From what I can tell they want it to crash so it starts from scratch again. However this just isnt possible. Even if a crash were to occur the effects would be WORSE than what we have now. You would get super safe titles and thats it.

In the event of a crash huge investors would pull out of companies like EA, Ubisoft, and Activision causing them to go belly up. In the absence of these big publishers the average pleb wouldn't have trash like CoD or Asscreed and would be forced to buy other games to get their fix allowing smaller developers a better chance for success.

I don’t think we’ll ever see that sort of crash that happened 40 years ago ever again. However, current day Triple A publishers are hitting a ceiling of trying to maximize profits where they can’t possibly keep maxizing regardless of how many aspect of quality control they cut because the demand for better and better yearly earning is just that endless.

I don’t know what the future will be like but I’ll be surprised if guys like Activision Blizzard or EA ever remain the same
