How come no love for the best Dragon Ball anime? All I ever see is Super. There hasn't been anything that matches the 22nd and 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai arcs in Z or Super. The series really died when Goku dyed his hair blond. He should have died on Namek with the series ending there. It was the perfect ending point. Android and Cellfags are the worst. At least in the manga, the Buu arc was almost a return to form, bringing back some of the gags and what not.

I'm American and grew up on Toonami just like everyone else. I was always aware of this history, though, and read those early Viz manga releases (the ones that looked like comic books). I instantly loved it because it somewhat reminded me of the Saiyan saga, which was my favorite arc up to that point. Fuggin brainlets.

Because it's the culmination of Gohan's character arc.
For toonami kids that grew up starting from Z, Gohan is more or less the main character to them, pretty much what Goku is to everyone who started with Dragon Ball. I can't really fault them, also Cell was pretty cool. I like the ending of the Cell saga but the android and beginning of Cell is all kinda silly.

I liked the fights in DB because they were actual fights where physical blows matter.
Past a point in DBZ and all punches and kicks do is soften them up for a beam attack.
