>Women are fiction’s life support system – buying 80% of all novels.
How can men write to appeal to women more?
>Women are fiction’s life support system – buying 80% of all novels.
How can men write to appeal to women more?
I would rather see it dead than to see it the way it is now
More rape scenes
I really doubt this statistic.
Wow it's almost like that's who all this dogshit YA and LGBTQIA+ niggerloving garbage being pumped out by the industry is marketed towards
Why? Men read less then women and are less likely to buy things, also more likely to pirate stuff. It’s not surprising.
Valid points, but I think about stuff like sci-fi novels which still seem to be relatively popular among males. I can believe 60-70%, but 80% seems dubious.
I would word it differently, but yes women are much larger cosoooooomers than men when it comes to literature.
include more werewolf knot
Why are women such consoomers, are they soulless?
Men hunt, women gather
Everyone can consoom. I don't know why you would focus on women unless this has just been a thinly veiled set up to the incel rant you wanted to give all along.
>incel!!!
Soullessness confirmed
>women run society and provide the majority of the caloric intake and nutritional diversity
>men play in the woods but bring home a nice steak once in a while
Hunter-gatherer society is not the supporter of sexism that you think it is.
Okay, so I was right.
>when women ran society we lived in grass huts, when men took over and established the patriarchy we built civilization
Femcelanon, your arguments will never work out, just stop.
>emotional truth
so just a comfortable lie
Women entered the workforce only recently. Their spending habits mirror that of people from fast developing nations, in that they now have financial freedom. They're a gender of the new rich. Give it a generation or two and they will settle into the same pattern that developed Enlightened men have embraced.
It’s like the statistic that women are 80% of gamers, it’s technically true if you include women playing candy crush on their phone. Women read the majority of novels if you include all the young adult drivel they read that’s intended for literal children
Implying it's good
men consume trivial things as well; think about guys who spend 200$ dollars on virtual items or yugioh cards.
This statistic doesn't count used books or second hand sales. It is concerned with books currently being published.
>emotional truth
?
>but I think about stuff like sci-fi novels which still seem to be relatively popular among males.
Not nearly as much as the crap women read. I buy and sell books online, and I can very much confirm the statistic.
protag = 4/10 frumpy nerd girl
villain = 10/10 stacy
love interest = chad who dumps stacy and his harem for frumpy protag
More like protag is a woman who either wears glasses or doesn't wear makeup and seems to be a 6/10. Then she takes off the glasses or puts on the makeup and becomes a 10/10. Literally every women thinks they are fucking Nicole Kidman when they put on makeup.
>I really doubt this statistic.
Because you live in a cave. Most novels published are by women not because of DA JEWS but because only women are willing to buy literature, and they want to read women, just like men want to read men. Men basically don't read anymore. Millennials were the last potential readers, gone with scholastic book fairs. Anybody under the age of 25 is just larping as a reader, it's all simulacrum. Women read because they enjoy it, young men read to signal intelligence (which they don't need to buy new books for)
That statistic is why the (((industry))) is so bad and not worth saving
>Anybody under the age of 25 is just larping as a reader, it's all simulacrum
yeah okay retard
but I really really like reading though ->-<
>t.zoomie
Scholastic book fairs still happen though
Women also run the publishing industry. Chicken and egg: did the female-led pipeline produce books only women want to read, or did the market force them to adopt that strategy?
I find it hard to believe too. If I remember myself inside a bookstore or watching people read in the subway, it's definitely not 4 out of 5 people are women. I'd say it's 50/50.
>How can men write to appeal to women more?
Learn to write vapid romance novels.
I saw some statistic where the people that work in publishing are overwhelmingly women. Even if it's not a (((plot))), there is a negative feedback loop...novels don't get published unless there's potential for female readership...men largely ignore female-oriented novels...publishers believe that men are an unprofitable market and double down on female books.
Women past 30 consume books like this like candy.
