But we saw the protagonist walking and crawling and that's been the majority of Kojima gameplay for a decade.
Kojima just wants to creep on white girls
True, but MGSV had the best TPS-melee controls ever, it's just the laughable enemy design that reduces his games to crawling sims. But this time the enemies are aliens, so it might end up a proper action game like all his games prior to MGS3?
That wasn't an insult. CQC and shooting are always fun but MGSV controlled well despite being mostly just walking and sneaking. On paper if death stranding sounds like a walking sim I wouldn't even care since the walking would feel good. That reads like kojima drone mind control shilling but whatever.
>CQC and shooting are always fun
The CQC is the most dated mechanic in MGS, it doesn't compare to the controls of any classic bmup released in this century, yet Kojima himself must have checked in on MGR extensively and knows how it should be done. By this point he should have provided us with an interactive equivalent of the crazy shit Snake pulls off in MGS3 cutscenes. Instead CQC is the most overpowered shit in the game (followed by tranq) and has less unpredictability than a QTE (at least enemies can "attack" during those, you can fail them). It should be about situational awareness and dodging/countering, instead you basically trap enemies helplessly into an animation knockout. Meanwhile, the TPS controls could arguably be considered the best of that year (even top 10 all time). But even the shooting falls flat when enemies again show no resistance to it at all.

You're right that even merely walking looks and feels great in a Kojima game. But that's a wasted opportunity when he doesn't also perfect the action end of the spectrum.
Lea isn't white.
?
Didn’t rumors come out recently saying this is a huge mess and likely won’t be released?
>less than a year to go
lmao
With the new xbox looming on the horizon there's no real doubt that they're delaying it to be a ps5 launch title at this point. No other game would get people to adopt it as quickly as they'd like.
Fuck that, they stole the control scheme straight from Splinter Cell Blacklist. Your problem stems from not playing enough games, but still trying to speak from authority.
>Didn’t rumors come out recently saying this is a huge mess and likely won’t be released?
Sounds like anti-Kojima mythology.
PS5 won't be before the Tokyo 2020.
I've played Blacklist. It's MGS4 done right, and obviously a template for MGSV. Blacklist supports everything I say, since it ultimately comes across as superior due to having the greater enemy design. MGSV still has even better controls though. SC:B isn't as dynamic, can't compare to MGSV's from-tiptoe-to-sprinting pace, diving all over the place, proper bmup style melee, crawling/rolling, elegant control scheme (iirc you can't even change shoulder view on SC), better animations, etc. Only real superiority SC:B has in controls is the whole climbing aspect, which would have broken MGSV even more.
It's like you just happened to play the one game that's the biggest influence on it and then you think that compensates for an actual breadth of played games and being able to parse those experiences theoretically. And you accuse me of that, lmao. Did you even play them both? Are you fucking blind to how much better V looks and feels.
You just know.
She's a lesbian.
I know he probably works to hard to care about such things but he really should just stick to the slick, auteur-look in pic-related instead of that nerdy school kid look.
why?
Only in your favourite movie.
It's vapourware m8, either that or it'll be some shitty walking sim. Kojimbobaroony has completely lost the plot.
None of his games have been either, he just bottle-necks his latest games with some bad design decisions. There's no reason not to think this could be an exception though.
Mgs4 was terrible and MgsV was an unfinished mess.
I miss Caramel..
>Mgs4 was terrible and MgsV was an unfinished mess.
Neither of those descriptions equate to vapourware or walking-sim. Acts1-2 of 4 were alright tasters of big open levels combined with sneaking past factional warfare (a weird omission in V). MGSV being unfinished is irrelevant when even the finished parts aren't amazing anyway, and like everyone keeps saying the controls and feel are amazing.
>iirc you can't even change shoulder view on SC
No, you don't recall correctly. It's probably really difficult to recall something that you never touched, that mechanic was essentially invented by Splinter Cell. So was the smooth transition from slow walk to sprinting.
You sure type a bunch of bullshit for someone who has never touched those games. It somehow doesn't give you any credibility.
This strong soul sista is just light-skinned.

Lying troll.
>So was the smooth transition from slow walk to sprinting
I didn't deny that, I just pointed out that the extremes at each end are greater in MGSV, you can tiptoe/crawl with greater sensitivity and sprint at a way faster pace.
>You sure type a bunch of bullshit for someone who has never touched those games. It somehow doesn't give you any credibility.
Burden of proof is on you to show that you can change shoulder view in SC:B (beyond holding a hostage), which is pretty fucking basic for a TPS stealth game since camera is so important for sneaking and shooting.
Also you ignored all the other examples I gave of why MGS has the superior controls. But let's stick to the camera and speed-dynamics since you are actually challenging those then.
What bothers me is that everyone who has seen the game in motion is praising it as the second coming that shatters the modern notions about video games in a way only the genius of Kojima could have envisioned. For the record Kojima has yet to make a game with bad gameplay but it's hard to take this project seriously. I am not sure whether the last two MGS games were shit on purpose (at least MGS 4 looks like a hatefuck of the franchise) or not so that doesn't help it either.
>What bothers me is that everyone who has seen the game in motion is praising it as the second coming that shatters the modern notions about video games in a way only the genius of Kojima could have envisioned
In what sense? Simply the narrative themes or what you actually do in the game? Examples of the later would be like how people say REmake2 was an evolution in survival horror or BOTW was an evolution in open-world.

Neither are shit, and both are the result of design problems that were already present in MGS3 but hidden/mitigated by cramped level design and locked-camera, so no way are those problems intentionally bad. The idea that a AAA director would sabotage their own game for artistic reasons is fucking conspiracy tier retardation.
