I considered GT4 to look much better than GT3 back when 4 released.

It still surprises me that GT3 was made in 2001. It still looks damn good to this day. I'd say that it impresses me more than most modern games.

It only had 4 cars per race, no actual career mode, really hard to get money and you could only purchase from a couple of brands per game day which meant you could go a year playing until the dealership you wanted appeared

one good point it had was that the driving felt more like GT3 than GT4

I'm leaning towards the latest Burnout since it has a nice smashing and racing feel to it. Anything better?

Very good. 60 fps and the physics are basically lifted from 4. No analog throttle though and no career mode so there's less incentive to keep playing. Don't really know what they were thinking with that one.
Test Drive Unlimited is also on the PSP, 30ishfps and the same shitty physics as the PC version, but it has the full map and it's fun to drive around.
Ridge racers in the PSP is fantastic as well. But now I have no buttons? Also the remote play thing is out of the question. I'm a medfag on residency, with a thinkpad as my main PC so it's not strong enough nor is the internet where I am fast enough.
Just wish snoy put a tad bit more effort into this thing.

GT2 and GT3 are the GOAT. I prefer 2 a tad more but they're both amazing. 1 and 4 were great too, and 6 was alright. Fuck 5 though. Haven't played Sport although I'm tempted to get it because of the patched-in single player stuff. I wish the series would go back to the slow-burn caRPG style progression though.

It's probably the premier Ridge Racer experience you can have on PC right now, especially if you bump up the internal resolution.

Killing GT6's servers was a dick move. I've had the game since 2014 and I never managed to update it because of my shitty third world internet (2mbps). Thus I can't play online. I finally managed to get good speed because for some fucking reason it took a long time to bring decent ISPs in my area. It was around 2018, way after the servers were killed. I didn't know the servers were dead until I launched the new, updated, game and couldn't do anything online.
I was fucking angry at myself for missing out on something this big.

There was a trick to get that thing to do wheelies in GT2. I remember fucking with the gear ratios or whatever and taking it to the test track. It was pretty neato.

If you want a game similar to the gif you posted i would suggest gta 5 online stunt racing, yeah its a normalfag game but the online racing is actually pretty decent with all sorts of crazy tracks, including the hotring races
