How 2 guarantee crit headshot with peestol?

Zombies, lickers, and Mr. X all rely pretty heavily on sound, walking around them can make it really hard for them to spot you. Always walk around lickers. Don't mix two green herbs, only mix them with reds. Leon's shotgun does crazy damage point blank, it can 1 shot any zombie if you get close enough and hit their head. Letting the cross hair tighten by standing still while aiming makes your shots do more damage.

If you're trying to kill a zombie, it's usually better to shoot off one of their legs then knife them to death. Shooting out a leg is also great if you just need to get by them. Close-range headshots with the shotgun will often blow off a zombie's head in one hit.
R+B (as well as G+R+B) Herbs give you a defense boost and make you temporarily immune to poison and allow you to run through a big gauntlet of G mutants in the sewers while taking barely any damage from their attacks.
In the lab section, make sure you're always carrying at least one defense item (frag grenade/flash grenade/knife) in case an ivy zombie grabs you. Same goes for the boss fight with G3.

It's literally almost impossible to die unless you get stuck in a corner and chain punched by Mr X or get caught in an instakill grab without a defense item.

I cannot underscore how abundant the full heals and ammo are in this game, especially on Standard. I just did a full kill run for the weekly challenge and ended with 6 extra rgb herb combos, 200 extra handgun rounds and 20 extra shotgun shells.

When I do a normal hardcore S+ run I use on average one heal a game and end with an abundance of extra shotgun and magnum ammo.

Just use Carcinogen's no damage strats but carry a full heal too. The item management doesn't get impacted that much except for the chess plugs part. That's easily managed by picking up the rook plug and going back to the box. DESU if you know how to do sewers right, though, it's incredibly unlikely you'll take damage anyway.

they deal more damage but you cant craft ammo and they dont really get upgrades

if you are fast at moving and evading and accurate with your shots, it shouldnt really be a huge problem

Challenge runs and shit where you pick up virtually no items on purpose and don't reroute if you take damage excluded.

My favorite game of all time is Super Metroid, and part of the reason I played Alien Isolation so much was because of the logs and lorefaggotry. I love the discovery of items/weapon hunting and reading the gruesome logs. The story's great and I had been playing about 4 hours before that big gray asshole showed up.

Any tips for time optimization for Hardcore? I feel like I should skip out on bothering with the Diamond key and the two secret spots backtracking from Sewers to RPD but I got 2:45:00 on Leon A standard so I feel like I need to ignore more things or at least only spend my time knifing shit up in areas I'm going to move through more actively

You're meant to stun them with a shot or two then run by with the starting gun, killings for the shotgun mag and grenades. Remember when games had mechanics specific to that game, this is design not a flaw.

thats bullshit. I have a mod thing that tells you how much health every monster in the area has and many of them have 1000-1190 HP to start. Other zombies that have heads like the one in the webm and cop zombies that have bald heads and no teeth all have near max HP too. That zombie in particular has 1190. A unfocused Matilda shot does like 100 damage per bullet, and headshots dont do extra damage unless they crit. Then adaptive difficulty reduces your damage y a % as you are more successful in the game

I never used pistol for popping heads, JMB's instant pinpoint accuracy with the laser is godtier for quickly staggering zombies as you run through, especially with the extended mag if you bother getting it

What do you guys save Claire's SLS magnum rounds for in her B scenario? I'm already at NEST and I haven't fired a single shot of them yet. I still have a fuckton of rounds for my SMG, fuck ton of grenade shells, decent amount of 9mm ammo, so I haven't really had much use of them. I am worried though that if I keep them stored they're gonna go to waste since I'm so close to the end. Should I just start popping zombies with them or should I save them for the G3 fight?

This one weirded me out. I tested the mirrors and noticed there was no reflection. It didn't really weird me out because it's common nowadays not to put them in due to rendering issues or whatever, but then in the interrogation room later on there was full-room reflection off the 2-way mirror.
If they were all non-reflective or all reflective consistantly it wouldn't have caught my eye but putting in just 1 throws everything out. Made a fantastic spook though.

What ammo type should I save the most? I am up to going through the lab cafeteria on Leon A. I know I should keep flamethrower fuel for plants but what should be my go to for ammo for zombies that are a must kill?

he could have just shot it in the knee 3-5 times to knock it down and make it crawl, then run up behind it and sliced it longways down its back with his knife. The zombie would be stun locked and helpless until death after like 6-7 cuts

Don't waste flamer on plants, they go down in 3-4 pistol rounds by shooting their yellow bulbs, save fuel for melting bosses instead
Hell, you hardly ever need to waste more than 1 shot on them cause they get stunned for a week after shooting 1 bulb allowing for a brisk walk by

There's no reason to waste that many resources in the morgue. You shouldn't be going back there after you get the diamond key.
