It's honestly not that bad and I'm struggling to understand why just mentioning the name of this area is enough to send...

>First playthrough
>Had Master key as my gift
>Dropped into new londo, valley of drakes, and the back end of blight town at level 3
>Somehow got all the way down and manbaged to save in the bonfire inb the sewers bottom level
>Now stuck
>Pretty much everything one shot me
>Had to grind on leeches for 5 hours just to survive blight town
>Bewat Queelag as my first boss
>Ended up going as far back through blight town reversed, thinking that was the right way.
>Figured there was nothing, left back the way i originally came.
>back at firelink, didnt see the bell
>Now get to undead burg at level 29.

I had the same exact experience as you OP
>Had Bloodborne
>It got ruined for me so didn't touch it
>Picked it up last year
>Played the everloving shit out of it
>Platinum it
>Get DS Remastered
>Actually enjoy Blighttown for the most part
>Can't stand Sen's Fortress
>Anor Londo is pretty fun
>Painted World is a mindfuck
>Decide to go fight Sif
>Last area I remember is the one with the cats, the trees, and the 3 translucent hunter types that try to gank you
I kinda lost interest after that because of how vast everything is. It's great to have the Lordvessel. But there's all these pyromancies and weapons and upgrade types and if you want to 100% you need to go down a bunch of different upgrade "trees" and also there's a bunch of tail weapons which is easy enough except for Priscilla so now I have to deal with her on NG+ if I want to get her tail and on and on and on.

That area isn't called power point valley for no reason. Walking down there, having your fps drop into the single digits while suddenly dieing of toxic then panic rolling off a ledge is what made this place so damn unforgivable. Reaching the bottom was the biggest sigh of relief that I've ever had.

I don't remember struggling much at that area the first time I played DaS
I thought the swamp was annoying, but people exagerate how bad the area is

>why just mentioning the name of this area is enough to send some people in to a cold sweat
it's not a cold sweat, it's a hot sweat from the console's strain of trying to render it.
