Man, this game is unimaginably tedious. Why do they sell the eight paths so hard if you have to do all eight of them anyway?

If it were made by Nintendo, it would be praised to the high heavens by Yea Forums.

Because it's obviously a terrible idea once you know how it's actually implemented.

This is one of those games you play a few hours before sleep.

>Why do they advertise the focus of this game if I have to take part in it?
???

This
Either OP os retarded or worded his intentions wrong. I enjoy the game. It's not flawless but it's got its moments. A sequel that expands on a few things could really be a great game.

Is it worth the price tag?

Do you like old school RPGs with great battle mechanics and min/max autism?

Noblepath here, Roguepath are faggots. Especially Cyrus, the pedophile.

>Do you like old school RPGs with great battle mechanics and min/max autism?
Then skip Octopath as it has none of it, nor it is an old-school RPG.

What did you like any Octopath then?

>implying he bought or played it

>played 100+ hours, complete all 8 paths and every side quest, have all the best gear and leveled all to 90+, quit at the ruins of hornburg
I’m right at the end and I just can’t turn the game back on and finish.

*about Octopath

Octopath Traveler is a boomer game in an era of zoomers.

You don't have to do all 8. You just would benefit from at least 3 allies to help your main one.

>i'm ten minutes away from finishing the game but i just can't do it xD
Are you actually retarded? Just beat the boss.

>retarded
Nah, all that autistic grinding and overleveling burned me out and I lost all interest. 4/10 game anyway.

I enjoyed it but it definitely needed more time in the oven. It ends up feeling unmemorable because the stories go nowhere interesting and only their lose ends tie into what could be considered the overarching narrative, which is otherwise nonexistent. In the end it feels like it tries to hard to be gimmicky. I would have traded the whole "eight paths" shit for one solid story involving every character. The best parts of the game are what it does the same as most other JRPGs.

I found it to be very shallow, as if the developers were just ticking off boxes on a checklist. Have you played Saga Frontier?

>able to stay interested through all of that grinding
>not interested in new content
You also leveled about 20 levels higher than you needed to. Next time don't go full retard.

I got Xenoblade Chronicles 2, liking it. Was going to get Tales of Vesperia next and then Octopath but now I think i want to wait until it isn't $59.99 and if that's never then oh well.

You never have to. You are full of shit.

Just watch dunkey review. He pretty much sums up why the game is 2/5

Cyrus is literally too clueless to be a pedophile.

The game as it is is just okay (with great music and visuals though). It could have been great if the paths intersected a bit more and actually had some interaction.

Also maybe cut the boring missions.

not every JRPG can be a SaGa game

>watch this review of a turn-based JRPG made by someone who hates turn-based JRPGs
lol

>he didn’t solo run the game
Fucking casual

Game is terrible at keeping you interested in it. I dropped it after I finished a few chapter 4. The stories are boring, that’s the least I can say. The only good part is the music. But you can listen to them outside of the game. Nintendotards were all excited because it was the 2nd RPG on the console. Just like when Nintendo announces that they will release FF7 in 6 months.

He shat on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 but I am liking it. Dude is funny but na

>I dropped it after I finished a few chapter 4
So you mean after like 80% of the game?

Yes. Was delusional.

Yep. Not only was it tedious but it was tiresome and monotonous

I felt like I had to play it cause I spent like 60 euros day one. But it was like listening to a literature lesson. The pain had to stop. I then concluded that the game was terrible.

What are the best job combinations?

Same, I felt like I was obligated to play it because I dropped 60 shekels on it but I couldn't get the motivation to play past all the Chapter 1s.
Game is boring as fuck.

Assuming no hidden jobs
Cleric/Dancer for a full support role is solid
Thief/Hunter makes you the ultimate debuffer
I always liked Thief/Warrior too
Scholar/Merchant was able to hit 5/6 elements (with hired help covering for Light magic)
Dancers/Scholar was good too for just general stats and possible magic self buff

Why does a porn game have better writing than 99% of story focused rpgs?

>I payed for a game day 1 and didn’t like the beginning despite there being 2 demos for the game
Retards

Should I play this with english or japanese voices?

the English dub is really good

Played the original demo with Olberic/Primrose and thought it was worth buying.
Little did I know they put the only 2 interesting stories in the entire game into the demo.

Surprisingly good English dub. Only H’aanit sticks out because the writers gave her a fake olden speak

And then there was a literal second demo that let you play through everyone’s prologue.
So if you did waste your money you literally only have yourself to blame

Cyrus, Alfyn, and H'aanit were good too. And Ophilia blew the doors off once she hit Chapter 4.
