It wouldn't be difficult, especially given all the resources GF has. Just make body specific animations for each body type of pokemon and apply them as they fit. You don't need unique animations for every single move for every pokemon.

In many RPGs there are even skip buttons to skip over long animation attacks which get used when you see the long ass animation for the 5th time in the same battle.

The games are what keeps the series relevant. That's like saying the star wars movies don't matter because they sell a lot of toys.

It basically confirms another generation of horribly broken single battles where you take turns pressing A until the other team is dead
Double battles can't come to the mainline games fast enough
Try imagining any other turn based JRPG (most of which have more depth per character) where you only play one character at a time fighting other single characters

Maybe Game Freak should be less shit and make off the default in multiplayer or let you play only with people with the same setting.

C'mon, if we had Battle Revolution's animations you'd be complaining about how every battle takes about 5-10 minutes, you may not remember it well because BR was 10 years ago, but those animations were quite long for a Pokémon game.

If you were to have to watch all those animations every battle for about 30 hours you'd turn them off half-way through the game.

You can still just have pokemon do cool quick animations based on physical/special/punch/kick moves. They even did it with a few pokemon already in the 3DS era. The problem is that there's still a lot of effort not put into a lot of them, especially flying types.
