Couldn't you just completely circumvent the need for the EGS launcher by buying it digitally on the microsoft store and then just playing it through the Xbox app on your PC?
Couldn't you just play online with Xbox Live which you can get a month free like nothing? Just play the main game through that and then wait for it to drop on steam with all the DLC for cheaper. Fuck Tencent and fuck Epic Games

if they sell it on the microsoft store you should be able to do it without fucking with the xbox app but if you dont i think youd have to stream the game from your xbox to pc, which is a waste of time and effort

Isn't it the only hurdle the Live you'd need to play online, which you can get a trial pretty easy to play the whole campaign within a month. Or at least that is what I remember a friend doing for Forza a year or so back
I think the puplisher needs to okay their game for the buy anywhere stuff and I doubt 2K will do it. Might just get an xbone x for the game and play red dead 2 while I wait since pc version doesn't have lan so no coop on pirate version.
