It's just an anatomy lesson. In the gameplay you fight by bodyslamming other cubivores into submission, then rip their limbs off causing them to spurt square-shaped puddles of blood. One of the upgrades you can get is a fang that allows you to rip more limbs off at a time.

One of my favorite games. Got it for my birthday after seeing an ad for it in Nintendo Power. Turns out it had been discontinued, so my old man got it for cheap from a warehouse or some shit. It kills me that Nintendo just sits on this beautiful IP.