That's because men pirate books
I can tell you an agent I decided not to work with declared that her agency was trying to “right the wrongs of the white man” in publishing. That’s the popular mindset, apparently.
>poll my e-brothel matches on last book they read
>have good jobs, make decent money
>99% of the time it’s a smut romance
>match w 18 y/o (based)
>cashier and Onlyfans for “supplemental income and to pay for school”
>she’s conversant about Joseph Campbell and Jung
God bless you Chloe I’m sorry you’ve had such a tumultuous life.
Dear Lord. I’m considering self-publishing through Amazon desu
where do i meet women like this
>...has been used to trivialise the genre
The genre? The novel is not a genre.
As you should, all statistics in newspapers are lies
>all statistics in newspapers are lies
Assuming all statistics in newspapers are lies is just as bad as assuming all statistics in newspapers are correct. Be skeptical, not contrarian.
>i don't buy books, i usually just get them online and print them because the paper is cheaper
>my gf or mom buys me books
makes sense deshita
If women are fiction's life support system it's time to pull the plug

Why do you faggots care so much?
The novel was always a feminine gente, now even more because men has other options
If you wanna write for men, be a screenwriter, not a fucking novelist. But 4channel loves to complain.
>screen writing
there's no artistic merit in that
Men should write epic poetry. That's a manly field for you.
Romance novels.
Ted's was pro agriculture.
this has literally always been the case. in the 19th century the vast majority of novel readers were women
Start writing good lit so men will want to read it instead.
Women support an ecosystem of low quality trash literature.
Let's be clear here. It's not literature they're reading. It's chick lit.
It's almost like saying there are more college educated people today than there ever was, but college is unrecognizable when compared to colleges back in the day.
But yeah, intellect is not as valued anymore because almost everyone is a retard. So there's little incentive for the average male to read.
Reading fiction is overhyped desu. There are a handful of great novels appearing each century and beyond that it's just a time sink.
Or fucking jetskis and fishing rods.
there hasn't been a good novel released in the past 5 years. it *should* die.
It would be extremely good for literature if the modern publishing scheme died and the writers getting published along with it. But it won't because it's making more money than ever, and that's the only thing that matters for the industry. Literature is getting worse because it's getting the lowest common denominator treatment. Everything is made cheaper, easier and more familiar to consumers. The point is, naturally, to create bigger profits. There are writers who want to create art but they won't ever get published because it's not going to sell.
Of course none of this is unique to literature. Absolutely everything undergoes this very same process. All forms of art and even consumer goods do. Everything is getting cheaper and more consumable. It's "better" for the industry if you buy a cheap trashy book each week, and it's "better" if you buy a new TV or a phone every year. There simply is no incentive to create quality, be it quality literature, quality household appliances, quality hobby equipment, or quality anything.
When it comes to good literature, a writer absolutely can't make a living out of it. One has to be a hobbyist or have a personal patron to be able to write literature. And even then it's not going to get published.
Based. The only eternal form of civilization is goddess worship. Once the will to power opens its mouth there is nothing but discord and strife that echoes its call. Time starts when the will to power speaks but a few of us wish for timeless days lost to the mists of prehistory. God shit is nothing but melodramatic ego capers. Give me the divinely uninteresting stasis of goddess worship, thank you very much. I am a dreamer and this Mars ruled timeline is one great annoying headache. I'm trying to attune with all of my consciousness not just this noisy miserable stretch of existence and its epidemic of hypertrophic egos.
>without women the novel would not be trivialised
ftfy
>One has to be a hobbyist or have a personal patron to be able to write literature
Where can we all find some hot upper class MILF patrons? That seems like the winning plan.
This is news? I always knew the only people reading contemporary litearture were women as evident by the overwhelming amount of current authors being women. I don't care, I don't write for profit but for my own and my fans' enjoyment. This only is bad news if you intended on becoming a bestselling fiction author.
Also this. The only genre that men still buy and read is SciFi , Sword n' Sorcery and it's derivatives.
