>everyone I know goes away in the end starts playing

Nononononono

I'm just waiting until it has anything close to Project Reality features.

I still play everyday, still very enjoyable. The current meta is too dependent on vehicles though, causing Russia to get fucked by the british/us most of the time

Vehicle tracks/wheels getting destroyed in the next update should spice things up though, that's probably the most important feature coming soon

Full servers everyday. Just because it's not shitposting material doesn't mean it's forgotten.

dropped it when they added the 2 man take down to HABs, ruined the only good mode, invasion

Is squad like Post Scriptum were the none of the servers can handle the game so everyone has ~150 ping?

I agree invasion is the only good mode and it's all I play but how? If anything it made invasion a lot better now that you can't turtle on defense as well. If you have 2 enemies sneaking up to your fob/don't have a secluded backup fob to spawn on in case of that it's your own fault

Better game coming through.

The main problem I have with it is that there are other ways to destroy HABs now, like tanks or explosives. It's just overkill I think.

Yea Forums is all shitposting, if its not being shitposted its forgotten

Also I could probably get behind the change if the distance was more reasonable, 30 meters is retarted

the fate of all milsim trash

Squad is 1000 times better than Post scriptum

did they add new maps yet? god this game got stale fast.

>even less players
>much worse game

Kek nice try

Overall I think it's been a good change assuming squad leads are thinking about it (I mean I guess literally everything in squad comes down to having competent SLs). The only way a hab is getting destroyed by explosives is either an ied, or a tank literally pounds it for like a minute straight. Again if those are happening it's already the fault of the team letting it happen. Currently a good HAT is absolutely invaluable as well as SLs too due to the vehicle meta, especially if you're fighting a Bradley/warrior that can wreck Russian 30mm. You just can't put all your eggs in one basket with a fob right on the flag anymore which I think is a step in the right direction

Only games I play anymore are squad and rs2. Waiting for the next update for those sweet rifle grenades for the north that will hopefully revitalize them and curb the south pub stomp at least a little bit

Squad came out in 2015 and still has a higher playercount than newer games like Rising Storm 2, Insurgency Sandstorm or any other compareable semi-realistic military shooter (except arma but 95% of servers run rp or dayz like modes so that doesn‘t count )

Insurgency Sandstorm has dropped from 10k to under squads numbers in a really short time frame, the only reason it‘s peaking again is because of it‘s first content update last week, which is literally just a few guns.
To be honest, the only appeal the original Insurgency had was map variety and frequent

Should I pick up sandstorm insurgency? I own the previous one but honestly didn't like it that much, it felt way too small and cramped. I know insurgency has a higher player count but is it just more people packed into small maps? What's changed?

that's not what i asked

Good. Stay that way. Sent.

Never played post scriptum, so I can't say anything to compare, but squad ping seems good to me nothing unusual. Is post scriptum worth getting? Are they still churning out updates/is there still a player base?

Yes. It's shovelware just the same.

wtf based. RS2 btfo

>destructable wheels and tracks
>engineers and sappers bring c4 and mines to conventional factions
>granular rearming
>VOIP makes characters mouth move
>Skorpion SMG
>T-62, BRDM-2 ATGM and MRAP TOW variants almost finished
>Challenger 2 and BMP variants confirmed
>Norway Map and Fallujah progress update
>Commander abilities, UAVs and aistrikes
>Hand signals, Squadleaders physically use their radio when talking on Command VOIP
>engine update to make use of fortnites network improvements to finally add 100 players

Everything is looking like the game will have a well rounded 1.0 release and the playercount is healthy too, why this thread famalam?

>wanting the meatgeinder FOBs back
what the fuck?

The ping in the scoreboard isn’t accurate as far as I know, both Squads and Post scriptums netcode are actually decent

Stopped playing after they added tanks. Game just became admins spamming tank wars and there being literally nothing you could do once your tank lost but hide and pray. Also the new maps added were fucking trash and spammed 24/7 on all servers.

There are better ways to stop the meat grinder than a stupid gamey mechanic like the one they added.

does it still run like ass?

Literally the only thing that changed is brainlet SLs not being able to put everything into a single hab put right on the point. Which is how it should be. God forbid you have to think about fob placements now

People have gotten used to them somewhat now but yeah when they first added them it was bad. It's a lot better now, but that super big desert map is still garbage

Tanks are powerful if you don‘t know how to deal with them.
All you have as a LAT is to shoot it in the ass, now the engine is fucked and you have a 15+ ticket loot piñata sitting ducks

tallil has the map design the game should have had from the start, why the hate?

Out of around 30 people on my friends list who played I'm the only one who ever gets on anymore and after one or two games I remember why they all left and I go play something else. RIP

I wish habs started with a set amount of respawns and it was a third resource added to logis that resupplied them. This would make cutting supply lines and hunting logis a legitimate strategy which I think would be exciting. Logis would actually have to have escorts and would also stop defense turtling. That being said I'm not sure if the casual part of the player base could handle that, not to mention it would probably take too many people away from the actual frontline. Maybe when there are 100 man servers. Ammo kind of fills the role a little bit, if you're fob has no ammo and is constantly getting assaulted you're just asking for a vehicle reking when you're lats can't get ammo, but I think it'd be an interesting idea nonetheless

This would have been a much better change than the 2-man disable

Yeah the 2 man overrun is a low threshold bandaid, but it has served its purpose. After it was implemented games matches improved drastically for me. I do think 2 people is too low now, maybe it could be like 4 or 5 people, or make a squad leader one of the required people for an overrun

It's been a while since I've played so maybe it's different but I recall LATS hell even HATS shooting tanks multiple time to no effect. As for the map, it was just too god damn big and open. There was so little cover. It was obvious it was made just for tanks in mind to let the 4 people using them run around getting free kills on the rest of the server.

This honestly sounds like one of the best ideas I've heard for the game. It would only work with more people and more vehicles for each side though. It would actually make people want to fucking do logi runs

as someone with 1800 hours in RS2 and 0 hours in Squad, you are wrong.
