It's something from some manga. It was basically the insides of a human, still functioning brain and such, digestion system and asshole included, hanging up from something and the asshole just drips shit out of it.

It's just an anatomy lesson. In the gameplay you fight by bodyslamming other cubivores into submission, then rip their limbs off causing them to spurt square-shaped puddles of blood. One of the upgrades you can get is a fang that allows you to rip more limbs off at a time.

They were made for the N64DD (in fact, they along with Animal Crossing were probably the original IP games meant to push the add-on) and they didn't get enough polish for the Gamecube rerelease
