Since they've got a ton of assets and systems ready, it's quite likely. It's clear that a large portion of developer focus had to be shifted towards the technology and interactions within the game world, so a sequel would have more room for memorable side quests and true dungeons.
What would you like to see in a BoTW sequel?
Other urls found in this thread:
-world a bit smaller & denser
-more of a focus on story and characters
-less shrines (or none) and bigger actual dungeons
Actual themed dungeons with distinct creative bosses. Hell that's a part of what made LOZ a zelda game to me. Also actual music, denser side-quests and an instrument.
A better artstyle. It's a travesty that that autistic Total War fangame lools better than any Zelda game since 2006.
All of this. May drop the instrument though in favor of some magical object like Rod of Seasons or some other shite.
Nothing
I enjoyed the lack of key items and the key item weaponry being turned into disposable weapons or clothing, but I would like bombs to be a finite resource like arrows instead of infinite rune malarkey.
That looks like garbage.
How about instead of saying "less shrines" just say "no combat test shrines". Those are the only bad ones.
Termina
less artificial shrines and more "natural" shrines
bring back some Zelda staples like transformations
Proper dungeons.
Upgradeable weapons/ Weapon attachments, perhaps not power, but with ability trees that affect the way a weapon works.
Improved selection of enemy types, with reskins offering more than just a health buff.
Sidequests that offer something useful. (See upgradeable weapons/ Attachemnts)
More story that focuses on things in the now.
Characters that follow through the storyline and show up and help at times.
A fully featured town in similar vein to The Witcher 3's Novigrad with many NPCs and stalls to buy armor/weapons/attachments.
Also, side dungeons that are optional (20-30 minutes long), offering special weapons/armor/upgrades.
Master Chef
Looks better than BoTW and LA despite being made by one guy.
>more weapon variety
>magic
>more enemies (bring back ones blatantly missing in BotW, revive some old ones similar to Lynels, introduce more new ones)
>more minigames
>fishing
>a better plot
>better voice acting if you're going to keep voice acting
>have night actually last long enough to be a threat
Dungeons woven into the environment. I also don't want to see any fucking shrines, especially stuck in larger areas, unless they at least reskin the exteriors/interiors. Put some fucking vines or snow on it or some shit.
See this? Don't do this shit.
link was pretty cute when pretending to be a girl so maybe more of that.
Better Quality. Thats literally it.
Better Dungeons, Shrines Sidequests, Combat, etc.
Especially in terms of quest. just imagine, instead of buying a house you build it yourself with magnesies and with rupees you can buy different parts for customisation. Stuff like that would be awesome
>3 separated open worlds, like they did with TW3
>less shrines, like 40 or 50, and better temples
>more plot
Get some more wild environmental design in there. Hyrule was a pretty standard fantasy landscape, which is fine for the first game but I'd like something more.
Underwater dungeon
Dungeon full of traps
More stuff like the island
Involved sidequests, BotW had some great ones so just do more of that
More interactions with NPCs/animals. Throwing sticks with dogs, petting dogs, etc
They really need to find a way to incorporate 'shrines' into the overworld. Have a magical barrier that disables Link's climbing and abilities or some shit. If it's mainly a technical limitation, put some long hallway/tunnel with a couple of doors to hide the loading.
- Repairable, Upgradeable, and Craftable weapons. Broken weapons don't leave your inventory unless you throw/drop them. Solves the issues of not wanting to use your best weapons because they'll break, and gives more use to the material system than just cooking and armor upgrades.
- Actual dungeons with unique themes and puzzles, remove shrines and consolidate those resources into making a bunch of Hyrule Castle style dungeons. Shrink the overworld to accommodate the empty space.
- More story and NPC interaction, if you shrink the overworld to do the above you can focus more on this. Maybe instead of the memories you could have the story play out whenever you do something important (clear a dungeon or important quest).
- More enemies and enemy variety.
- Expanded movesets for weapons.
>lol add dungeons
>budget? whatever just take out half the shrines
>wtf why is the world so empty
Thanks for not even reading my post which addressed that but including me in your shitpost anyway.
Something that doesn't bore you to death after 5 hours of playing
>More dense world
>real hyrule (not post apocalyptic wasteland hyrule)
>real dungeons
Then do do the open world meme. Dungeons are a REQUIREMENT for good Zelda.
What? Did you even read the OP post? The groundwork is there for a game with more content, as less development time needs to be spent on assets, AI, and the elements system.
just make sequel to wind waker
There were two already.
It's time to give TP a sequel.
Revamped Oracle games (In one package obviously) in the BoTW engine.
No idea what to call it though.
>What would you like to see in a BoTW sequel?
Nothing. This game is trash, only retarded shitch-owners pretent to be excited.
And the obsessed autist is here.
We had a good discussion.
Also I'd like to have underwater exploration and underground cave systems.
>"pretent"
>calling anyone else retarded
lmao
an actual good game
You can stop posting now, Eric.
But it's true. Nintendofags are all over it because it's the first big open world game on their platform. That game is 7/10 at best.
COPE
>doesn't deny he's blunderfag
Kill yourself, autist
Hopefully nothing suggested in this thread since Yea Forums is full of retarded faggots
A Zelda game.
>memorable side quests and true dungeons.
This. the dungeons were all too samey and a lot of the sidequests were mmo style fetch 10 bear asses quality
>Nintendofags are all over it because it's the first big open world game on their platform
Shitchfags only.
Wii U owners have XCX - actual best openworld game of this gen.
Stop trying to start a circlejerk with yourself, it's transparent and pathetic.
More villages, more hidden places to explore, more incentives to search for those. More water.
You should visit a doctor.
yikes

