No. It removed the intricacy of board smarts and item usage, lowered the amount of coins, stars, and movement, and added in partners, which do nothing but give you an extra dice and an extra 0 to 2 spaces. It has half the minigames, and not being able to retardy it is just an extra reason to hate it.

I think all the mechanics it had were a good start, but the game desperately needed balance patches and more content. If they make a sequel the least they can do is make 6 or 7 boards and the option to set star prices and items available. SMP always winds up with people gunning for the gold pipes and it makes the game super unfun.
