Literally why? Can't those authors think of any other usage of such ability? If you can teleport yourself at will, it means you can also apply quantum effects on microscopic, like tunneling, superposition, entanglement, to name a few.
>If the enemy can't stop you from fleeing, he also can't stop you from putting a rock to his brain
>Remove his heart
>Attack him with countless copies of yourself
>Ma
>Make you attacks pass though any and all of his defenses
>Use the wave function of your weapons to make them impossible to guard against
>Time travel to the past to kill his ancestors

Maybe most of them are just too low level to use the ability to its full power?

It's uncool nerd shit. No one except spergs wants to read that.
Ah yes, characters should just keep punching each other really hard ad nauseum because that's engaging and creative.
In general, people can't teleport like that. Teleportation is a specific power, moving from A to B. D&D doesn't have spells that lets you do any of that stuff, otherwise it would trump everything.
It's like saying "Why can't I create a fireball INSIDE someone? Checkmate, casters."

You know, you're actually right. Wizards will never, ever be cool, because they've waving their hands and doing bullshit. Everyone appreciates a face-to-face brawl where you're trying to put metal into someone.
The most famous wizard in all of fiction is Gandalf, and he fought with a sword. Meanwhile, Harry Potter barely used any offensive magic at all, he was always in physical danger.
That's right. Weapons are cool as well as long as they're from real life and were invented before 1950.
Quantum effects cannot occur if there are interferances/observers, user. Anyone who uses the word quantum outside of atomic scales is a popsci to me
Teleportation is a matter of time and space and therefore gravity
