why do so many people watch this when apparently no one plays the game?

The rule of thumb is if Yea Forums is seething over a game constantly then it's probably good. Just do the opposite of the hive mind here. I mean have you seen how angry breath of the wild makes some of these people?
OWL isn't sustainable and Blizzard went full retard franchising it immediately instead of allowing a grassroots scene that already existed thrive.
Very boring to watch
The OWL was a mistake, the devs fisted it down everyones throats and as a result of that, development of the game took a back seat. The game went from fun experience to a massive headache, new characters are there to fix the meta first rather than being added for fun.
Because it's less painful to just watch the game.
I tried to watch it once to see what it was like. There's way too much shit going on, on screen because of the deluge of particle effects and terrible choice of cameras to follow what the fuck is going on.
