2 is the only good one. Why does this series still exist? There have literally been no changes to it's gameplay whatsoever ever since the first one.

Its interesting they are trying to change the formula/gameplay up some but the simple fact that 4 and 5 are pointless existences in the franchise makes me not give a single fuck.

2 was great, unbalanced as fuck but really fun
3 was extreamly balanced and a very fun game
Judgement removed the abilty to play as locust, so i stopped giving a shit just like when halo removed the abilty to play as elites
i forgot 4 came out and never played it

i never cared for gears campaigns and there fucking annoying in difficulty

Personally don't see that as a positive. Gears 1 and 2 are my favorite primarily due to their deliberately tight level layouts. If you're referring to MP, couldn't give less of a shit.

Gears is still around but its more of an obligation at this point than something people want.

Based on the trailer, Generic Laura Bailey Stronk Female Character #547 is going to make for an extremely bitchy and unlikeable character. The way she essentially told the Fenix family to fuck off from their own series at the beginning of the trailer was a big turn off.

Couldn't get into 4 at all. Didn't even mind the change of characters (except for Mexican with top knot/man bun which is cringy as fuck like the cyperpunk demo).

I just didn't want to be chainsawing robots. Who the fuck thought chainsawing metal drones would be satisfying in any way.

tired of women in games honestly.
people think it's just sexism but it's not. wars have historically been fought by men so naturally 99.9% of war heroes are men too. women on the other hand has historically lived a much more sedentary lifestyle in comparison, so people don't associate women with wars, combat, battle whatever because they weren't there. people can relate to that because all we know about such scenarios was told through a man's perspective, but now they want to reverse the roles for the sake of representation but it never feels genuine or true because facts say otherwise. so they create a typical stoic, gritty male character in a female body and it never makes sense. or they stay true to the female stereotype with the same scenario but that doesn't feel right either.
if they want to tell stories through a female's perspective they need to put more effort into building up the character from the bottom so players can understand and relate to her motivations, just because it doesn't make sense by default for a woman to be in whatever situation (fictional or not) AND most gamers are male and don't know anything about the hardships (lol) women face in their lives, so how could they possibly relate.

i'm not really smart or articulate enough to make posts like this but this is what i feel is the case anyway. female characters aren't the problem, the people trying to shoehorn them into everything for no good reason is.
