Are videogames political?

Who knows...

no

I hate whores

If you believe video games are political, that means /pol/ has every right to be here.

No. But political are video games.

REMEMBER THE DECADE?

Yes it’s only problem for people when it’s politics they don’t like

Political video games are.
Also she looks like she was born in 98.

Now-a-days, everything is political, user. From video games, to cartoons, to the pictures on cereal boxes, to bathrooms, down to socks who are marketed for men but aren't feminine enough for trannies

The personal is political. All the academics agree on this.

Hearing someone say "keep your politics out of my _____" is the quickest way to confirm they are a total fucking brainlet. It's genuinely the dumbest fucking thing and I can't believe anyone over the age of 18 is enough of a retard to think all the media they enjoy is somehow completely free of politics.

I've seen people argue that FPS games set during the events of actual real wars are not political. There is no reasoning with these children.

This but unironically

no and they shouldn't be

I was a teenager once.

Yes. People who don't like video games + wannabe females (including trannies) + history revisionists for the sake of "inclusivity" ruin the experience for everyone else.

I hate the idea you can't love something genuinely if you were "born too late" though. I was born in 94 but honestly wish I were born earlier to experience the shifts the industry went through in the early days and play the classics at a real arcade. I've got superhuman memory that goes back a long time so I remember a lot of the mid-late 90s and the old advertising and stuff but for anything further back all we have is archival shit.

No.

pls tell me this beautiful thing has a penis

FUCK OFF

You remember stuff when you were 5? My parents took me to Disneyland when I was 5 and I remember dick

This is a fucking stupid question.
No video games aren’t inherently political just like books and movies aren’t inherently political. It’s a medium. It can be political if the person making it wants it to be but it’s not forced to be.
If you’re asking whether or not video games SHOULD be political then you’re an idiot

91 here. I have a love for the 80s from movie reruns on TV, listening to synth pop and rock from the time, and I'll quite happily play any old game and evaluate it as it is. I like to give it all a good chance. I respect the limitations.
Sometimes, when I do housework, I'll blast some Genesis from my speakers around the house.
My ringtone is rise from your grave from Altered Beast.
If I could have any arcade machine I'd get Outrun.

Politics is only bad when its poorly written, which is most videogames.

My favorite all time movies are Total Recall and Labyrinth and Bill and Ted.

why did haxor leave cowchop?

They are now. Political activists have taken it as their platform to empower women and minorities.

I’m really torn on this. People use video games as escapism and therefore should be pushed out of videogames, but some political commentary would be also okay in a way to tease both sides, in order to stay relevant. Don’t push sjw shit in a video game just to have sjw shit. In a way it should be like south park, that is if there is any political commentary.

I seriously remember stuff from when I was like 2 and 3 years old my dude, vividly. I remember my first games on the SNES and asking my dad how to do basic actions as a literal toddler

>and I'll quite happily play any old game and evaluate it as it is. I like to give it all a good chance. I respect the limitations.
I've always been of the opinion that you should judge games based on how they were compared to their contemporaries

Fatso dont like the division 2 made clear armed people have more chances of surviving a collapsin society, so he said vidya need politics: but being pro firearm IS a political stance. Its not the one that fatso like but is a political position.
Fatso, go die in a fire.

If she has piercings and/or tattoos she is a whore.

They shouldn't be, but idpol leftists make all media they touch political.

you don't remember anything before your fourth year, stop lying

Yes. There's an agenda in every single piece of popular media. But not by leftists or rightists... no, by the people who own both "parties".

Yes, although most political subtext is inconsequential and inoffensive. For example, if the hero of a game is in the military, it most likely has a pro-military message. That doesn't mean it draws attention to itself, it's just very basic subtext.

No but the agenda pushing diversity termites and their enthralled beta losers who cling to them want it to be political.

The picture just makes me sad. How she went to such great lengths to infiltrate male hobbies for attention.

Girls cannot have any interests outside of attracting males. Everything they do is for that purpose.

400 replies here we go!

What incentive would I have to lie about it? My sister was born when I was four, and I remember a lot of shit that went down before that.

I like to play tetris while I take a shit. It doesn't make me accept women as equals so I love the game.

no. this argument rests in a basis that people are being manipulated, and ideological aims are the only thing that matters. Yet that argument is an incredibly flimsy, muddy tin-foil hat argument. you could claim any form of persuasion as "manipulation" or "ideologically driven". So you end up not attacking the media being presented, but the motives and background garbage that is surrounding it.
With regards to ideology, it assumes propaganda works. Instead and in actuality, humans just are.

Yet the only alternative to stop all of this implied "ideological" and "manipulative" aims, is through actual physical coercion. Quite frankly, exaggerating the power of persuasion is the first step towards replacing persuasion with coercion. So politics is over-sold.

I believe it has more to do with the intent of the creator(s), like pic related

California, the faggot propaganda capital of the world, wants it to be political.
