturne is a Chaos-centered game and the Demi-fiend being half demon is not only aesthetically in line with the game's theme but also central to the plot. It makes perfect sense why he's able to have demon allies since he's literally part demon which allows him to communicate with them and his human side can feed them magnetite as long as he's their level. This bypasses any need for a COMP and is actually superior compared to SMT I and II COMPs. The Demi-fiend being half-demon doesn't prevent him from making reasons, that's all on Nocturne's story.

Digital Devil Saga is the only good PS2 SMT game anyways.

>would allow the player of having additional ending because they can form their own reason
That's literally what the entire game is about.

> randomly having demons pop out of thin air
They are always with him following him around. Demons are just everywhere.

> Isamu and Chiaki because how the fuck do they even survive in the vortex world without demon allies?
We see what happens with them. They get fucked up. Especially Chiaki. Nearly fucking dies.

> different armor, weapons and spellbooks
So just turn it into a generic JRPG. Got it.

>nor is being a demon actively change the game
Lucifer is literally trying to make you into his demon general to wage war against god.

>Nocturne is a Chaos-centered game
So? That doesn't mean shit. II is law-centered but it doesn't very much lock you in.
>Demi-fiend being half demon is not only aesthetically in line with the game's theme but also central to the plot
No it doesn't. All it really does it give the player a advantage for no real reason and basically make him chosen one (Lucy specifically picked him). You never actually make a decision for yourself, you are just following along everyone own ideals not your own.
>It makes perfect sense why he's able to have demon allies since he's literally part demon which allows him to communicate with them and his human side can feed them magnetite as long as he's their level
It makes perfect sense to randomly summon demons out of thin air? Where are they and where are they summon from? Besides magnetite isn't in Nocturne
>This bypasses any need for a COMP and is actually superior compared to SMT I and II COMPs
Yeah no. Context is better than no context
>The Demi-fiend being half-demon doesn't prevent him from making reasons, that's all on Nocturne's story
Demons can't create reasons. If you were human it would provide addtional optuons to the player and make more logical sense to align with other reasons not your own.

Yes it very much locks you into the TDE route. That's not a good thing for a series where all alignments are meant to be equal and not one should have a bias.

>That's literally what the entire game is about.
Demons can't create their own reasons.

>They are always with him following him around. Demons are just everywhere.
That doesn't explain anything

>We see what happens with them. They get fucked up. Especially Chiaki. Nearly fucking dies.
Once in the entire game and that's because Chiaki tried to pick a fight with the Manaki killer. Otherwise they are the ones actually experiencing how dangerous the vortex world since they are at a disadvantage.

>So just turn it into a generic JRPG. Got it
>SMT 1-IVF are generic rpgs
>having actual customization options are bad.