Not to get bored once I get off the great Plateau and not fall for the open world meme.
- A more focused world with more settlements and natural landmarks
- Dungeons more in line with the previous Zeldas, while the Divine Beasts were novel in concept I don't think they worked out, I'm not against the idea of being able to have massively changing dungeons like that, it's been done with basically every Water Dungeon in the series up to that point anyhow, but the Divine Beasts were let downs imo for dungeons.
- More varied and interesting sidequests, a lot of sidequests are just fetch quests, the exception being stuff like Kass' Song Puzzles which I think is where they could draw their focus, also having Questlines would be good.
- Tying into the previous point, better character development, Revali seems like the only interesting Champion in BotW because he's not just a copy of a previous character or a bland as cardboard cutout, of the descendants Sidon's probably the obvious choice but I am honestly more curious about Riju's character given she was forced into a position of power from a young age, I am disappointed that Tarrey Town didn't give development to Hudson, I don't mean in him getting married, I mean his personality, he's as boring as a sack of bricks.
- Expanding on the Physics & Chemistry Engines, they're the best thing in BotW and I would love to see more done with them.
- More variation in Cooking, Weapons and Armour, Cooking more so in variety whereas with Weapons it's more so just coming up with weapons that break the three weapon options the game currently has, as for Armour really making armour that gives the player trade-offs so no armour is the definitive armour for a specific task but instead there are armours that have benefits for some things and might share one benefit but differ on another.
(Continued in Pt.2)
(Pt.2)
- Enemy Variety, this is a problem in BotW itself so if it turns up in any follow-up game they already fucked up, the Enemy variety in BotW was garbage, there should be a good range of enemies for each region of the world and I would've like to see Guardians have more variety.
- Remove the Shrines but don't remove what they represent, Micro-Puzzles are a good thing in Zelda Games, but I don't think they should be used for something so critical when most Shrines are pretty underwhelming, there are a few I think would've been fine to give what in previous games were heart pieces but in other games I would think those puzzles would more so just be for Treasure or Rupees.
- Inject some Zelda into the Open-World, BotW was a good return to roots for the franchise but the next game should build on that by showing how characters, races, dungeon architecture and plot points can work with that new direction, I am honestly curious what a character like Tingle or an incarnation of the Postman would be like in this game, seeing a race like the Tokay or Anouki would be cool given how bizarre those two races are, having the dungeons be visually distinct allowing the devs to flex their creative process and having a plot that's more in line (in terms of bulk) with the older Zelda games.
Fuck off snoybois, game is literally perfect.
Based.
I'm a pcboy and as I said, that game is 7/10 at best.
sure user
nintendo hire this man!
>pcboy
Lmao says it all, fuck off with your no games since you can't enjoy the game of the decade.
But I can play it in 4k60fps on an emulator, wth are you on about?
An actual game instead of a shitty open world tech demo with a bunch of lame mini-games thrown in.

I love how mad you are, it warms my heart (even though one of you is obviously baiting)!
Most of what I'd want has already been said in this thread. A couple of things I'd add:
>gimped climbing and gliding
Climbing to the top of a mountain and gliding to wherever was liberating at first, but the great plateau shows that figuring out how to get down can be just as interesting as figuring how to get up somewhere.
>tone down fast travel
Did Skyward Sword ever have fast travel? It's been too long since I've played. They might be able to get away with no fast travel with a smaller and more dense world. It would help with that "getting lost" element that Aonuma talked about when exploring.
>dungeons having a difficulty curve
If they go for having several dungeons hidden in the overworld, then I'd hate for them to be balanced around being completed in any order.
>more unsettling moments
I don't necessarily want a darker Zelda, but I do love horror elements in non horror games. This could also be tied to exploration so that it covers more emotions than just mystery or whimsy.
Overall, as long as they innovate and experiment more with BotW's formula, I'll be happy. I don't want BotW 1.5.
You don't even enjoy the game, why are you gloating? Is your life that devoid of purpose?
What? 7/10 is a very respectable score, of course I enjoy it.
combat that doesn't suck
DLC that doesn't outline all the problems with the game
more dungeons
>figuring out how to get down can be just as interesting as figuring how to get up somewhere.
It's Shield Surfing or nothing

Only good post in this thread.
Shrines would have been absolutely loved if they had more enemy variety and looked like mini dungeons with unique styles according to the area and not a copy pasted future design.
>anyone who doesn't think it's a 10/10 is crying about it
>in a thread about how you would improve the game
I would like to explore actual places with lore and things to piece together about the world. I’m talking about ruins and caves with signs of a past history and markings and stuff like that. Not just shrines
Even perfect games can be improved
no they cant
do you know what perfect means
>A few areas being locked off until you get an item
>not being able to pause and heal
>more unique areas where the rules of the game change
>harder versions of previous mobs having additional mechanics
>more non combat related things i can do as side activities
>ability to craft weapons if they keep weapon durability
>shield surfing to not cause durability damage
This is a pretty good list but I would add
>Hard mode/Hero mode
>No healing in combat (maybe part of hard mode), return of small dropped hearts
>Real Dungeons
>Item progression (hookshot, paraglider, etc.)
>A real post game that doesn't send us back before the ganon fight
Also a lot might not agree, but I think an invader mode similar to dark souls would be cool, with the enemy invading as dark link
The open space was fine, that's a big part of the atmosphere and world design. Not everything needs to be close together, you just need to have more meaningful reason to explore the big space.
>More items. BOTW was good in its simplicity but having more permanent items such as the Hookshot, Magic Rods, or Boomerang would help with variety
>Better Shrine rewards. Everything in a shrine was something you could get oustide, bar 6-7 pieces of gear. Bring back sword techniques, magic meters, passive buffs, or even cosmetic costumes
I hope the next Zelda has significantly fewer items and food/crafting stuff. It’s kind of a boring thing to focus a game on
