yeah how well you do your job doesn't really matter. i call guys who are really good at their job useful retards. because they get too caught up in their work but aren't focusing on impressing the the higher ups and climbing the ladder. there are a lot of these types, and a lot of assholes who suck at their job but are shrewd with workplace politics and diplomacy and quickly rise to the top.

i am an autist too. read the prince by machiavelli. think of yourself as a prince, and the industry is 15th century italy. all my interaction with people at my job i basically try to LARP as what machiavelli perscribes. i legit reread it every month. if you can get down what he says, social interaction in the workplace boils down to just following a set of rules and applying them in the right places
